Nigeria Will Collapse If Buhari Wins 2019 – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Makes U Turn, Disapproves Buhari’s 2nd Tenure. admin 1 week ago Breaking News Leave a comment 69,818 Views A former president of Nigeria and chairman of advisors of the Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who in his recent statement that made headlines said that he will support President Muhammadu Buhari if he bid’s to go for a second term in office. He made this statement having ditched the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), which brought him to power for eight years, Obasanjo threw his weight behind Buhari and inevitably The All Progressive Congress (APC) came up against the PDP administration led by former president Goodluck Ebere Jonathan. But that was in the past, because in this recent brief interview by a journalist after Obasanjo delivered a speech titled “Leader In African Context” at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford on Monday. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said in his comment that ‘Nigeria Will Collapse if Buhari wins in 2019 general elections’. http://trendingnewsngn.com/2018/03/07/nigeria-will-collapse-if-buhari-wins-2019-former-president-olusegun-obasanjo-makes-u-turn/ |
Just like that Saraki is taking the FG to the cleaners on this he really played his card well. Tinubu is the biggest loser here after all. Saraki is truly smarter than I thought. Democracy can rest in pieces for all I care under this useless APC government whose ugly house had long been divided. |
Inside the Lagos/Visionscape deal that costs taxpayers up to N85bn by PATRICK ATUANYA March 14, 2018 2:55 pm In 2016, Akinwunmi Ambode the Lagos State Governor had a bright idea to reform the established Waste Management processes for one of the largest cities in the world. He would consolidate the various environmental policies in the state including restructuring of the existing waste collection and management system to ensure efficiency and incorporate global best practices. Soon, the Government of Lagos State of Nigeria through the Ministry of the Environment introduced the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI) backed by a recently passed Environmental Management and Protection Law. The Lagos State Government then awarded contracts to the Visionscape Sanitations Solutions limited and its strategic partners for deployment of waste management infrastructure. Visionscape Group executed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 23, 2017 authorising the incorporation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (“SPV”) – the Municipality Waste Management Contractors Limited for the purpose of issuing Medium Term Notes (bonds) to finance implementation of the CLI. In an unprecedented move the State Executive Council at a meeting held on March 21, 2017 passed a resolution to secure the financing structure adopted by the Consortium to raise funds for the project via issuance of an Irrevocable Standing Payment Order (ISPO) as a charge on the State Internally Generated Revenue account/ Environmental Trust Fund. This meant the Lagos State Government was basically agreeing to be on the hook in case of default for a N50 billion bond programme the Visionscape Group through its SPV was set to issue. A letter from the State Government seen by BusinessDay which was dated 20th April 2017, signed by the Director of Treasury operations and Permanent Secretary/Accountant General of Lagos State and addressed to Municipality Waste Management Contractors Limited, said: “Pursuant to the Lagos State Executive Council Resolution (Ref. No.SSG/CO/S.126/VOL.XVI/60) passed on the Provision of a Guarantee for the above mentioned contract, and following the execution of State wide Residential and General Waste Collection Agreement between Visionscape Sanitation Solutions Limited, and the Lagos State Government, and under which Agreement the LASG is required to issue to the Contractor a guarantee, I am directed to convey the approval for an Irrevocable Standing Payment Order (ISPO) in respect of the above referenced Contract Agreement.” The letter goes on to read : “Consequent upon the above, this office would implement the monthly remittance of the gross sum of Seven Hundred and Thirteen Million, Seven Hundred Thousand Naira Only (NGN713,700,000) as a first line charge from the revenue account of Lagos State Government which is to commence in June 2017 and terminate in June 2027.” The consequence of this is that in a 1 year period the state would spend N8.56 billion as guarantees for the bond and be on the hook for about N85 billion over the 10 year timeline on just this one transaction. Armed with the letter, the Visionscape Group now began to market the first tranche of its proposed bond issuance, a N27 billion, 17.5 percent, fixed rate 5 year bond due 2022, to high net worth individuals. Ratings agency Agusto & co rated the debt offer from the relatively unknown SPV an A+ largely on the back of the Lagos State guarantee. The information memorandum (issued in lieu of a prospectus for private placements) sent out to prospective investors and seen by BusinessDay, included an excerpt from Agusto & co that said: “We estimate that the duly executed ISPO on Lagos State’s revenue account constitutes sufficient security for the issue as the remittances…will be adequate to cover the cumulative obligations (coupon payments and principal repayments) of the Series 1 Note 1.03 times.” Lagos is Nigeria’s largest city and financial hub with a GDP that is bigger than that of major African countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Ghana. With a population estimated by the state at over 20 million as at 2015, and growing at an average rate of 3 percent, over 10,000 tons of waste is produced by residents in Lagos daily. BusinessDay had numerous interviews for this story with analysts and market operators who preferred to speak anonymously although the common thread was that the State government should have been careful especially in dismantling the former waste management agreements and in appointing a new firm to oversee Waste collection in the state. It is understandable many chose to speak annonymously as Lagos State remains a lucrative partner to do business with. Take the five firms which brought the N27 billion Visionscape bond to market last year led by lead issuing house and arranger Eczellon Capital. They earned N967 million in total from the deal or 3.85 percent of issue size, according to data from the information memorandum. The big problem though for the State Government and its plan to reform the waste management process in the state is that the coming on board of Visionscape has coincided with a return of trash heaps and dirt across most roads and streets in Lagos. “They have bitten off more than they can chew. This was supposed to be a wholesale change but it has now unravelled,” said Feyi Fawehinmi, accountant and writer based in the U.K. “The other big challenge now is that the Public Utility Levy (PUL) which was supposed to fund this has not been rolled out and will be a lot more difficult to do given the current tax climate. In the meantime the state Govt is paying Visionscape N1.5bn per month. So we need a lot more transparency around this deal and for the state to treat it as a crisis and find a way to walk some of it back. There appears to be no future for Visionscape to make this work,” Fawehinmi told BusinessDay. Once ranked as one of the dirtiest cities in the world, Lagos state which had unprecedented piles of waste competing with pedestrians and vehicles in 1999 got a facelift after the Lagos state government carried out various reforms to improve the Private Sector Participants (PSP) in waste management. A trip to various parts of the state last week, particularly Surulere, Egbeda, Agege, Idumota, Lagos badagry expressway from Alakija to Orile, Alapere, Ikorodu, Jibowu, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos Island and broad street revealed an overwhelming volume of waste spilling over from bins and open spaces converted to dumpsites. ‘‘Solid waste if not managed will be a breeding ground for rodents and varmints like rats which could spread Lassa fever,’’ said Bayo Onajole, a public health expert at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH. ‘‘It also allows contamination of water bodies and it can lead to ill-health. People will come down with health defects and economically, it’s a loss of revenue to the state.’’ According to Oladipo Egbeyemi, the chairman of Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria, 80 percent of their work was conceded to a foreign company (Visionscape) risking their N6bn investment and the livelihood of over 35,000 employees. The chairman said after a meeting with Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos state governor, PSP operators were told to explore the possibilities of working with Visionscape. ‘‘Immediately after the meeting, we tried to engage with Visionscape. We asked for their terms of engagement and mode of operations, and we did all that was required of us. I and my executives also met with John Irvine, the CEO of Visionscape and he promised us that he has intentions of working with us. we expect that by now negotiations would have been concluded but unfortunately we are yet to see anything in black and white to signify interest,’’ Egbeyemi said. Attempts to get comments from Visionscape proved abortive, as numerous calls put to the Dubai listed number on the firms website went unanswered. When BusinessDay contacted, Segun Adeniji, the managing director of Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA, he said the agency, Visionscape and some local governments are collaborating to evacuate the trash. ‘‘We are working night and day to ensure that the refuse are removed. This is a transition period and these problems will be there while we are transiting but I assure you that very soon all these will be over,’’ Adeniji said. The Visionscape group projected in the information memorandum that about N16.3 billion of the bond proceeds will be used to acquire fleet for the transfer loading stations, strategic acquisitions and related infrastructure, expected by September 30, 2017. Containers and operational equipment is to cost N3.13 billion, and waste facilities upgrade N2.58 billion, while working capital would gulp N2.5 billion. Also embedded in the Information Memorandum documents is a disclosure that the Visionscape SPV is expected to incur management fees of N406.2 million for 2017, which moves up 101 percent to N820 million in 2018, while projecting an operating loss of N508.4 million for 2017. BusinessDay digging into the ownership structure of Visionscape shows that ABC Sanitations Solutions Limited accounts for a 15 percent stake in the Visionscape SPV and is in a strategic partnership with CSH Environmental. CSH environmental is a UK based company that is a family owned British waste disposal business. On the board of Visionscape is a Nigerian Niyi Makanjuola a founding director of Caverton Offshore Support Group, information from the company website shows. “Lagos has gotten progressively less transparent today, they don’t even bother,” said Tunde Leye, Consulting Partner at SBM Intelligence. “Under the previous Governor Fashola for example, even though the budget was not detailed, you could find procurement information on the LASG website (that’s how we knew how much he spent on the website or boreholes for example). We know exactly the cost of building the Lekki Ikoyi Bridge. Compare to Ambode where we do not know how much he spent to build the Ajah flyover or anything else. Civil society has tried to invoke the freedom of information (FOI) act repeatedly but they have either been ignored or blown off. Lagos is very opaque.” http://www.businessdayonline.com/inside-lagosvisionscape-deal-costs-taxpayers-n85bn/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Bitterleafsoup:My take on what Atiku has to offer is very simple; he was the head of the National Economic Council (NEC) under Obasanjo that sets Nigeria on a pedestal that was able to pay off backlog of unpaid arrears of civil servants, gave our telecommunication a new facelift, brought life to Nigeria's GDP and Forex, boost economic strength of Nigeria by opening Nigeria's frontiers of business to the outside world thereby boosting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the process. I want to believe that a man that had done this to a Country as an administrator and also being a successful business man over the years deserve to govern Nigeria come 2019! I, Tomakint, will cast my vote for Atiku when the time comes. He is to Nigeria what Trump is to America in the area of economic policies that work! |

Buhari is a goner there is no point talking too much about him! |
ELECTION IS A GAME OF NUMBERS: POLITICAL LESSON SOUTHWEST MUST LEARN! In this piece, I am going to analytically examine the political influence of Southwest in the 2011 and 2015 Presidential Elections in Nigeria and their impacts. 2011 number of Registered Voters for election = 73,528,040 2011 number of Registered Voters who voted = 39,469,484 2011 number of valid votes counted = 38,209,978 2011 number of invalid votes not counted = 1,259,506 2011 number of Registered Voters who did not vote = 34,058,556 2011 votes scored by Presidential candidates: Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (PDP) = 22,495,187 Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (CPC) = 12,214,853 PDP won the election with a margin of 10,280,334 votes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2015 number of Registered Voters for election = 68,833,476 2015 number of Registered Voters who voted = 29,432,083 2015 number of valid votes counted = 28,587,564 2015 number of invalid votes not counted = 844,519 2015 number of Registered Voters who did not vote = 39,401,393 2015 votes scored by Presidential candidates: Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (APC) = 15,424,921 Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (PDP) = 12,853,162 APC won the election with a margin of 2,572,759 votes. Too close to call. Going by the 2015 elections, let's assume we remove this winning margin (2,572,759) from the 39 million + that never voted, you have over 36 million that can cause damage to any political party if only these undecided or nonchalant voters are well courted and encouraged on the importance for them to vote. Catching 70% of these lots is ok for a winning party with a plan. We have almost 40 million Nigerians that did not vote in 2015 and the questions are; Who are they? Where are they and which party and candidates will they vote for in 2019? Are they willing to be convinced now to vote in 2019 or still back off like they did in 2015? Which of the candidates will likely catch their fancies? Time will tell very soon but not without the cooperation and sincerity of operations on the part of INEC that appears compromised through the illegal registration of underage voters up North. My prediction is that any party that penetrates social media, presents a vibrant and formidable well known candidate that understands how modern politics affects the masses and aids employments drive and can articulate this very well in form of his manifestoes before the public and do lots of grass-root works will definitely win 2019 Presidential Elections! The Alleged SouthWest Influence In Presidential Elections: Busting The Myth! The PDP National Convention has come and gone, though many are comfortable with the outcome, but few are not, believing that they were sidelined. These few are the Southwest political gladiators in the convention ground who felt they were shortchanged and promised to fight the party's newly elected leadership structure to a halt. They believe it will be a political disaster for the PDP to ignore them in the scheme of things especially as 2019 election approaches. Well, the facts are stated below on what Southwest importance is to a Presidential elections using 2011 and 2015 examples, we can only hope that the Southwest will prove us wrong in 2019. 