Chigo@god:Chigo@god my broda. take it up 1st. Gain as much experience/knowlege/skill as you can there. That's wat i plan to do. While you are there, keep searching for beta offers. Keep your eye on d prize at d end of d long road. Not everyone gets to start at d likes of Halliburton or Schlumberger. Abi to dey stay for ur papa house never tire you ni? |
Shevron Like seriously? @OP you be graduate so? chai you no try at all. |
Chigo@god:got it. tried responding to d 1st one but to no avail. i've replied you again dis morning. wil holla in d evening cos i'm a bit pre-occupied for dis morning. |
eimuhb: Thank God, I made it.Congrats. Chai so dey need people and dem no come even invite me for test. Oh well, I'm gutted but life goes on. All d best guys/gurls Abeg if dem dey do anoda recruitment make una try inform us o. |
olawunmi_samuel: Congrats! I have my first test/interview on saturday.Sorry for d late response. Good luck in yours. I think anywhere you can gain experience in your field is always a good place to start. As for the salary question, when you get to that bridge, you'll cross it. It doesn't seem professional for one to announce his/her exact pay package. Hope you understand. Wish U̶̲̥̅̊ success |
My guy I know how you feel. There are lots of us in similar conditions. Mere words are probably not you want to hear (and I wish I could do more) but be strong. Its hard but don't give up. At d start of dis week I felt I was at my wit's end but somehow at d end of it I got 3 interviews scheduled for dis week, d first of which has offered me a job and I'm hoping for good news from d other two. In summary don't give up! Also see ur HND as a thing of pride not shame. Ignore those silly employers. Let their discrimination be the fuel you need to burn in your desire for success in life. Get a B.Sc if you can or do certifications when you can afford it All d best PS- I would suggest dat you try ICSL, its not great but its better than nothing for now. |
Success text message don drop. Baba God Ese o! |
E be like say Una don turn me to news reporter for dis thread. Oya *clears throat* My pple I greet una but *in Olamide's voice* First of all... I want to take time to specially appreciate Omolara. Don't know if she's still here but I want to say a big thank you for informing me (and thousand others) abt d opportunity. May God bless you abundantly. Now to d matter. Don't know why d 8am pple no talk anything abt their interview. *laffs* anyway I was offered employment with the company 2day. Thank God sha. Dat's all I'll say. I'm guessing it was Onyekus001 I met 2day. Nice meeting you bro. |
austinemar: Yea ie if ur an electrical engr, u will face electrical question. They r quite cheap sha....hope av answered ur questnNna mehn. Those Electrical questions no cheap like dat o. It took me close to 10mins before I realised they were sort of logic questions. Anyways man dey hope for d best. Has anyone received success sms from dem like they said? (8 o'clock don really reach na) make pesin know where him stand. |
hello @chebyshev of course i remember your name na. shame i didnt get to meet you dat day. i'm presently there waiting. i'm putting on a sweater. Anybody here can holla at me. |
I studied Elect/Elect Eng. Are any of you 2pm guys Elect/Elect Engrs? I need to re-schedule my time from 8am to 2pm cos of anoda job test. Abeg answer. Success to all of us. God dey. |
@Austinemar hello. Pls what time did the test start? Did they keep to schedule and start early? What time did they finish as well? I'm asking cos I have just been invited for another interview the same day and I don't wanna miss either opportunity just yet. |
Hello. Just got a text message inviting me for a second interview @ the company's HQ in Ikoyi on 30-5-13 by 8am. Anyone else? (Did the first test and interview on 4/5/13). |
peterugoobi: @tomoarika post your email and we'll talk, if this month elapse no need talkingDone. Kindly respond |
peterugoobi: Have a feel of the company first this is their website http://petegroundservices.com/Default.aspxWhat are the work hours pls? |
Kassidy4luv: How do i apply for dis job opening? plz i need a job.Oga try check the beginning of the thread before you ask this kind funny question na. |
I also got the invite; venue: Yabatech on the 30th of May. @Engrcrown lol @ blablabla. Don't think I've been invited for a psychometric test before but hey how hard can it be? I've assisted someone with it though. Like someone said it is usually to gauge your suitability for the role (personality-wise) not necessarily your level of intelligence. But it's best to practise similar tests. They can be found online. SHL tests are quite psychometric in nature unlike GMAT. Best of luck. |
I've finished my youth service. I'm very interested. Pls send the details to my e-mail address so that I can apply appropriately. Thanx. |
Congratulations! Thank Baba God for this. The fact that it was through the help of a fellow nairalander makes it an example to the rest of us. We should learn from this and emulate it. God bless Lejovic for helping you and you too for appreciating his assistance. I'm also believing God for my own too. |
Thanks for the response @Peterugoobi. I haven't taken the certification exam for the CCNA just the course. I had to postpone it due to NYSC Camp and then youth service in a bank took all of my time and energy. However I am studying for it now. I would very much be interested in the "blue collar job". I have a vision for myself and I firmly believe that it's not where you are that matters but where you are headed. Pls how can I get in touch with you? I am fairly new to Nairaland so don't understand the pm thing. I look forward to hear from you. Thanks and Regards |
