Hi. I'm guessing you passed your medicals. Is there any info from CIC concerning your application?

Insensitivity and facts are two different things in this scenario. If you really look at the criteria again, you will have to realistically agree that whoever falls into this category must have a question to answer...
1. Employee who have BVN issues - The CBN sensitized the whole nation for 1yr and extended it for another 6months. If anybody has a BVN issue, then legally that account is deactivated. Pray tell how do you expect the state government to pay into an inactive account?
2. Employee who collects two or more salaries - If this is established, then these categories should have been arrested by now
3. Ghost workers - Same as two above, especially if the recipient of the salaries can be found
4. Service Age outdated -OK, if by my understanding, these are "football-age" Daddies and Mummies, then should we encourage what it utterly bad?

So from the above the first issue is that there is a problem to be solved in the workforce. Just like madam modath raised above, these are hydra-headed monster. A lot have hidden under the canopy of civil service, when other industries are practically comatose. The bubble has to bust one day, and in busting some people will unfortunately be affected
These are the facts:
1. We treat ourselves like animals in Nigera. Our political leaders are even worse.

2. As you have stated, employees wothout BVN would not have been able to use their accout long before now. Beacuse of these, they would have gone to register for BVN. I know and I am sure these the problem is not BVN. At least I know someone who has the BVN! yet her name is on the list of ghost worker because of BVN. If you employ me and I have provided the service for which I was employed for more than six months on credit, your concern shoul be paying my salary not my BVN.
Without the BVN, you can pay into my account, but I will not be able to collect yhe money. He has done a screening this year already.

3. One of the conditions governor Ajimobi laid down when the bail out fund came was dat all the workers must be screened with the original certificates right from primary to university. This was used to screen out "service age outdated" workers. This happened this year.

Politics / Re: Oyo State Is Stinking - Babatunde Ademola by Toluwaase(m): 6:50pm On May 31, 2016
I know a woman in my Church who was declared a ghost worker because of the BVN issue.
I believe some of these governors are raising false alarm about ghost workers or they are overbloating it. For instance in Kogi State, it was reported that the NLC chiarman is a ghost worker (reference: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/204101-kogi-govt-sacks-nlc-leader-says-hes-ghost-worker.html ).Oyo State governor never requested for the BVN of the workers, if he did, there should have been clear instructions which could have included deadline for submission. This was not done, these workers just woke up one morning and the found their names on the list of ghost workers after working on credit for more than 6 months.

This same governor (Senator Ajimobi) have collected more than 25 billion naira as bail out fund, yet he has not settled the salaries he is owing (reference: http://icpc.gov.ng/monitoring-bailout-funds/). It is even more pathetic that President Buhari is not asking questions about the bail out fund. It appears he only gave the governors more money to divert.

Apart from the BVN issue, the rate at which these workers are dying is alarming. Those of us that collect salary regularly know that we survive on God's grace, let alone workers who have not been paid for over six months. Because of the report of rate of deaths of the state workers, Governor Ajumobi has allegedly given those that have not been sacked the instruction to go and do fitness test in designated hospitals. The test is not free as they have to pay certain amount of money for the test. Those that are declared 'unfit' will be sent packing.

Few months ago, these workers were asked to collect their original certificates from all the institutions they have attended in the name of screening. He promised that only those who passed the screening will be paid. Most of them had to borrow money for journeys to all the institutions they have attended from Primary to University. It was a real mental agony for them as thy had to spend hours, days on the road, spend hours, days in towns and villages they left years back, they had to pay through their noses for certificates. At the end of the day, they were not paid.

I believe Nigerians need to speak up on behalf of these workers that are suffering. Apparently NLC and TUC are dead in this state or they just the govetnor's rubber stamp. The journalists are dormant, human rights activists are too busy, while the state is dying.

We need to tell ourselves some serious truths. Our civil service, both state and federal, are way overbloated and need to be trimmed down drastically, especially under the current cash-crunch. These civil servants are the same 'Ghost Workers' we are hearing so much about. They are lazy for the most part, and in the case of Oyo state, some of the affected ones have allegedly been embezzling millions of IGR over the years.

This is beyond partisanship. Governors must reduce their civil service work force, focus on raising their states IGR and completely forget about getting any Federal allocation coz no more free lunches, Oil money don dry. The laid off civil servants too should quit whining and go into private business, offer some service or something, instead of waiting to be collecting salaries for doing practically nothing!

Your contribution shows your are just an human being, you are far from being human

5th of May. Paper route
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Toluwaase(m): 1:35pm On May 31, 2016
Pls gurus in the house, I need your candid advice.

I got a mail last week tuesday instructing me to go ahead and do medical exam. One of the instruction says I have to complete the test before the expiration of 14 days. I only have the opportunity to do it tommorrow.

I called consutant practice to know the number of days it will take before the result can be sent, thry said 6 working days. IOM said two working days. This shows the mrdical exam result will not get to the embassy before the end of the 14 days

Considering price, medical test in IOM costs 33k while it is only 28k in consultznt practice. Hence, I prefer Consultant practice because of the price, but ...

