To be honest, this is why i think that political leadership do make people stuiipid, how can people be waiting for government to build toilets and bathroom for them. This is same thing in Northjj, Same thing in WEST not look at Bayelsa such an oil producing state leaving in poverty

there is always blessing in disguise.

IGBO FOUGHT WAR, THEY ARE HATED AND NO GOVERNMENT TO SUPPORT, SO THEY REALISED THEY NEED TO DO THINGS BY THEMSELVES AND THAT IS WHY U CANT SEE STUFFS LIKE THIS IN EAST

Nollywood actress and self-proclaimed trend setter stepped out yesterday showing her famous back side in a clingy black dress.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, she revealed that she hates when fans compare her to foreign celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Beyonce.

She said

You see, some fans are ridiculous. If you wear a dress or something that any of these foreign celebs wear, you begin to hear comments from fans that refer to ours (what we Nigerian celebs wear) as ‘fake’, some even go as far as calling us copycat. We should not be called Copycats because it’s not as if the foreign celebs invented all the designs, they must have gotten them from somewhere too.
It appalls me how we get disrespected instead of encouragement from fans, so whenever they come to my page to vent, I direct them where to channel that to.

I won’t allow any one stress me or give me negative feedback on an innocent motive. I like Beyonce and Kim but I don’t copy them, people should please respect my hustle too.

There is a certain type of bag in Nigeria known as “Ghana-Must-Go” bag. It was the type of bag used by 700,000 citizens of Ghana to leave Nigeria in 1983.Today it is South Africans asking foreigners to leave their country and return to their impoverished lands. In 1983, it was Nigeria ordering citizens of Ghana and others to leave their country and return to their impoverished lands. History has a way of repeating itself.

It happened that in the 1970s, Ghana was facing a lot of economic hardship, just about the same time Nigeria had an oil boom. People were doing well in Nigeria. The economy was flourishing and the news spread across Africa, reaching English speaking people in Ghana first.
Citizens of Ghana moved to Nigeria in their thousands for a better life. Just like in South Africa now, things became a bit difficult in Nigeria, and Nigerians began to blame the foreigners for the difficult life. With low oil prices, they accused people from Ghana of taking all their jobs.

They urged the government to send them packing with immediate effect. In 1983, the Federal Government of Nigeria enacted an expulsion order under the leadership of President Shehu Shagari whose government was said to be corrupt and would be overthrown that same year by General Muhammadu Buhari who is the current President-elect of Nigeria.

Instead of addressing corruption in Nigeria, Shagari decided to send foreigners packing. About 700,000 citizens of Ghana were returned to their country. During the exodus, they used a peculiar type of bag to move their belongings. It was called by Nigerians ‘Ghana must go’ bag.
As they were leaving Nigerians were rejoicing, laughing and praising their corrupt government. But as a writer noted, the situation only got worse and Nigeria never recovered even after Buhari took over and was overthrown also by General Babangida.

Two decades earlier, life was better in Ghana and the country ordered foreigners, especially Nigerians to leave their country, only to end up in Nigeria and be asked to go also. History has a way of repeating itself. These days, Nigerians are trooping to Ghana to study and do business. I do not know if they will be asked to leave some day. I hope Ghana has learnt from history.

Why cant we just say the truth once, the Ghana peeps you chased away from Agege,Pen Cinema etc, have you forgotten so easily, it is the same set of people that will tell igbo that they should go (In the same country) and imagine if igbo are from another country, it is the same set of people that their Oba will threaten hails and brimstone should Igbo vote their choice, it is the same set of people crying doublestandard will shout we (G)hosted you. Now how can the same set of people be shouting against South Africa

PoliticsJust One Phone Call And History Was Made In Nigeria!!! by tonychristopher(op): 11:08am On Apr 20, 2015
The call was as historic as it was redefining of our national political life where an incumbent with all the paraphernalia of state powers could concede victory. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan displayed an uncommon statesmanship in a continent rife with sit-tight, life presidents; and a continent where it is an anathema for incumbents to lose elections.

That phone call will be re-echoed all through times and has set a benchmark on how our political evolution in building a nation-state will be adjudged. Tomorrow, history will remember that it took a phone call for an incumbent Nigerian president to concede victory; put national interest above self-serving interest; congratulate his opponent even when he was yet to be officially declared victorious; and restore serenity to a nation entrapped in a circle of fires that inglorious cynics had condemned to oblivion.

PoliticsWhat Will ICT Look Like Under Buhari And The APC? by tonychristopher(op): 10:48am On Apr 20, 2015
What will ICT look like under Buhari and the APC?

The People Democratic Party (PDP) has stirred Nigeria’s economy including the ICT sector for 16 years. This year – May 29, it will drop the baton and take the back seat as an opposition party having lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

True the APC is inheriting Africa’s largest economy. But it is an economy resting on its back. The African Economic Outlook for 2012 declared: “despite Nigeria’s robust economic growth, it has ‘failed’ to generate ‘decent’ employment while poverty has remained high and persistent.” The 2014 outlook was no different. Nigeria had become the continent’s economic powerhouse yet highly deficient in infrastructure, power high skill supply. The report cautioned that the nation’s economy remained vulnerable to global economic shocks that weigh on the fiscal position and macroeconomic stability, threatening growth prospects. Being a mono-export economy, Nigeria’s high dependency on crude oil export weakens its capacity to absorb shocks from strictures in the global economy.