2011 Presidential Elections In 2011 elections, the National election turnout was 52.3%, while turn out in the North was 52.8%, turn out in South East (66.9) and South South (67.0%) while South West was 32.8% and they repeated this low turn out in 2015 again. It must be noted that other regions either fell within the national average or exceeded it, South West was the only region that went below it by 37%, while South East and South South both exceeded it by 27.0%. At the end of the election, out of the 16,290,593 votes cast in the South, the South West contributed 28.3% by casting only 4,613,712 votes, leaving South East and South South to provide the remaining 71.7%, casting 11,676,881 from both regions. Out of this 16,290,593 votes cast in the South, 13,890,271 votes were cast for PDP. South West (with 6 States) even though it has the highest population in the South contributed only 20% of those votes by casting 2,786,417 votes, leaving South East (with 5 States) with the lowest population and South South (with 6 States) with the median population to contribute the other 80%, at 36% and 44% respectively and casting 4,985,246 and 6,118,608 votes respectively. In this case, South West contributed only 12.3% of the entire 22,495,187 votes PDP got at the election, South East and South South contributed 49.4%, leaving the entire North (3 regions) and FCT to provide the other 38.3% It is important to point out that while South East gave 98.3% of their votes to PDP, South South gave 96.3%, while South West 60.4%, making them the only region that doesn't give bloc votes, while South East and South south remain PDP's strongest holds. 2015 Presidential Elections In 2015, South West gave 1,851,416 votes to PDP while 2,433,193 votes went to APC, making APC win South West by a meager votes of 581,777 advantage. Anambra in the South East rendered useless this plus of 581,777 votes in Southwest by giving PDP 660,762, returning advantage to PDP by 78,985 votes. It is important to point out that since majority of the 1,851,416 votes to PDP were gotten from Igbo dominated areas, should South West vote the way they did in 2015, Anambra will always be on ground to restore advantage. South West gave 43.2% of their votes to PDP, South East gave 93.0% of their votes to PDP while South South gave 91.8%. This again confirms South East and South south as PDP's strongest holds and South West as the only region that doesn't give bloc votes in the South. Again, South West contributed 14.4% of the total PDP's votes of 12,853,162 and 15.8% of APC's votes, South South and South East contributed 55.9% of PDP's votes and 4.0% of APC's votes leaving the entire North and FCT to contibute the other 29.7% of PDP's votes and 80.2% of APC's votes. This is captured here under these four determining factors; 1. In 2011, assuming South West gave 100% of their votes to Buhari's CPC who came second and gave nothing to PDP and other parties, Jonathan's PDP would have still won the election by 5,771,459 votes. This is captured here; South West voted 2,786,417 for PDP; 1,369,943 for ACN; 321,609 to CPC and 30,906 for ANPP. (totalling 4,508,875 votes which if subtracted from the winning margin of PDP's 10,280,334 will still give PDP a huge 5,771,459 margin) 2. In 2015, assuming South West as a region decided not to vote at all, Buhari would have still won by 1,989,982 votes. 3. In 2015, assuming South West APC decided not to vote, allowing only South West PDP to vote for Jonathan, Buhari would have still won by 138,566 votes. 4. Maybe as a result of faulty card readers recorded in the South East and South South during the election, which even caused His Excellency, the former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to try 7 times before being captured. The turn out in SE fell from 66.9% in 2011 to 37% in 2015 and turn out in the South South fell from 67% in 2011 to 56% in 2015, while South West got the same turn out as in 2011. In the North, turn out in 2015 was 54.4% in Kebbi, 60% in Zamfara, while Boko Haram infested Borno, Adamawa and Yobe had an average turn out of 41.7%. Assuming South East and South South alone voted in 2015 the way they did in 2011, with the other 4 regions and FCT voting like they did in 2015, Jonathan would have gotten 16,777,385 votes, beating Buhari with 1,352,464 votes. In summary, experience from 1999 has taught us that South West PDP supporters are mainly Igbos and Niger Deltans, while South West APC (which metamorphosed from ACN) are mainly Yorubas. Statistics from 2011 Presidential election equally confirms this. In that year, South West as a region alone, fielding a Northerner, Mallam Ribadu running on a Yoruba regional party ACN, gave the party 65.9% of its total votes, while contributing 89% of the Party's votes from the South; and South East and South South provided the other 11%. This same statistics reflected in the 2007 Presidential Elections when His Excellency, the former Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, ran on the ACN (then AC) platform. As it stands today, the South West appears incapacitated to offer bloc votes. Hence, no matter who South West APC vote for, they clearly lack the bloc votes (despite having the capacity) that can influence the outcome of any Presidential election. Their votes are just formalities at least judging from the simple analysis above and this ought not to be so in this modern age of electoral reforms and awareness! This is to bury the myth that Southwest are power changers in the political terrain of Nigeria except they choose to walk the talk in 2019 by turning out to vote in their large numbers as experienced in other geopolitical zones within the Southern region. It is crystal clear that votes from Southwest are mainly buoyed by votes from Northwest and Northeast since 2011 till date with the clear exception of 1999 when most Southwesterners voted enmasse for Chief Olu Falae, candidate of the AD/APP merged party as against a fellow Southerner, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo of the PDP. To buttress on this, I will use the 2011 Presidential elections as my example. In the South, the Southwest recorded the lowest number of eventual voters from those that were registered by INEC. In the Southwest, 14,296,163 registered as voters only 4,613,712 (32%) turned out to vote leaving out a huge 9,682,451 (68%) registered voters that failed to vote. Southeast had 7,577,212 as registered voters and ended up producing 5,072,321 (67%) eventual voters leaving a mere 2,504,891 (33%) electorates who failed to turn up for the voting exercise. The South-south zone had 9,474,427 registered voters and 6,351,116 (67%) turned up to vote while 3,123,311 (33%) failed to show up. Judging from the above, it is no brainer to conclude that Southwest appears to be the weakest link in the region despite being in a better position to deliver bloc votes but keeps denying itself of such potentials because of negligence and laziness of the electorates due to poor education on the importance of voting. I think if Southwest must be taken seriously as a force to reckon with, it needs to work on its lapses which had become somewhat perennial. I conclude by saying, if election must counts in this coming 2019 then we all have a lot to do for the sake of our future as citizens of this great country and as stakeholders. Many people turned up in the electoral exercise of 2011 than what was experienced in 2015 which is not a good trend. 2019 beckons, and we have many roles to play by turning out in our large numbers more than what we gave in 2011 and make sure our votes count. I Urge You All To Do The RSVP – Register, Select, Vote and Protect. Register – Register With INEC, Pick Your Permanent Voters Card-PVC; Select - Select Your Party of Choice and Candidate; Vote – Vote not Fight and; Protect – Protect Your Vote. Author: Tomakint |