Do I need to bother about the number of days it will take them before sending the results? Or I should go ahead and do it in any of the two hospitals.

Please how long does it take one to do the biometrics at the vfc? Please I need this info
The only answer to your question is that you will do it the very day you submit your paper application. The number of hours you will spend waiting depends on the number of people ahead of you and if you put together your application documents correctly. If you want to leave vfs early, get there as early as 8:00 am.

They will attend to the last applicant that walks in before 3:00 pm. Sometimes, some applicants wait till 6 pm before their biometrics are done. They make sure everyone that submits is taken care of.

However, the biometrics itself does not take up to 10 minutes.

thanks, I called Children practice & IOM and they said I should apply for my trv first(since am using online route). Pls how true is that?

I did not do medical exams upfront, but from my experince on this forum, it is possible. Cic website also confirms this. It is possible that they will generate a form for you. Q LIFE is another clinic you can call.

Nonetheless, pls gurus on the house, help us out.

1. I really can't answer this one, the only difference I know is the amount it takes to get it done and it's just 50 bucks. Consultants practice, 28,050.

2. Procedure (Consultants practice): (I'm assuming you already have your medical request form from the cic, else the initial stages of this detailing will be different as I know nothing about upfront medicals but I guess they'll probably just generate a form for you, be sure to call beforehand.)

Be sure to get there between 8-10 am, Earlier is good, later is not. You'll meet someone at the front desk (she fit dey strong face sha but e no mean), she'll take your cic medicals form( if you have) attach a passport photograph to it, give you a deposit slip (no worry, the bank dey near) and tell you to ma the payment and make a photocopy of the returned form which now has a passport attached to it. If you haven't already made a copy of your passport data page, you'll need to do that too. (one barracks dey nearby for photocopy)

The actual process for medicals:

Pretty basic, you pee into a tube, they take your blood, check your height and weight, get an x-ray of your chest (not necessarily in that order) then send you up for e-medicals (I no understand this one but e be like biometrics for vfs) after which you'll see a doctor that'll ask some health related questions, check your vision and possibly blood pressure.

Overall the process took like 5 hours, give or take...na the wait for that physical exam take time pass.

3. From Obalende, take keke/bus to Falomo/Ikoyi, tell the driver you'll be getting off at GT Bank. Ask around, e no far from there.
thanks @overtlyderanged

@ GeneralSnipper post

first of all, @GENERALSNIPPER congratulations if your post has iota of truth in it

1) I am a Guyman on my own independent entity, i can't watch you here to say only those documents got you TRV but as you said you used an agent have convincingly answered my doubts

2) for NEW FOLLOWERS on THIS THREAD that which he listed would never and ever get you visa,if you don't do the necessary documentation as it applies to your case.

3) i wouldn't want to lay emphasis on the ''ARRANGEE'' which i know his agent did but don't put up deceitful post which will mislead other genuine students that have no complexity in their timeline.

i rest my case!

I believe this forum is a testimony to the fact the information can liberate. What Nigerians learn from here is amazing, from the information we get, to the togetherness we achive as Nigerians, one thing has helped;openness. People have corrected wrong information on this forum. Kindly inform us of the loopholes in the application. I believe generalsniper would not have posted his information if he destests scrutiny.

Pls btw online and paper route which one is better at this point? I intend applying for my trv next week monday for september session. Plssss its urgent. Thanks

I do not think one is faster than the other. What you need is God's favour and knowledge of what to submit and what not to submit, how to write your SOP and the validity of your documents.

If you submit via paper route, you will submit your passport and your biometrics will be taken same day.

But if you go via online route, you will be requested to come for biometrics few days after submission while request will be made for your passport later.

Either way, the smartest move you can make is doing your medical exams upfront.

hi everyone,

Pls do I need to certify or notorize all the photocopies of my accompanying documents for students visa?
Addressed copies of transcripts of the universities I gradauted from are not given to students, they will be sent by courier, hence I only have photocopy. Is the photocopy of the transcript appropiate?
Is it compulsory to add the birth certificates of all family members?

Thank you very much everyone for helpful answers you have been providing.

I need to ask if I can apply for TRV with a passport that will expire in October for September term.

Secondly, I had a scholarship of 30,000 CAD/year which will cover my tuition and upkeep, and so far I have got an assurance from my cooperative that 2,000,000 Naira can be provided as loan apart from the money in my account? They are ready to back this up with a letter, Am I good to go with this for funding?

Or do I need to provide addition proof of fund to the embassy?

Hello,
Congrats
Submit photocopies only for credentials and marriage certificate but your admission letter should be the original plus a photocopy
2. Yes, it's good you submit an additional proof of fund if available even though the scholarship covers your cost
All the best.
Good day everyone,
First, I need to commend this thread @justwise and evryone. You are amazing. This is great. May God bless you.
I got a PhD admission in UWO with 30000CAD scholarship. Please, I need answer to the following questions:
1. While submitting my documents, do I need to submit the original copies of my certificates (including marriage certificate)and transcript
2. Secondly, do I need additional proof of sufficient fund considering the fact that the scholarship will cover my living cost.

Thanks, do I need original transcripts also. Universities will not give them by hand.
