Advice pls.
Is it advisable to state my Master's degree when applying for my study visa for a 2yr graduate certificate? I'm trying to avoid being overqualified? If I don't state it when applying, is there a possibility that I can tender it in future?
It is WES verified and intend to use it when I get there. And it's relevant both to my experience and the grad certificate I'm applying for.
Thanks |

Racoon: Though the coup was very unfortunate, but the pervading politico-military events preceding it were pointers that there were a lots of unaddressed grievances.
...
However, the introduction of ethno-religious supremacist agenda cum bastardization of the then military by the Balewa-led NPC govt, quota system into the military and civil service, suppression of vociferous cry of the Western(Having clashed Awolowo-Akintola in the Wild Wild West era)/Middle Belt regions against marginalization by the northern controlled-army among many were among the catalysts.
Same thing they are still doing today-using the divide and rule approach that you lots are still supporting. Imagine it were a Yoruba/Igbo populated govt that is commiting all the atrocities under this satanic gov.
Let a Yoruba/Igbo led revolt happen now then you will understand why the early Nigerian Army officer acted they way they did then.......... A keen student of history, I see. |

It depends on which coins you are holding. However don't panic. Travel › Re: GIGM: Commuters Lament Over Poor Service, Unprofessional Staff by Tomoarika(m): 9:02am On Jan 20, 2020 |
Cantonese: I think the family lost the original vision. The original vision defined modern day method of long haulage transportation as we observe these days.
Gone are the days when 100 was the speed limit. Gone are the days when captains were not permitted to drive off the proper roads. Gone are the days of captains who would never be rude to passengers. Gone are the days of ground staff who treated passengers politely. Utako terminal started getting dangerous for passengers way back in 2015 until some unscrupulous staff including the manager were sacked in one day. Gone are the days of very good looking buses that attracted passengers. Gone are the days of good looking terminals. Asaba terminal looks big outside but the inside is very dirty and full of cobwebs.
I think the problem has to do with poor growth plans. The management seems to have deluded themselves with the kind of passenger traffic experienced when the business was reorganised.
The workers are well paid and they have no reason for rudeness. Agbero mentality has crept into the heads of the ground staff. The field officers, as they are called, demand money from passengers before loading luggages.
The economy under the present regime has not helped with the cost of a Hiace bus approaching 25 million or over. How long will it take for them to make their turn over? It was much easier for them before now as they could purchase 200 buses in one order. These days GIGM does not purchase more than 20 buses in one order. Another challenge they have is their very porous accounting system. Some of their accountants have run away with very huge sums running into hundreds of millions.
It is not a hidden secret that the chairman ventured into the oil industry. The business has enterred into wrong hands. Advices and solution offered by the very senior drivers are not carried out. Irresponsible drivers have taken over. Very well trained drivers have moved to other companies where the packages are better.
On the part of the guests as passengers are called, there has to be some understanding. Some passengers frustrate other passengers and the captains. Some are very rude and unbearable. Some make very foolish demands. Some ask the captains to increase their speed and burst into arguments with other passengers because of that Some expect the captains to stop at any point that they need irrespective of the danger. Women drop sanitary pads and pampers inside the buses. Some stick chewing gums on the seats, etc. There need to be understanding too from the passengers.
GIGM needs to re strategise. There has to be an attitude change in the face of stiff competition provided by GUO, AKTC and others.
In all I'd rather travel GIGM than any other companies. I am certain that I journeys can end in terminals close to my location and I do not need to spend much on additional transport fare. I still remain a fan with a very strong hope and desire for change from the company. All you have stated are facts. I used to be a regular customer of theirs. Travelling to and fro every fortnight Lagos- East for about 6 years now. I'm very familiar with some of their staff as a result and they tell me stuff like you've mentioned. (Took a break from them a few months ago due to lapses on their part, now trying out the competition GUO) Overall GIGM is still the best transport company but they need to restrategise. Business Expansion is good but care must be taken not to lose the essense of the business in the first place. (just like Mr Biggs) |