tuniski:I have no doubt within me that Atiku had paid the supreme price of sacrifice to emerge as Nigeria's next President, come 2019! |
This is too gross for comfort. I don't understand why blacks celebrate mediocrity. |
Atiku in the cause of carrying out his official job in utmost dedication and zeal , was able to find the hands of destiny in two persons. One was a Retired General in the Nigeria Army, Late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua , Tafidan Nigeria, and the other person was an Italian business man, Mr Gabriel Volpi. While Yar’Adua was very much instrumental to Atiku’s political ascendency, Mr Volpi became the forerunner who indoctrinated Atiku with business practices outside government confines, ushering winning business strategies and enabling nuances that culminated into a meteoric rise that have made Atiku to soar in business and political world like an eagle. Nicote, a little business outfit domiciled in a container office in Apapa Port, was later grown into a multinational oil and gas logistics company, which is today called INTELS. INTELS story is a case of a business model that has worked. Today INTELS employs Nigerians and foreigners and they are paid in dollars. The standard of staff welfare is higher than that of Shell Petroleum and NNPC. INTELS has grown into a multi-billion naira business across various oil and gas countries in the gulf of Guinea. You see? Atiku is a consummate business man . It is obvious that Atiku has worked and utililised both human and financial resources to generate cash flow, sale and revenue. Atiku’s penchant for due process has always endeared him to destiny helpers. Little wonder why he found and earned the love and favour of Late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua. Yar’Adua and Atiku first met in mid 1980s when Yar’Adua was looking for a licence to import beans from Niger Republic and to be sold in Nigeria. On that encounter, Atiku gave him vital information on how to go about the business and at the end, Yar’Adua got his licence. Late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua served in the Nigeria Army ; he was second in command in Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo military regime between 1976 and 1979. Yar’Adua retired from the military and delved into business and politics. He was one of the greatest political strategists in Africa. He believed in the act of empowering and making people. He was a detribalised Nigerian. Soon Atiku retired from the Nigerian Custom Service , 1988 and joined politics fully. He became a political associate of Yar’Adua and both in unison re-engineered the Nigerian political landscape. They added vigour and interest into politics. Business men , civil servants were all enticed to join politics. From the Yar’Adua Group, they floated a political mobilization group called Peoples Front of Nigeria (PFN) and Atiku became the National Vice Chairman in charge of outreach and setting up grassroots structures. These were the structure used in mobilising Nigerians into her political consciousness. The vibrancy of the movement was made to permeate across every nook and cranny of our national fibre. The incursion was so deep , thorough and elegantly executed. The grassroots importance was brought to the fore , then every Nigerian became a devotee of Yar’Adua and Atiku-all these were laid towards Yar’Adua becoming the President of Nigeria and succeeding the then incumbent President Ibrahim Babangida. Not so long the drive and penetration of Yar’Adua and Atiku blossomed then the military tried to stop them. On October 7, 1989, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida GCFR , announced the banning of all political associations that were floated by old politicians and he introduced two party system. The Social Democratic Party(SDP) and the National Republican Convention(NRC). Yar’Adua and Atiku pitched a tent with the SDP , in 1992 Yar’Adua contested presidential primary under SDP, and he won but Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) cancelled it. When it became certain that the military were after Yar’Adua, he stopped contesting and rather supported Atiku Abubakar to contest the presidential primary. Atiku then capitalised on the structure already laid to wrest power with co-contestants. Atiku contested SDP presidential primary alongside Babagana Kingibe, and MKO Abiola , and Abiola won. This is to remind us what we know very well , that Atiku is not just a learner in the business of politics. He has the right experience and the right character. Somehow, Atiku had been continuously been denied and disfavoured in the politics of Nigeria after the death of Late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua. To reflect and compensate the dogged political actions of Atiku and Yar’Adua, when PDP was founded and further produced a President in the name of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Obasanjo picked Atiku as his Vice President. That was not because Obasanjo liked Atiku, it was just because of Atiku’s burgeoning political clout , which later counted as his albatross as Obasanjo could not allow the young Atiku to grow. Obasanjo became jealous and started setting traps for Atiku. Obasanjo who just came out of prison to access presidency on a platter of gold, pretended that he was not going to stay long in power, as if the “Mandela Way” of one term of office would be enough for him. He called Atiku names, but no one could believe that Baba was planning to elongate his tenure beyond the normal two-term. Ghana-Must -Go lexicon was introduced into Nigerian political language. Baba could not help either, as he preferred Aso-Rock as final destination rather than a thoroughfare . Baba wanted to stay forever in Aso-Rock. Atiku who discovered a Mugabe in Nigerian skin became a victim. Money was terribly distributed in the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly. It was a show of shame. Atiku who was wrongly accused of betrayal was then vindicated. Sincerely, some past military leaders are what Nigeria is suffering. They have resolved to fight and stop whoever will liberate Nigeria from its economic woes. Read your history, these same people stopped Gen. Murtala Mohammed, they stopped Abiola , they stopped the Yar’Aduas , they stopped Dr Alex Ekwueme and they stopped Atiku in the past. But with the present Nigerian political dynamics, which highly tend in favour of Atiku Abubakar , the old guards will do nothing; l only enjoin them to follow Atiku for a well articulated Nigeria. God’s hands is with Atiku. Atiku Abubakar has all it