Politics › 25 Years Later Nigerians Wouldn't Bother Knowing Who's In Aso Rock If... by tomquest(op): 10:41am On Aug 14, 2016

Yes, in less than 3 decades from now, Nigerians wouldn't need to keep calling the name of the man (Dullard or whoever) in Aso Rock if we restructure Nigeria now, and devolve power to the 6 recognized geopolitical zones, so as to

1) unlock the economic potentials of each of the 6 regions and bring rapid development to their states;

2) eliminate the do-or-die national politics we see today, where it's an endless struggle between religions,tribes and ethnicities;

3) eliminate laziness in states and governors who generate nada from January to December, parasitically surviving on free crude oil allocation from Abuja;

4) dismantle the bunch of greedy and budget-padding leaches we have in Abuja, whose only interest in the oneness of Nigeria is the billions they can corner for themselves;

5) enable peace and security to reign since every region would have it's own security (policing) outfit and not the current dullard-poo situation where a man from Jalingo is drafted to Bayelsa to "secure" what and where he knows nothing about. A certificate-less dullard who can't even swim.

6) instigate the rapid diversification of Nigeria's economy away from Crude oil, building of needed infrastructures across states and the establishment of strong institutions that are closely knitted with the people. Not the ones we see today only on NTA.

So why do some of us still prefer this Egypt when we have Canaan waiting for us?

I can't imagine such a demon being anyone's security. People, please stop bringing in strangers into your homes either as help, gardener or security.
Will igbos ever listen or learn? I doubt!

I'm yet to see a tribe as gullible and ignorant as the Igbos of Nigeria. They claim that they are wary of Hausas yet they employ them everywhere in the east as Mai-guards!

Imagine!

You employ potential killers to man your gate while you and your families sleep inside!

What sort of stupidity is this?

It's not a nigerian problem. Doctors all around the world, from USA to China, do it. And, yes, it causes thousands of death every year. Do a little research and see for urself.

They willingly write those things. Most of their prescription are written in Jargons just to avoid self medication. And self medication is totally against the law
This is the silliest argument I've ever read for doctors' bad handwriting. So if a doc clearly writes Panadol and I buy panadol from a drug store or take from the one in my fridge, then I'm self-medicating and should go to jail?

But when he illegibly writes Parara instead of Panadol and the pharmacist sees it as Poradel, and then I die later from taking Poradel, it means that the doctor is very intelligent and should be given service medals?

Only God knows how many people have died from wrong interpretation of Nigerian doctors' oversabi handwriting. In saner climes, doctors even type and print out your fvcking prescription. Na we sabi pass them? Smh.

Crime › Re: How I Became A Cultist: Years Lost But Never Found by tomquest: 12:40pm On Aug 13, 2016
Don't look back at those lost years but look forward to the blessings that the years ahead have to offer you.

When God turns your captivity around, your case would be like that of Job who lost it all but, because he didn't curse God, was blessed in double folds.

Sin is evil, whether cultism or fornication. That's why God will bless you for returning to His fold.

Politics › Re: Nairaland Says No To Secessionists by tomquest:
Being a public forum, it's wrong for anyone to define what Nigerians should discuss, for as long as they do it respectfully and legitimately. Freedom of speech is an important aspect of our constitution and it mustn't be suppressed by anybody.

Although I'm not pro Biafrexit, but I occasionally love to read the intelligent arguments for it. Many new nations have emerged over the last several decades, from genuine movements. If Biafrexit is genuine, then it's just a matter of time before it's emergence.

On the contrary, I've read shocking religious articles coming from Seun. I've read how disappointed and bitter some followers of Seun's threads were and I've seen someone accuse him of deleting his comments challenging his (Seun's) ideological position.

And then I ask, why would a man outlaw other people's ideologies but comes around to promote his (atheism)? Is this not hypocrisy of the highest order?

You have 100 kids and 2 or 3 of them keep crying and saying they are not "feeling your love" and your solution is to use cellotape to shut their mouths? And then you tell your visitors and friends that you are one big happy family?

I thought this forum was a great oppurtunity to hear the cries of these minorities and "feel" their reasons and arguments and maybe it would help us all to improve on our love for one another. But no! Seun is telling every crying baby to stfu and sing "I love Nigeria!".

But sooner than later that kid you put tape over his mouth (and refused to hear his grievances) might end up putting the lid over your coffins. History is our witness.

Seun, please go ahead and "outlaw" other ideologies, not just Biafrexit. And please stop creating threads that challenge others' faiths, beliefs, ideologies and sense of pride because EVERY NIGERIAN HAS A RIGHT TO SELF DIGNITY.

Politics › Re: How Buhari Used An Interpreter To Communicate With Wole Soyinka (pix) by tomquest: 4:48pm On Aug 12, 2016
Although I don't trust the caption of this news but I think Wole Soyinka should learn to communicate better. Everything is not poetry.

As a young poet, I read Soyinka's poetry and I must confess, the guy's style is complicated. Every line takes a toll on you.

Soyinka employs too many complicated vocabularies to communicate a simple message, which eventually leaves his listeners/readers bewildered and confused.

Communication ain't complete if the receiver cannot decode 99% of your message.

Taraba state is a very peaceful state
I can assure u
My guy, having experienced "things" in the north, I think I might be in a better position to tell you the meaning of "northern peace".

Remember how Plateau, Nassarawa, Borno and so many parts of the north used to be "peaceful"? If the earth can tell you the number of innocent lives that the North has swallowed, you wouldn't step foot there again.

What is the essence of "peace" within a region where LIFE HAS NO VALUE TO A MUSLIM YOUTH?

What a waste indeed.

What we should be asking is why is there no tomato processing plant at Zing, and in many other northern locations?

Answer: "FEAR NORTH"...

The Awusas would watch you sink millions in their community and then few years later they'd burn everything over a cartoon in faraway Denmark. That's if they don't murder you alongside.

Very murderous part of Nigeria. If you are a southerner, invest at your own risk.

Good day nlnders, I need everybody's view on which to invest in first, because my little capital cannot accommodate both areas.
Start with poultry farming with the resources you have at hand. Grow the business and then branch out into feedmill (from a small scale initially).

The thing is, your poultry farm should be the first customer for your new feedmill, thus guaranteeing continuity and market.
