EasternLionn: Yorubas and propanda, i didn't read anywhere the headlines says "Beg"
RELEASE OUR SON, PARENTS OF ‘RADIO BIAFRA’ DIRECTOR KANU TELL FG The parents of detained pro-Biafra activist and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, have called on the Federal Government and the Department of Security Services [DSS] to release their son who has been in detention since his arrest on October 17, 2015.
Speaking with newsmen at his palace, the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu Ibeku autonomous community in Umuahia North Local Government Area, HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and his wife, Ugoeze Nnenne, said that the arrest and continued detention of their son has affected them negatively.
83-year-old Eze Kanu, who attended the pressbriefing alongside two of his children, said the arrest and incarceration of his first son has aggravated his health condition, which hesaid, has made him to sleep less at night.
He said, “Since my first son, Nnamdi was arrested by the Federal Government, myself, his mother and his siblings have been having health challenges and sleepless nights. We are calling on those involved to release him without delay.
“I am pleading with the Federal Government to release my son; let his freedom be restoredwithout further delay, as I am aware that in Nigeria, the constitution guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of expression. “I am surprised that my son is being detained.I have been asking why he is being held without getting an answer, and it is very bad because I am unable to go and see my son in detention to confirm if he is still alive or not.”
Eze Kanu said that he was worried and confused when news of the arrest of his son was broken to him, adding that the family hasnot had any access to him since his arrest.
“I was confused because my son was comingto see me when he was arrested. When I asked where he was arrested, they said Abuja. I sent people to confirm his state of health and the report I got is that he is alive, that’s why I was able to speak now.”
The traditional ruler denied knowledge of his son’s involvement in Biafra agitation. While describing Kanu as gentle and unable to hurt a fly, the monarch said his son never discussed his pro-Biafra activism with him.

Politics › Buhari Calls, Congratulates World Scrabble Champion, Falconets by Tolexander(op): 7:18pm On Nov 08, 2015 |
President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening congratulated a Nigerian, Wellington Jighere, after he emerged World Scrabble Champion, the first from Africa.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President conveyed his congratulatory message to Jighere in a telephone conversation he had with the 36-year-old Nigerian who is currently in Perth, Australia.
“I called to rejoice with you over your performance. You have done the country proud, and we are very happy. Please, pass my congratulations to other members of Team Nigeria,” Buhari reportedly told Jighere who defeated Lewis Mackay of Cambridge, England, by 448 points to 426 to win the championship which was competed for by 450 players from round the world.
Jighere who was said to have been delighted at the telephone call from the President pledged to bring more glory to the country.
The five other Nigerian representatives finished in the top 50 scrabble players in the world bracket.
Shortly after Buhari ended the telephone conversation, news got to him that the Under-20 female football team, the Falconets, have qualified for the Women’s World Cup Tournament after beating the Basetsana of South Africa by a lone goal in an away game.
The Falconets had walked a tight rope after scraping just a 2-1 win over South Africa in Nigeria two weeks ago.
With the away goal counting double rule, all that South Africa needed today was a single goal, but the Nigerian girls turned the table.
“This is a clear case of the indomitable Nigerian spirit. Such will soon be evident in all aspects of our national life,” Buhari said.
The President had on Saturday made a similar telephone call to Golden Eaglets asking them not to settle for anything less than victory in the final match of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup holding in Chile on Sunday. http://punchng.com/2015/11/5016 |