Setaje:
This is exactly what my dad said. Exactly why my dad kicked against yorubas siding wiv hausas. This hausas are too smart. Wiv Buharis win, they have taken us back hundred years. I just hope yoruba leaders can at least do something for the south west and it's people. If not this hausas don't mind holding power for life. This has always been their tactics. I trust yoruba people who are always vocal. It won't be long before they start insulting Buhari especially when he is not performing as expected and before u no it they will turn to opposition. This time the hausas will just go and meet south east or south south and those ones will gladly follow. Who doesn't want national cake. This has always been hausa tactics. Divide and rule!

The moment yoruba igbo and south south stand together wiv one voice, is the beginning of progress in Nigeria. The hausas no that. This is why I dislike jonathan. He would have formed a formidable united southern Nigeria. But he relegated one part to the ground. Now we are back to square 1. With the way hausas voted. It simply means nobody can attain anything in this country wivout the help of hausas and they will continue to be the owners of Nigeria. It's a shame. People who are 20 years backwards from the south and people who so believe it's their birthright to rule Nigeria. I just laugh when people say if Buhari doesn't perform u will vote him out. Lmao. Let me see how u will vote a man out that comes from the largest ethnic group in Nigeria. In case u don't no. The hausas speak wiv one voice. Anything that concerns the north will bring a northerner apc and pdp together. Something we cannot see a southerner do. We are in big trouble o. I do not trust the north one bit and I have no apologies.
GOD BLESS YOU

I am in support of that section, it will be to ensure that we write in our dialects not in igbo and it will be also for posterity reasons because we will have our footprints in the online community and this is imperative. it will also give us a sense of oneness which has been on. we should have this from our igboid brothers like ikwerremilitants, hopeathand and other south southern igbos, this thread should be a history in making and it will be a galvinising and unifying factor,I WILL WANT IT TO BE WRITTEN IN IGBO and it would showcase the good and bad part of Igbo land

when a man takes a stand he should stand by it in all condition and that makes him a man. what sort of forgiveness is he beging for, he was an opposition and that should be it. to me it is cowardice and nothing more#

Whizzcute:
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said his asking for forgiveness should not be taken for cowardice by his opponents, saying his tenure in office will be determined by God.

He said he took the step to seek a genuine reconciliation with the All Progressives Congress, whose 19 lawmakers in the state House of Assembly were plotting his impeachment.

The governor spoke on Sunday at the thanksgiving service organised for him at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Anglican Communion, Ado Ekiti, to celebrate his electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

Fayose said, “I asked for forgiveness for reconciliation and to pursue genuine peace. Waiving the olive branch does not mean cowardice, it is for peace.

“Conspiracy is against God’s will. What better way could one seek peace other than asking for forgiveness.”

The governor advised the APC to emulate President Goodluck Jonathan who conceded defeat and saved Nigeria from disintegrating.

“When I contested for Senate they said I lost and I did not fight anyone. I did not go to the tribunal and I was saying good things about the government then. The opposition should be courageous enough to accept defeat. I follow Jonathan in and out of office. Jonathan gave up for survival of Nigeria. Jonathan prevented the prophecy that Nigeria would break up in 2015.

“I’m enjoying the mandate of God through his people and that cannot be controverted. My sin is because I allowed the common man to breathe the air of hope.

“The people have spoken (governorship election), they said it was military intervention. They spoke the second term (presidential election), is that one photochromic? And they spoke again the third time (House of Assembly election).

“If God that gave me victory cannot defend me, I better go home. If the people cannot defend the mandate they gave to me, I better go home. Power doesn’t come from man. Power belongs to God. Anyone against the voice of God is following Satan’s way.

“In a democracy, you need a simple majority to win elections, but I enjoy total majority. They want to take government by force, firing shots at people; that is coup against the people. They said they are coming again tomorrow, we are waiting for them.”

But the APC lawmakers advised Fayose to stop inciting the people, saying his Sunday broadcast had demonstrated that he was not committed to genuine reconciliation.

The APC lawmakers in a statement on Sunday accused the governor of inciting the people against them in the broadcast.

A statement by the Special Adviser on Media to Speaker Adewale Omirin, Wole Olujobi, said the governor in his broadcast demonstrated that he was never committed to the peace he preached barely 24 hours before his inciting broadcast.

“How do you reconcile this inciting broadcast with a plea he made for peace not quite 24 hours earlier, which Ekiti people and indeed Nigerians thought was a good move by the governor to thaw the frozen relationship between him and the lawmakers?

“This is a confirmation of what Dr. Omirin said in his Sunday Punch interview that the governor can’t be trusted in any peace move.

“It is shocking that the governor, who refused to make any remark or commitment during the church service after the man of God appealed to him to embrace peace, could go on air few minutes after the church service to start inciting workers, traders, okada riders and artisans to defend him with their last drop of blood.

“As if his inciting live broadcast was not enough, Ekiti people were shocked when a public service announcement started running intermittently on the state media urging okada riders to look out for strange faces across the state and attack them because they are thugs that are being imported into the state by the APC lawmakers.

“They are also to converge on the House of Assembly as early as 6am on Monday to prevent the lawmakers from performing their legal duties,” the statement added.

Stressing that they were not planning any invasion
of the state with thugs, the lawmakers called the
attention of Nigerians to the unlawful acts of the
governor in his desperate move to ensure that the
lawmakers were rendered ineffective in the
discharge of their lawful duties.
