Education / Re: Poly Student Threatens To Sue First Bank For N250m by tonn(m): 10:15pm On Oct 29, 2010
Well i think i am just getting different versions of the story. I was very infuriated with the bank on hearing the frivolous accusation of the bank. on a second thought i considered that First Bank is not known for such bad publicity and this propelled me to asked questions.

At this junture, i would like to note my findings. If the bank had accused him of wanting to make additional withdrawals the following day(saturday) before he realised that the amount had been reversed and have decided to go public with the infomation, then i would advice Mr. Durojaiye to thread carefully because such allegations dont go without clear facts. the question would be, "if he had noticed that the system payed him more than he had in his account and he was sure that the excess of N18,000 belonged to the bank, why did he want to make additional withdrawals when he already knew that the system had given him a balance that was clearly not his.
How would he defend such, "that he wanted to reconfirm that the money was stil there?

Secondly there is a high possibility of a system malfunction here. If the amount of N9.3 billion was not reflecting in his account statement, then there is a possibility that the system malfunctioned and gave Mr. Durojaiyes ATM card access to one of the banks suspense account. I suppose the error was rectified and that threw Durojaiyes account into Debit.

I would suggest that this matter be resolved amicably. I would advise Mr. Durojaiye to seek advise on what could have led to this error. Gather his facts first so that his good intentions are not portrayed in bad light.

"In the court room, it is not about what you thought was right, its about what evidences you've got, how well you can prove your case."
Business / Biz Start Up! by tonn(m): 10:17pm On Oct 23, 2010
Hi Nairalanders!
I am an employee of a reputable firm in Nigeria. I really want to start up a good and lucrative business. In my five years of gainful employment i have been able to save up to Three million naira (N3M.)
Now i am so confused with the kind of business to start. The banks fixed deposit is nothing to write home about. I really wish to turn this money over and retire in good time to face my own business.
Kindly advise on the kind of business one can start up with this amount of money and sleep comfortably with both eyes closed.

Your candid response will be highly appreciated.

Their questions are basically general knowledge, maths and english. wishing u the best.

Business / Re: Why Is The Entertainment Industry So Different? by tonn(m): 1:41pm On Jul 10, 2006
Seun, its been well said. Music for instance appeals to the soul. Right now am listening to one of the biggest reggae artists ever, and for years now his songs ve not faded into oblivion because its still relevant even in the present day, and i bet he still collects royalties on his past works. People will dole out money just to satisfy the need of the soul, and these needs are what these "artistes" satisfy.

Works of art span their relevance all through eternity, and that is why they are loved and paid handsomely, because what they do goes beyond just satisfying the immediate need. it makes great impact across every race and tribe, and I can tell you that most are often not limited by time. This is why big artistes are often called for campaigne purposes. Recently in South Africa, there was a campaigne against HIV/AIDS, and very big artistes were called to perform. It was a huge success because people came out in mass. If the inventor of Indomie or cocacola had been there, people wouldnt have come out the way they did.

So its just a matter of appealing the soul.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Access Bank Is Recruiting Again by tonn(m): 1:55pm On Jul 09, 2006
Hey guys, I'd advice that you make sure you infomation is very correct before you pass them on to people. Pls for crying out loud, I am a state university graduate but applied @ access bank when I heard they were recruiting. I was told like most people are saying now that they dont take state university graduates, but they called me up for a test, and still called me for the second stage test recently.
Pls dont deter others from applying, and i would advice that you do your reseach properly before passing any info, howbeit, thanks for the info. So to everyone in the house, pls just go and apply.
Wishing you all the best.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Fake Job Test Interview? by tonn(m): 2:16pm On Jul 06, 2006
pls my brothers, i dont mean to sound cynical, but i dont see any truth in this. No reasonable company will extort money from its prospective employees. It doesnt sound logical.
Every company knows that a lot of money goes into recruitment process. So they should bear the cost themselves. Pls just be careful. I ve always believed that any company that asks me to pay money before writing their test isnt real.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: First Bank, Executive Trainee by tonn(m): 2:04pm On Jun 24, 2006
@njokma,
I'm sorry I dont know the reference ID for the post you applied for. I'm sure that was for the experienced positions First Bank advertised a few weeks after the Executive trainee interview.
I believe that if you can lay your hands on the Guardian Newspapper it was advertised in you will get the reference number. But if you cant, instead of wasting time, you can just go straight to ther office and make enquiries.
Wishing you all the best.

I have also gotten an sms from First Bank, informing me that I have been shortlisted for the third batch.

@Rosez, thanks so much for everything. wink wink

Tnx so much Abdulkadir for the info, i really appreciate it.
Jossy girl, do not fret, if you were sent a txt message inviting you for the medical test or you got an email invitation to the medicals, then you need not worry, cos your name would most likely be in the third batch, as I heard.
I went to make enquiries today as to why I was yet to be contacted and I was made to understand that if truely I was invited for the medicals then my name would most likely be included in the third batch but that they do not know when the third batch would be released. I also learnt that the total no of trainees isn't up to 600.
So lets keep our fingers crossed, cos there is definitely a third batch.

It's really a pity that u found yourself in such a situation, considering the time and money you have invested in this relationship. But i would have u know that lesbanism or homosexuality in general is not a problem you talk people out of. Itis a problem that even the victims find very difficult to stop. So count the cost. Do you want to go on with the marriage and expect more heartbreaks? Its up to you, the ball is in your court. Remember, whatever decision u arrive at, either from what people say or something u make up on your own,you alone will bear the consequencies.
If u really want to help her, tell her to go for help. I think she will need it.

Rosez:

Tonn
FirstBank doesn't pay as much as other new generations bank but they have come long way from what they used to offer. Meanwhile, there are so many incentives u won't get anywhere else with less stress too. It depends on what you want really. And i can tell u that u are less likely to be laid off or sacked just like that without having a good hearing. You get alot of training too. Meanwhile, I confirmed that the first batch of trainees should be in training schoolfor just 2 weeks. So the 2ndbatch will be going in sooner.

Tnx a lot Rosez, u are a darling. I appreciate ur responses. All the best.

I don't know on which side of the divide i stand, disciplined or cold hearted. I have this young, beautiful and attractive lady, a graduate, homely and with good moral upbringing, just the kind of girl i would like to have, but i don't seem to share her feelings. We are very good friends and i mean best of friends but i don't want to take it any further than that.
Once she collected my resume to help me in search of a job, and she has never asked me for a dime, instead she's been very supportive and believes so much in me. She is a christian but not yet bornagain, and I'm born-again, but worst still is that i love her, but not enough to start up a romance with her. Am i cruel or disciplined?
Please what would you do if you were in my shoes?Reply urgently