Politics › RCCG Not Repairing Lagos-ibadan Expressway – Ogun by Tolexander(op): 1:05am On Nov 06, 2015 |
The Ogun State Government has said the Redeemed Christian Church of God is not responsible for the palliative work being done on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
PUNCH Metro had reported that some workers employed by the church were seen filling some potholes on the road
However, the state government in a statement on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Adejuwon Soyinka, stated that the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure was already spending millions of naira in putting the road in a good condition for motorists.
He said, “The ongoing palliative work on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is being handled by the Ogun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
“Concerned about the plight of commuters on the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Ogun State Government, on Tuesday, embarked on palliative work on some bad portions of the expressway.
“Not minding the fact that it is a federal road, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who was worried about the plight of commuters that spend hours in traffic gridlock on the road, directed the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to immediately fix the bad portions of the road and also construct drainages.
“In giving the directive, the governor was particularly concerned about the need to immediately bring relief to the road users especially as the Redeemed Christian Church of God and other churches on the ever busy road are also billed to hold events that will attract millions of worshippers this weekend.”
Soyinka quoted the state governor as saying that the efforts made at rehabilitating the road were to complement the work of the Federal Government.
Amosun was quoted to have said the state would not neglect federal highways in the state since all roads were being plied by Nigerians.
He said, “The intervention job on the ever busy expressway is an initiative of the Ogun State government to rescue millions of Nigerians who spend hours in the gridlock occasioned by some bad portions of the road.
“It is also on record that the Ogun State Government had carried out similar palliative measures on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu road and other federal roads within the state because the state is strategically located in such a way that goods and passengers going to all other parts of the country have to pass through the Gateway state,” the statement added. http://punchng.com/2015/11/4312 |
Politics › False Allegation: Blogger Begs Amosun For Forgiveness by Tolexander(op): 6:43pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
The blogger who was arrested by policemen in Ogun State last month and charged to court for allegedly writing a false report against the wife of Ogun State governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, Emmanuel Ojo, has apologised to the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
In a statement he personally signed in Abeokuta on Wednesday, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent, he said the action was not aimed at maligning the state governor or any of his family members.
The blogger had posted a story on his facebook page that Mrs. Amosun had been arrested and detained in London over money laundering to the tune of $300,000.
Ojo, who had been arrested and released on bail, was charged for publishing a false news with intent to malign, cause hatred against the wife of the governor which was punishable under section 516 of criminal code cap 24 vol. 2 Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.
The blogger said he had received good counsel from some stakeholders in the state, mainly community and spiritual leaders, asking him to embrace peace by seeking alternative means of settling the impasse.
Ojo said he had also directed his lawyers to withdraw the case he instituted against the governor’s Chief security Officer as part of the peace moves.
He said, “In the spirit of ‘Omoluabi,’ I hereby apologise for any inconvenience or embarrassment that the said Facebook posting might have caused the state government or the family of the amiable governor.
“I have also directed my lawyers to withdraw the case instituted against the governor’s CSO in the interest of peace.
“Let me reiterate, at this juncture, that it is not my wish at anytime to malign anyone, particularly the state governor or any of his family members.
“It is the peace, prosperity and progress of my dear Ogun State that I seek. I believe the state governor, being the father of all in the state, will appreciate this and be benevolent on the matter.” http://punchng.com/2015/11/3912 |

egift: Just to make sure you disagree with Aisha, you could not even support a platform that will help thousands of Children across the country in participating practical leadership engagements. to start with, must I always agree with someone? The Children parliament in the 36 states to discuss issues relating to and affecting Nigerian children, what will be the criteria to bring the parliamentarians together, election throughout the states or appointment where nepotism and cronyism are the norm in the Nation? Definitely, election isn't possible but selection. What issue do u expect to be discussed by children that have been exorcized from their immediate environment by vertical bricks at home, either in boarding school or schooling abroad and probably day pupils with pupil of similar exposure on foreign programs by media and naive of what the street is saying? Instead of children parliament in each of the 36states, why can't it be introduced in the various primary and secondary schools as voluntary club if one of the aims is to learn the act of leadership? |

[b]You see the Man on the right hand side of this picture... Never pick a fight with him, you will lose If you join him, you will be a winner, if you oppose him, he will destroy you.
Many have tried. Former Governors Peter Odili and Celestine Omehia and the then seemingly powerful PDP faction tried and failed. Former President Goodluck Jonathan tried and failed as well. Honorable Evans Bipi and Honorable Ihunwo as well tried and failed.. CP Mbu of the Nigerian Police force also tried and failed. The One they call Mama Peace also tried and has failed. Akpabio has tried as well in the Senate and has failed.
This Man is unstoppable. The Hand of the God's are strong in his life.