takes to fix Nigeria. As a business man , just like Donald Trump of American, Atiku knows how to mobilize both human and material resources to build the economy of Nigeria. Atiku mobilized some persons who worked during Obasanjo/Atiku administration, the likes of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Mallam Nasir Elrufai, Mallam Huhu Ribadu, Dr Ibrahim Dankwambo etc. Then the Nigerian economy came to a steady growth. To reiterate , Atiku Abubakar before now ought to have become the Nigerian President but for some men who still see him as a threat. Atiku becoming a President , no doubt . Nigeria will be good for it. Do you know that Atiku has friends and loyalists across the various contending political divides? In APC Atiku has 60% of his people waiting, in PDP Atiku has 57% of his people waiting and in Third-Force Atiku has 65% of his people waiting. Other sympathy supporters are still expected and these percentages have kept increasing astronomically at various blocs . This is Atiku’s time. Do you know that Atiku fathers Nigeria? Unlike his co-contestants, Atiku married wives from the North as well as the South. Titi Albert is from the South while Fatima Shettima is from the North; Jamila Jennifer Iwenjora is from the South and Princess Rukaiyatu is from the North. Atiku could not restrict his fortunes to just tendering, loving and keeping just a northern woman, he extended his liberal nature southwards. You see? Through common consanguinity as espoused by Atiku , his children are our brothers and sisters here in Southern Nigeria. Atiku Abubakar does not discriminate. Now , for you Nigerian electorate, who loved and voted MKO Abiola, 1993 and wish to replay history, here is Atiku Abubakar. Atiku’s good hands have become the bridge that links aggrieved PDP members who deserve justice. Atiku is now a father figure in PDP . Atiku is a harbinger of unity. Atiku started the message of Restructuring the Nigerian political Structures long ago before this latest politically attuned impetus. Atiku has the right diplomacy and wherewithal to curtail the herdsmen/farmers clashes. Atiku has the expertise to revive the Nigerian economy that nobody will ever think of attempting corruption in Nigeria. Remember it was Atiku who started the EFCC with Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. I have put up this as a challenge. Whoever knows any leader in the northern Nigeria that has the combination of excellent qualities that cover : Civil/Public Service, Business and Politics, let that man or woman come forward. We have searched and found Atiku Abubakar very good to go. Therefore, I call on Nigerian teeming youths, women and men, to equip yourselves with Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and let us vote Atiku Abubakar 2019. A word is enough for the wise Let us walk with ATIKU to take it. BODUNRIN ORIADE , is a Marketing Communications Consultant. He is based in Abuja and Port Harcourt. |
VOICE OF ATIKU 2019 THAT THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE WILL NOT MISS ROAD 2019...Let us walk with ATIKU. BY BODUNRIN ORIADE We have searched. Yes, our committee members have searched and have found. Committee members made up of renowned and well endowed able bodied Nigerian youths , who have resolved to fathom out solutions to tackle the Nigerian age-long problem of bad leadership. We searched eastwards, to the west and to the south, then making inroads to the northern Nigeria, where we stopped our search. The liberation search has provided us with revelations of political events thus far, which obviously will play out on countdown to 2019 elections, especially on the presidential election and these have enabled us to make germane submissions and create a template to guide the Nigerian electorate in making informed decisions. Our search made us to discover that the Nigerian political environment has improved greatly owing to the recent mass awareness by the citizens on the powers of electorate to effect positive changes both politically and economically. The progress made in Nigerian politics has been exponentially influenced by the decision of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to concede defeat to the emerging APC in 2015 presidential election. This feat, no doubt, has boosted the political system, more so the electoral process in Nigeria, since every vote must now count. The Nigerian electoral process has now become competitive. The federal might has been demystified as Abuja usual and past undue meddlesomeness is now being demolished. Our search made us to discover that Nigeria has organically grown to naturally tend towards a formidable two major party system, just like the American model , which revolves amongst many other political parties, but very unlike the two party system foisted on Nigeria in 1989 by the military junta. Now you see? Where and when one political party is not performing, the other will naturally come into power. It simply means when PDP is not performing, APC will take over power and when APC is not performing, PDP will take over. In all this, the electorate will continue to be the umpire. We equally discovered that some old politicians who have seen these improvements and blessings that are coming to Nigeria, have planned to twist the unfolding dynamics. They are now forming Coalition for Nigeria Movement(CNM) hopefully, to have a large chunk of the umpire’s deciding business. But thanks to experience! Nigerians are now experienced and smarter . You fool us once? Shame to you, but fool us twice? Shame to us. Truly, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, has become a recurring decimal in the political calculations of our great country. Chief Obasanjo has never ceased to surprise Nigerians. He will always jump ship whenever his ego is no more being massaged. Thank God at present he has resolved to remain neutral , which is worthy of a true statesman. Obasanjo’s constant political adventure and participation, has interestingly really helped him to maintain vigour and vitality, and this has further made Obasanjo to continue to age with grace . But now that Baba has vowed to stay in between and watch the events of 2019 Election “Battle Royal” from Ota Farm, we pray that seats in his house will contain him and that his inherent political adrenaline will discontinue to surge wantonly. When Baba tore his PDP membership card, we thought it was all over for him in active politics , but little did we know that Baba was actively on a revenge mission to chastise the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan with APC horse- whip. Also during our search, we reviewed the tenets of the job of the newly created Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) otherwise called the Third-Force and we discovered that their paramount aim for coming on board, was to sway emotions and build up perceptions that would influence the decisions of the electorate. For Chief Obasanjo , who is the chief anchor of the movement, how the pendulum swings , is his newly found job. From his letter to the incumbent President Mohammadu Buhari, GCFR , it has logically become obvious that when APC presents Buhari as candidate for the presidential election 2019, Obasanjo and his followers will vote PDP, since PDP might be the only alternative available. We also discovered that most members of the Third-Force were on ego trip. Just mere ego and shame could not allow some of them to return to PDP. They have decided to stick to Baba. Unfortunately some of them still want to aspire politically by contesting into elective positions. Yet, they have sheepishly followed Chief Obasanjo to retire. For Chief