He had a very excellent beginning for his nation winning the 2005 U17 and Olympic football tournaments in Holland and Beijing resp. incidentally beating Nigeria in the final of the two events.

I'm tempted to say if Nigeria had qualified for these football finals, Brazil 2006, Copa America 2015 and 2016, Messi would be celebrating 3 consecutive medals for his country this morning.

Messi please don't retire. Messi please fast and pray for Nigeria and Argentina to qualify against all odds and meet in the final of 2018 world cup so that you can celebrate a trophy playing for Argentine national team