Politics › Re: Why Benin Republic, Others Get Stable Electricity Than Nigeria-TCN by Tomoarika(m): 2:25pm On May 16, 2019 |
obailala: TCN has the least blame here, they can claim to currently have a transmission capacity of over 7000mw. Whenever DISCOs reject load, the TCN is forced to shutdown to prevent an overload. Consequently, the GENCOs are forced to shutdown some turbines too. Also, the GENCOs on another hand suffer from incessant gas shortages which force them too to also shutdown sometimes. Amongst the 3, the TCN takes the least blame as they are just middlemen. Slight correction, when Discos reject load, TCN dont shut down, rather they tell the Gencos to shut down if this doesnt happen automatically (as it's supposed to) in order to maintain the stability of the Grid system. |

Nigeria's power industry is just funny.
Pre-paid meters are needed by customers, Discos claim not to have money to install them. They complain tariffs are too low to enable investment in the meters. Customers will not consent to increased tariffs. NERC is just looking.
What gives?

Dedetwo: This is big time lie that can only hold water in Nigeria. Ejoor, along with Katsina, supported Gowon. How Midwestern region remained neutral when Excravos was the training Depot and launching pad of coastal attack against eastern region by 3MCDO. If you have forgotten to read your calendar properly, I suggest you pay it another visit. By July 26, 1968, Ubani (Bonny) in eastern region had been captured by elements of 3MCDO who were trained in Midwestern region and launched the attack from the same region. Please tell how was the region neutral when every attack on the coastal plains of the eastern region started from Midwestern region. Read una no go read. I clearly stated prior to d Midwest adventure and you are claiming it's a big lie by quoting 1968 for me. Do you even know when the (mis)adventure into the Midwest happened? Do you know when 3rd Marine Commando Division was formed? Your arrogance is astounding. |
Politics › Re: Olayinka Omigbodun, Victor Banjo’s Daughter: Ojukwu Betrayed My Dad, Killed Him by Tomoarika(m): 5:58pm On Oct 09, 2017 |
To me Col Banjo remains the most misunderstood character of that period.
He wasn't a participant of the Jan 66 coup although he could have supported the reasons behind it as he was considered by the young majors (from Wale Ademoyega's account) yet he was punished for it. Was he ever tried and found guilty as part of the Jan 66 group? No
Now when he was released by his friend Ojukwu, did he really have a choice as to whether to fight for Biafra or not?
What were his real reasons for halting at Ore?
Remember the Midwest region had been declared a neutral territory prior to the Midwest invasion whereby the then Mil Gov Ejoor refused the FG from keeping troops in the Midwest. With the Federal troops bearing down on the capital Enugu, the attempt to take Lagos could have brought relief to Biafra but this failed leading the FG to declare a full out war against the rebels (as they were called)
Wale Ademoyega claimed in his book that the four; Banjo, Ifeajuna, Alale and Agbam were executed on the charge "Intention to Overthrow" rather than an actual attempt at it which shouldn't have been enough for the sentence.
Banjo could be a scapegoat, a traitor, a victim of circumstances depending on who you ask. Truth is, we may never know which. It's a pity dead men tell no tales.
That period was just a crazy one. May we not experience another like it. |

nedu2000: Why not flyovers? Like the costain-stadium-ojuelegba axis. Installing traffic lights along the lekki/epe expressway is like doing so along the asaba/onitsha or benin/ore road. That road is too big for that. Traffic should always move I've been saying this. The effect of traffic lights and lay-bys will be negligible. The volume of traffic is simply too much for this. Another cheap (and not so effective) alternative would have been to move the locations for vehicles to make u-turns from the present roundabouts to less busy sections along the route. |

Lol. To me Politicians dey learn work compared to the Civil Service.
The reason why that of the Civil Servants isnt too obvious is because they have mastered the System. Unlike Politicians who "stupidly" steal billions at a go because of their limited time frame in office, the corrupt Civil Servant knows that his job is at stake if caught so he "chops" just enough Govt money dat wont be noticed and continues to do so over a period of time.
Things like Imprests, travelling allowances and contracts for provision of stationery and other such materials are some of the common ways of siphoning Govt funds. |

Kollyman: I want to believe that the message by the OP is not written in French or Arabic.
The issue is no longer about power generation , we are talking about discos rejecting light that are supposed to be distributed to the customers.
I think their plan is that; they would accept small power ( to reduce their payment to the Gencos) and rationalise it among their numerous customers and at the end of the month, they would share bill as usual demanding for payment of full month power supply.
The sabotage is everywhere in this country and instead of Nigerians to wake-up to fight our common enemies, they would be shouting, Buhari, APC, PDP .......... . |