Obasanjo, the coalition will not transform into a political party but may ally with an existing political party with a promising candidate. But surprisingly other members of the coalition are surreptitiously putting up plans to metamorphose into a new political party. And, this I predict, will soon launch the coalition movement into a catastrophic collision course among her members. Therefore the Coalition euphoria is already fizzling out like a smoke. And then our search for who rules Nigeria, was taken to the northern Nigeria, there we discovered that the two major political parties, PDP and APC, would as a matter of political strategy and exigency of the moment , present northern candidates as presidential flag bearers 2019. Yes, both PDP and APC will fly northern candidates. We flashed our search light on the chances of APC winning 2019 presidential election, and we discovered that there were two things that APC must do. And for the PDP , careers of notable northerners were studied adequately. First we concluded and rejected the assumptions that a youth was what Nigeria needed to get the right leadership compass and to make Nigeria a developed nation. We jettisoned age as a factor and upheld experience and quality of an individual who aspires to leadership positions instead, and at the end , some young activists were able to find reasons and concurred accordingly. We looked at the ages of some of Nigerian past and present political leaders whether as Heads of state, Governors, Senators and Honourable members. Leaders who ruled and some making first encounter with power at various ages and at various levels as: Aguiyi Ironsi (42) , Murtala Mohammed (37) , Olusegun Obasanjo as military head (39) , Ibrahim Babangida (45) , Olagunsoye Oyilola(42) , Saminu Turaki(36) , Donald Duke(38) , Ayodele Fayose(43) , Dimeji Bankole(37) , Chimaroke Nnamani(39) , Peter Obi(45) , James Ibori(41) , Orji Uzor Kalu(39)., Ike Ekweremadu(41) , Bukola Saraki(41) , Yahaya Bello(41) , Ben Ayade(46). As you can see, these leaders were in their ages less than 50 years old, but Nigeria could not become Eldorado and yet to become most developed nation even in Africa. As some of these leaders accessed power through khaki and barrel pointing, others came to power through supposedly ballots. Though some performed exceedingly well while others did not do well at all, some today still struggle with payments of workers salaries. And Some who had the opportunities of returning to power by sheer providence of second chance could not fix the economy instead they bungled governance the more. So to govern a country does not tightly and positively correlate with the age of an individual but rather experience in appropriate government and private functions. This conclusion does not foreclose the ability of young people to lead a nation, it is only saying that as the young people might qualify to lead, so are the not too old-the senior citizens. What matters is , who has the right experience and what is the quality of this person? We limited our search for who becomes the next Nigerian President to the north ; this is in response to meeting up with the geopolitical power balancing between the north and the south. I know that some of the so called technocrats and over bloated elites would not understand this and as such, they would continue to question and argue , why the north ? So even when you try to explain they will ask you , why is Nigeria not like America? They have forgotten that every country has got its own cross to carry. In America , Barack Obama at age 47 regaled the citizens with rhetoric built on the vibes of reclaiming the American dream. People trusted his message and his audacity of hope and saw him as the change they needed at that point in time. As a young man Obama succeeded to an extent. But Donald Trump saw President Obama’s efforts in rebuilding America from different perspective and proposed a stronger economy for Americans. Donald Trump at age 71 , was able to match the Democrats word for word and action by action. At the end his background as a business man worked for him, when he said he was going to provide jobs for Americans , and that the people needed job, hence they trusted Mr Trump to provide it for them. No more rhetoric. But can you imagine? Just on the 7th of February, 2018 , during an interview with Arise Television, Mr Olisa Agbakoba,SAN, one of the proponents of Coalition for Nigeria Movement(CNM) , boasted of retiring PDP and APC. And during the interview he gave a clue that the coalition might align with a political party, but that he could not guarantee the Coalition turning into a political party. He was further asked of his intention to contest the presidency of Nigeria, he did not waste time to let the cat out of the bag. He said he was qualified and boasted further that he could reform Nigeria in six months. But on cursory investigation, Mr Agbakoba does not come from the northern Nigeria, where the candidates for the 2019 presidential contest are expected , according to the calculations of the two major political parties in Nigeria. Universally speaking, one does not become a President of a country without belonging to one of the two major political parties, especially in a country, where Independent Candidacy does not exist. This is a typical example of how our elites always misfire. In our search, three categories of human endeavours were considered to assess and to qualify who would lead Nigeria 2019. We considered : 1. Candidate’s Career in public/Civil service. 2. Candidate’s Career as a business man. 3. Candidate’s Career as a Politician. And the following political leaders were selected: 1. Ibrahim Shekarau. 2. Sule Lamido 3. Rabiu Kwankwanso 4. Atiku Abubakar 5.Ibrahim Dankwambo . No arguments about the above selected leaders being good in their different categories of political functions where they served , but not withstanding, comparatively, while some are more qualified than others, one of them is the best for Nigeria at this point in time. Let us assess the candidates one after the other: Sule Lamido—Considering the three criteria we set out to weigh the prospective contestants that is ( Public/Civil Service, Business and Politics) , Sule Lamido passed one out of the three. Sule Lamido was never a civil servant, if he was we could not trace it. Sule Lamido might have small business outfit but that did not qualify him as a business man like Late MKO Abiola or other notable business men. Sule Lamido is a good politician. Infact his foray into politics can be dated back to the Second Republic. He was one of the early adoptees into socialist movement of Late Aminu Kano of the Peoples Redemption Party(PRP). He had technically followed his senior political associate, Late Abubakar Rimi, former Executive Governor of Kano state, in whom Sule Lamido made exponential rise in politics, when Rimi became too touch to work with. The newly founded political platform of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) discovered a smooth operator in Sule Lamido , sooner than later, Lamido reaped the fruits of his loyalty to PDP as he was made Minister of Foreign Affairs 1999 and subsequently the Executive Governor of Jigawa State. Sule Lamido is very good in politics, but becoming a President in contemporary times means more than just being a politician. You must have the three criteria that we have set out. For instance, the last academic class attended by Sule Lamido was in Barewa College , Zaria, 1962. Ibrahim Shekarau— Mr Shekarau passed two out of the three criteria that we set out. Mr Shekarau was a teacher and school administrator. Shekarau is also a