Inzaghi04: I applied for an emergency visa appointment on 2nd December and it was approved yet I was stuck on January 25th. So I sent an email and called the customer service at Lagos US embassy. They said the date was filled but I should keep checking maybe a date may arise. so each day I check in the morning, afternoon and midnite until I reach the daily maximum. 2 days ago in the afternoon 3 dates in December popped up. 11th 16th and 18th I think so I quickly choose 11th December. so my advice is if your emergency request was approved keep checking to reschedule. yes, u will see group size larger in current location but keep refreshing at different times of the day. You may be lucky to see December date.
Someone here said there is a hotel at the federal civil club at obalende. Please how much is it? Is it very close to the Us embassy? Hi when did you get the date? |

Chonco: You've been admitted right? What if you see another school that doesn't require any proficiency test? Yes I have been admitted. I will try it out too but I am applying for my interview already... Also I didn’t take Toefl due to the pandemic so the school suggested that |

sonofakin: A Nigerian that wants to do a whole one-year English pathway program doesn't really sound well. Better to find a school that doesn't come with such condition or write TOEFL. I couldn’t take Toefl due to the pandemic that’s why the school suggested that |

Chonco: Pls, ensure the waiver is indicated on your I20. It wasn’t waived. The school said I will do a 1 year English pathway program instead when I get there before I begin my main course |

Blessings001: Tell the VO that the school does not require you to take the English proficiency exam. Because English language is the medium of instruction in your home country(Nigeria)
That’s if nigeria is listed on the English proficiency exemption list on the school website o. Well the school accepted me but they said I will take a 1 year English program before I start my main major.. They called it the pathway program and the school in particular is Troy University, Alabama |

AOS97: Visa approved 30th of October. I've been a silent reader on here for a while. Thank you to everyone who has contributed! Here is my transcript.
VO: Good morning sir, pass me your passport. Me: Good morning VO: Alabama! Me: Yes VO: why did you choose Alabama Me: I chose Alabama because the research interests of my advisor matches well with mine and I also felt very welcomed by the department, so I'm very happy to be going there. VO: Chemical engineering? What kind of chemistry will you be doing? Me in my mind "I'm not doing chemistry o" Me: I'll be working on heterogeneous catalysis VO: Catalysis? So you'll be working with catalysts. Is that organic chemistry? Me: No, it's physical chemistry. VO: did you apply to other schools? Me: yes, I applied to 9 schools in all. Should name them? VO: *shrugs* I don't really care. What's the most prestigious one you applied to? Me: University of Michigan VO: and you're going to Bama? Me: well, Michigan didn't admit me. VO: which schools admitted you then? Me: Stevens, MTU and Alabama. VO: alright. Have you travelled out of Nigeria before? Me: yes VO: when? Me: told him... VO: which states in Nigeria have you lived? Me: Lagos and Ogun VO: so you went to covenant? Me: yes VO: are you married? Me: (in my head- babe sef I no get ) No, I'm not married VO: any kids? Me: NO sir VO: okay, I'll be approving your visa, take this slip to window 22 and pay your reciprocity. Have a great time at Alabama. Best of luck
My interview felt a little longer than other people that were in the hall same time as me. From what I've noticed from reading other transcripts is that the two VOs have some interest in chemistry. It seems they asked lots of chemistry related questions lol. It was a chilled interview, felt more like gisting even though my heart was racing like crazy. My advice is that you should be confident in your answers and as long as you have been invested in your admission process I don't think you should be thrown off by unexpected questions. Congrats to everyone that has been approved, and success to all others interviewing soon . Hello, congratulations on your visa approval.. Well I got a question on your visa did you see a no change of status(NOS) on it, I heard that trumph said Nigerians can’t change their status?... |

Hello Everyone, Congrats to those that got their visas approved and hope everyone is staying stay. I have a question: I heard the Immigration Bill (No change of status) Trump passed in 2019 restricts Nigerian Non-immigrant visa holders from changing their status to Immigrant status. For example: An f1 student or B1/B2 visa cannot fall in love and or get married to a US citizen and eventually apply for and obtain a green card or citizenship while studying in the US? How true is this? Can someone please clarify this. Thank you. |
