Buy a car no matter how small or cheap, so that you can at least take your destiny in your own hands. Upon being chased by NURTW officials, 14 passengers allegedly begged the driver to stop but he refused. Could the passengers have jumped out of a James Bond's vehicle? How do we eliminate drivers like these from our roads considering that they make up over 80 percent of motorists? How do we stop them from committing mass murder? |

This country sef! |
What about the kwaruption Index? Let's not worry by the time APC (All Promises Cancelled) finishes with Nigerians, the popular 97% will be fantastically sorry. |
truthalways:My bruv, the dude is asking for a job and not begging for cash. I don't see how this suggests that he's trying to scam anyone. If you can't help him in any way including offering some positive advice, why spoil the minds of those who might? Those who wanna help would always VERIFY before doing so. |
We have a long way to go in Nigeria. In this 21st century we still have cattle being paraded in our highways and using pedestrian bridges. Well, Bubu is their father. |
londonrivals:Sometimes it's a waste of effort speaking up for the common man in the streets. Why pity someone who has no pity for himself? You are jobless, a polithiefcian wakes you up in the morning with N1000 to go and protest against another polithiefcian and you oblige. No questions asked. The poverty that will greet these bunch of people is presently boarding an Arik Air flight. |
keyhole2015:Whenever you enter a vehicle with a reckless driver driving on a good or bad road, be that voice of caution! Don't shut your mouth like other Nigerian passengers, most of whom just pray and "cover themselves with the blood if Jesus", while the driver drives in whatever manner his insanity dictates. Shout at the driver if you have to! A lot of Nigerians have died because they believed that accidents are justified on a bad road. |
Sabenko:I put it to you that bad road is not the main cause of auto crashes in Nigeria. THE MAJOR CAUSE OF ACCIDENTS IN NIGERIA IS THE MENTALITY OF NIGERIANS. Every Nigerian wants to prove to the other that he's smarter and that's what we see on the roads! FCT Abuja has lots of clean, wide, pothole-less roads but go and see the number of crashes that happen each week on those good roads. Go and see for yourself how drivers at top speed change lanes without warning on those roads. Go and see how many times lone cars crash into ditches due to overspeeding and recklessness! In Nigeria, there is a very terrible attitude to driving, road law enforcement and everything that has to do with safety. Our religiousity complicates issues too. A pastor is "flying" at 150 km/hr but all his passengers are relaxed because "Jesus" is driving and death is at bay! And in most cases, the tires are tokumbo or expired or both! Yes some roads are bad but is that an excuse for a driver to kill himself and others? If you cook a pot of beans full of stones, shouldn't you apply some caution when masticating in order not to loose your teeth? Doesn't it amour to utter stupidity or imbecility to blame an accident completely on a bad road when you are not a stranger to the fact that most roads in Nigeria are bad and so you have to apply caution and never drive too fast? I think Nigerians are used to the words RIP. That's all! |
banmee:That 4-way scenario is even one of the applied questions one would likely encounter in most advanced countries' Driving Knowlege Test. However in Nigeria even T-junctions are utter chaos and a point where Nigerians prove to one another how "smart" (I'd say stupid) they are. Every intersection on Nigerian road is like a psychiatric hospital where insanity is being tested and-in most cases- confirmed. We do all manner of evil behind the wheels, including total disregard for pedestrians' safety and when we crash and die like chickens we remember God as if we ever knew Him in truth and in spirit. |
banmee:I know how difficult it was for me to get a drivers license in Canada, after writing the initial computer-based test of 30 questions out of which you must score 25 to pass. And it wasn't free. It wasn't easy either because I had to study the big driving handbook to get all the basic knowledge. Then comes the other rigorous processes, including the road test which you MUST pass before getting a license. In Canada, people drive as if they are flying an airplane- with such carefulness and caution because any infraction would cost you! Check their auto crash stats. But what do we have in Nigeria? Chaos on the roads! Insane, arrogant, inexperienced road users who mostly believe that their poorly maintained tokumbo vehicles are covered by the blood of Jesus. People die like animals everyday because we know too much to humble ourselves and LEARN HOW TO DRIVE! On Sunday morning you see "Christians" beating red traffic lights because they are hurrying to "see Jesus" and because they are smarter than "dumb" patient motorists waiting for the green lights. When people die we hear the usual cold-hearted RIP coming from unrepentant people who are ever ready to continue in their recklessness behind the wheels the next morning! Is there any redemption for Nigeria's mentality? |
Haba! With all the religiousity in Nigeria we can still burn a living human being to death on mere suspicion of crime? Meanwhile the same society adorns selfish looters who are guilty of even worse economic atrocities against the people? Omg! God forgive us all! |
herbie27:The only problem I sometimes notice with couples who didn't "know themselves" before marriage is that they suddenly realize that they are sexually incompatible. If a man who's hot in bed realizes that his partner is irredeemably frigid or cold (unresponsive) in bed, that's the beginning of a new problem. It creeps up. So I think if a couple decides not to engage in premarital sex, they should keep communication open on the subject of their sexualities. Tell him you are a potential tigress in bed! Tell him how you'd love to give him BJ. Tell her how you view sex, and that it's not just a 5 minutes act for you. Tell her that kissing means a lot to you (I once dated a girl who hated to kiss, and damn! it was horrible for me because kissing was/is my life)! If you don't communicate who you expect to be in his/her bed once wedded, expect SURPRISES (either pleasant or bitter). |
herbie27:Lol. Hope you are enjoying your weekend? |
iamDiabolic:The guy wey dey ask if woman na virgin, him sef na virgin? Abi na because say guys no get hymen? |
herbie27:Are fishes ever enough for a fisherman? Until he's caught by a "fish"... |
Stanleywaxy:Seriously? Lol try Facebook. Works faster. |
EnigmaticEnigma:But how dangerous is it for a guy to come seeking for love -or whatever sexual utility- on a faceless forum filled with vague, uncertain identities, when this ain't Facebook or Instagram? |

SAINTSAMURAII:You are safe. |
Recently a NLer was complaining that many female monikers were actually males and that such fake females were actually out to deceive, scam and perhaps hypnotize their unsuspecting male "admirers", or stalkers. This got me thinking. 1) Guys shouldn't be so concerned about who's male or female on a faceless forum like this. 2) Let's concentrate on the topics being discussed, rather than sniffing around people's profiles; except if you are looking for your partner's photo. 3) If you really are the type who seeks sexual relationships on NL, I think Facebook or Instagram should be a better platform for you. 4) Assume that every profile is a unique online identity, absolutely different from the offline personality. Anything short of this, blame yourself when you eventually get your fingers burnt. 5) Those who show many personal details on their profiles deserve some respect and and not being called out. |

Nigeria is always an amphitheater for religious, tribal and ethnocentric sentiments. We continue to exist in perpetual suspicion of everything and everyone around us because we are living a big lie. A lie so big that even the West who almagamated us can decipher. We are not a country yet. Until we become one, topics like this would continue to feature in our national mien. A radical restructure is long overdue. |
iLegend:Interesting thread I must say. You still a student? Postgrad? |
Leadership is supposed to be left to intelligent persons but a large proportion of Nigerians decided to elect a stark illiterate as their president. A man who was drafted into the Army without a WAEC certificate. Why do we then come online to grumble on daily basis? You brought home an ant-infested firewood; why complain about lizards? Buhari is brain-dead, we all know it. How do we expect a man who doesn't know that West Germany is defunct, to transform Nigeria? Pipe-dream! |