politician. Before venturing into politics Shekarau was a Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Education, Kano State. His position as top civil/public servant has equipped him with the act and skills of negotiation , especially with the labour unions and also the capability to manage people. Good. But Ibrahim Shekarau is not a business man. Like Sule Lamido , they are not verse in the context of commerce and economy. Though politics might be an instrument to steer the economy , but the economy remains the base of a nation. No economy, no nation , and there will be nothing to steer. Shekarau is a grassroots mobilizer in Kano State; this made him to win the gubernatorial election, 2003. His government was very close to the downtrodden in the society. Because of his austere nature , his people love him. Shekarau is well enlightened . But to become a President of a country in this dispensation of globalisation, knowledge of commerce and the economy as a whole is essential. Ibrahim Dankwambo--- Ibrahim Dankwambo is the present Governor of Gombe State. Ibrahim Dankwambo before becoming a Governor, was a civil servant. He was the Accountant General of Gombe State before becoming the Accountant General of the Federation. Mr Dankwambo has met two out of the three criteria that we set out. Mr Dankwambo has been on the government side and has never stood out as a business man. Though Mr Dankwambo appears to be younger compared to others but he lacks business experience. Therefore let us take it that Mr Dankwambo has got enough time to learn and practise business. He is still a work in progress. Let us see him as a presidential hopeful in the nearest future, but definitely not now - 2019. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso—Rabiu Kwankwaso was a civil servant in his state for some years before venturing into politics. He became Honourable House of Representatives member at age 32 and later two-term Governor of Kano State. In 2003 Kwankwaso was made Minister of Defence. At present Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is representing Kano Central as a Senator in National Assembly , Abuja. Kwankwaso no doubt was supposed to be one of the hopefuls for 2019 presidential election but his unending calculations and permutations in APC has stuck him to an infinite consideration. He is cashing on a scenario whereby President Buhari may not contest 2019. He is now neither here nor there. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is his mentor, let us expect Mr. Kwankwaso to be with Coalition for Nigeria Movement(CNM)- The Third-Force. He might be the surprise that Obasanjo wants to spring up. Today Mr Kwankwaso is in fierce loggerheads with his state Governor, Mr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje . The spread is no more Kwakwansiyya, it has since become Gandujiyya. Mr Kwankwaso is among those PDP leaders who are being expected back to PDP fold. Mr Kwankwaso is more of a Government man , a politician than a Business man. He passed two out of the three criteria. ATIKU ABUBAKAR—Amongst these great leaders that we have studied, Mr Atiku Abubakar , GCON, has all the three qualities that we set out to measure them. We discovered that Atiku Abubakar had already planned his political career long ago that it is now left for events and circumstances to be cascading and falling over one another, to make a well thought out plans fulfil naturally. I do not need to tell you that Atiku was a civil/public servant. Atiku was part of the hierarchy of the Nigerian Customs and that he was Deputy Director then equivalent to Deputy Comptroller General now. Atiku’s position in the customs availed him the opportunities to understudy the internal dynamics and flow of international trade including all bilateral and multilateral engagements that countries are exposed to. Atiku cut his entrepreneurial teeth at a very tender age and unleashed the passion when he humbly ventured into business activities such as: Real Estate, Agriculture, Trading, Manufacturing etc. |
Sounds Presidential right there. President Atiku, I think it sounds so good and smooth. |

Published on March 6, 2018 By Seun Opejobi A group of Northern Youths has threatened legal actions against former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, if he fails to run for the Presidency in 2019. The Youth under the umbrella of Turaki Vanguard Youths and Women Mobilization Group said Abubakar should run for Presidency because he was the only credible candidate from the North-East. Addressing journalists in Kaduna, national chairman of the body, Zachariah Diwong said the Waziri of Adamawa is the only credible Nigerian that had the capacity to transform the country. Diwong also noted that the former Vice President was the most youths friendly leader that has mentored Nigerian youth over the years. According to Diwong, “For equity, justice and fairness, we believe it is time for the entire north to support somebody from the northeast to as our President. And Atiku is the best from that region. “Atiku Abubakar is a tested and trusted individual who has the capacity to transform Nigeria better than what it is today. “Nobody from the North Eastern Nigeria is most qualify than the former Vice President. He is the man that knows Nigeria. The man who has been in the policy making of Nigeria. A philanthropist. “For these reasons and many more, we the Youth from the Northwest hereby endorsed Atiku Abubakar for presidency come 2019 and failure to contest, legal actions will be taken.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/03/06/2019-presidency-will-atiku-fails-contest-arewa-youths/ |
Published on March 6, 2018 By John Owen Nwachukwu A former Senatorial aspirant and Director-General of Atikunation, Fateema Mohammed, has declared that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo cannot stop ex-Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from becoming Nigeria’s President in 2019. She said it was obvious that the next president of the country should be Atiku, adding Obasanjo is not God’s personal assistant. When asked how she intends to convince people to support Atiku, considering his fracas with Obasanjo, Mohammed told Daily Sun, “When you have a good product you don’t need to go through the stress of hyping the product. Atiku is the most sell-able candidate. The politics of the south-west is very dynamic; we have a lot of people who are exposed and knowledgeable. “When you talk about APC it was Atiku’s money that helped the party to stand today and from the day he left APC, you will have seen that the party has taken a dive for the worse. “It is simply because one of its pillars just left. Selling him is not a problem at all. He is the largest employer of labour in Nigeria. He is the benefactor of over 50,000 employees. “He is a lover of youth and a detribalised Nigerian. He has wives from south-west and south-east. He believes in the girl child. He lives and says that he will give hope to the women and all that. “Above all, he believes in restructuring. Is Obasanjo God or is he God’s Personal Assistant. Obasanjo has just one vote. He cannot determine who will be president. Obasanjo will be alive when Atiku will become president. He cannot stop Atiku.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/03/06/2019-presidency-obasanjo-cant-stop-atiku-mohammed/ |