Hello all. They say desperate times call for desperate measures. I am a recent graduate of who completed NYSC last year. . I have also done courses in Computer Networking (CCNA) and ITIL service management. However despite all these, I'm presently unemployed. I have sent unsolicited and solicited applications to several places and hardly ever get feedback except from banks but I don't see myself as a banker in the long term. Even Tuesday Guardian and Nairaland job section don turn to my companions sef. Engineering firms recruiting trainee Engineers usually demand for candidates with at least 2years experience (what a paradox!) What I seek, is an opportunity to develop myself as an Engineer and gain industry experience. Huge financial renumeration is not paramount to me. Pls is there anyone out there (preferably a small engineering firm) who can be of any help? Advice, suggestions, etc. I would be most grateful. Thanks Regards |
For the love of Heaven (and Peace I might add) will you Igbo and Yoruba people stop fighting! The world doesn't revolve round you two, you know. Either its Ojukwu vs Awolowo or something else, today it's Soyinka vs Achebe. Why At the very least can't you argue like the educated people you claim to be?This is a very interesting interview, as I feel Prof Soyinka was very careful with his words so dat they wouldn't be misconstrued. A shame that this is what has happened here. Pls I appeal to all of you to show maturity and not to allow tribal sentiment to becloud your judgement. |
chebyshev: I don't know why HALLB have refused to send me an invite for the test. It pained me die!Yeah bro. Seems like say we dey d same situation. Not test invite yet. I for like gatecrash but for the other test/interview on Saturday. I'm still praying and hoping to be called for test sha. Good luck to everyone successful in the Halliburton test, you already have one leg in. Prepare well and pray. The Good LORD dat has done it for you up to dis point will also do it for those of us still waiting. |
nanya124: @tomoarika pls can i send u an email?I don't mind, however I cannot drop my E-mail address on a public forum like dis. Pls don't be offended. Regards. |
bb4522: @tomoarika @chedyshev I think ur right abt d salary coz wen I was called d lady emphasized so much abt d salary, but let's be sincere do u think they can pay 80-100k from ur interview point of view?Tbh, I'm not so sure they would want to pay that amount.( Obviously they shd be able to pay it but dats a different matter). I had to lower my expectations after observing things |
chebyshev: The test was cool. We were about 14 in number altogether.@Tomoarika,u must be a female cos it was one female Civil Engineer who came in last that was first interviewed .The test questions were simple but the interview was rather too long. Spent almost 30 to 40 mins with the Korean guys. One of them later told me the HR will contact me.@omolara thanks once againno I'm male, I wore black suit with a black tie. Either I had gone for d interview by d time you came out or d lady had gone for d interview by d time I finished. Either way, all is good. I finished early, shook d hands of d candidates still waiting, wished dem all luck and left. I feel its d salary issue dat will determine those chosen. |
Not everyone @ d were nairalanders. Met a fellow who said he didn't apply like d rest of us. Anyway I was d 1st to be called for the interview after the test. was ok sha... Had a rather looooong chat with the interviewer. I have left already. Hope for d best. good luck to the rest of y'all. |
chebyshev: @chigo@god,may 4th 2013.Any fellow nairalander @ d venue here? |
mytym: I had posted it on Google plus (Maths community) when the PH dudes had theirs and i got some nice contributions from math enthusiast worldwide which u can check.Hello @mytym I'm not on google plus, how else can one get in touch with you? Can I send an E-mail to you? Would like to practise more. |
Mine was "Nigeria is a better as a colonial state, do you agree or disagree? Why?" Friends got questions like "As the coach of the Super Eagles, wat can you do to improve the chances of winning the world cup" "Is the amalgamation of Nigeria worth celebrating" "Wat can the govt do to reduce crime in Nigeria" "Does the financial situation of a family influence the academics of a child" or something similar sha (can't remember exactly) Like people have said confidence is important |
@ the venue. Didn't get d 2nd text mssg for the time. But I don gatecrash. Fingers crossed that I'll be allowed (I got d mssg to come for verification tho). From info I gathered so far, the questions are quite random; cbn cashless policy, ways of improving productivity in a small firm, meaning and difference btw matriach and patriach (lucky fellow if you ask me) and others. Its not the typical interview questions, more like ur ability to reason and present good ideas on the spot and your ability to present yourself well. |
You guys dat got the text message early are lucky sef. I just got d mssg and the text wasn't complete as my fone cannot receive txt messages over 160 characters in one message. So I am stuck not knowing my time/ day and to worsen matters there's no light so d fone has gone off and there's no Airtel service on my other fone where I put the SIM card. *sighs* Pls advice anyone? |
Like seriously? @OP you be graduate so? chai you no try at all.