Published on March 6, 2018 By Sylvester Ugwuanyi Former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, who now leads the National Intervention Movement, NIM, has observed that the political battle former vice president, Atiku Abubakar fought with his former principal, Olusegun Obasanjo, has put the former in a position where some Nigerians do not think he can win the 2019 elections. The senior advocate, who made this assertion in an interview with DAILY POST, was, however quick to point out that Obasanjo is not the Nigerian electorate, and that Atiku would be a good candidate if the voting public supports the former vice president’s ambition. DAILY POST recalls that former president, Goodluck Jonathan had advised Atiku to seek reconciliation with Obasanjo if his dream of becoming President must be realized, asserting that any “politician who ignores Obasanjo does so at its own peril”. But Agbakoba insisted in a chat with our correspondent that Obasanjo has only one vote, adding that the former vice president is detribalized with enough energy to lead Nigeria. But when asked if Atiku has reached out to the NIM, he answer was a ‘no’. He said, “Somebody like Atiku Abubakar may or may not be a partner we can work with because it is about national perception. If the perception is that working with him will not assist us then we would not, but if the perception is that working with him is something that the Nigerian voters accept then we will. “My perception is that his political battle with Obasanjo has tended to put him in a light that Nigerians may not see him as a person that can rule Nigeria in 2019. There is a perception on that and the other is that Atiku is aged but young with enough energy and detribalized to bring about the Nigerian dream. So it’s about perception. “For instance, when we go into town hall meetings, supposed that we invited him to come and talk to us and we discovered that from the responses and national random opinion, the public identified him as one of the potentially good leaders Nigeria has and if he is identified as someone we can work with, then we can work with him regardless of Obasanjo’s opinion of Atiku. Obasanjo is not the Nigerian voting public. He’s only got one vote. “If the Nigerian voting public supports Atiku, that makes him a good candidate. In politics, you must amplify the voice of the voter, not your own voice. I might not like Atiku as a person but if the voting public wants him to be given a chance, then it is something we can look at, but we have not reached that stage.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/03/06/2019-agbakoba-speaks-atikus-ambition-obasanjo/ |
Tinubu like I was telling someone that he had only succeeded in raising political bastards when from all inclinations the enemies fighting him are from within and they are Yorubas (Fashola, Fayemi, Akeredolu, etc) if he can't win those former loyalists I mentioned, I wonder how he like a sheep going to the slaughter house took over the appointment of being a chairman of the Reconciliatory Committee when his former lieutenants have already exposed his secrets to Buhari. Good morning Bola Tinubu this is payback time! |
Somehow, Tunde Bakare just campaigned for PDP indirectly here. It is official, PDP has come to stay! |
deji17:.......and he thinks this is a funny matter most times I feel like saying something negative to horrible folks like this dude here but I am consoled by the fact that they don't matter. No reasonable human being will ask for Buhari again only useless human demons do that |
This OP might be a second in command to the Devil himself in the Game of Lies because I can see many usual lies and propaganda from his mumu post. Always blaming and not proffering solutions |
My take on what Atiku has to offer is very simple; he was the head of the National Economic Council (NEC) under Obasanjo that sets Nigeria on a pedestal that was able to pay off backlog of unpaid arrears of civil servants, gave our telecommunication a new facelift, brought life to Nigeria's GDP and Forex, boost economic strength of Nigeria by opening Nigeria's frontiers of business to the outside world thereby boosting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the process. |
Israeli Ophthalmologists Invents Revolutionary Eyedrops that could Replace Eyeglasses The recently patented “nanodrops” has been found to improve the vision in pigs. Clinical testing on humans will be carried out later this year. By Kashyap Vyas February, 24th 2018 Lars Andreas/WikiMedia A team of Opthalmologists at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Bar-Ilan University’s Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials developed eye-drops that have been found to repair the corneas and improve short and long sightedness. The nanoparticle solution called as “nanodrops” was successfully used on pigs’ corneas. Clinical trials on humans are expected to be carried out later this year, and if successful, this revolutionary invention could potentially eliminate the need for eyeglasses. According to Dr. David Smadja, leader of the research team, the eye-drops could revolutionize ophthalmological and optometry treatments of patients suffering from myopia, hyperopia and other refractory conditions. The revolutionary breakthrough was revealed by Dr. Smadja on Wednesday at Shaare Zedek’s second biennial research day, which was held at Steinberg Auditorium in Jerusalem. He said that nanodrops could even be used to replace multifocal lenses and allow people to see object from different distances. “This is a new concept for correcting refractory problems,” Smadja said. He, however, did not mention how often the drops will require being applied to replace eyeglasses completely. According to the research abstract, the experiment led by Dr. Smadja and his colleagues involved analyzing refractive errors of pig eyes before and after instillation of nano drops filled with various concentration of synthetic nanoparticles. The results showed significant improvement in error correction for both myopic (near-sightedness) and hyperopic (far-sightedness) refractive error. If the results in humans are successful, prospective patients will simply require a smartphone app to scan the eyes, measure their refraction, create a laser pattern and then “laser corneal stamping” of an optical pattern onto the corneal surface of their eyes. The research from Smadja was one of the two chosen works by an impartial team of judges from 160 pieces of research carried out by Shaare Zedek physicians and nurses over the last two years. The hospital staff publishes around 330 articles every year in different medical and science journals through the Shaare Zedek Mada’it (Scientific), a research and development company established for hospital researchers. INNOVATION Charlie the robot makes eye-contact with humans This isn’t the first time though that the use of nanotechnology in eye-drops was investigated. Increasing research in this field has opened new doors in the field of medicine and surgery. There has been significant research done already to develop nanotechnology-based systems to treat ocular diseases. Researchers at UCL Institute of Opthalmology, London, demonstrated the possibility of creating formulations of tiny nanoparticles loaded with the AMD (age-related macular degeneration) drug Avastin. The resulting eye-drops can be safely and effectively used in patients compared to injecting drugs into the eyes, which is often uncomfortable. In another recent experiment, researchers from National Taiwan Ocean University developed carbon quantum dots covered with spermidine to treat bacterial eye infections. The researchers believe that the new quantum dots has a good potential to be used in eye-drops to kill antibiotic-resistant bacteria that cause keratitis. https://amp.interestingengineering.com/israeli-ophthalmologists-invents-revolutionary-eyedrops-that-could-replace-eyeglasses Cc: Seun, Lalasticlala |
