I hate to sound this way, but is very very common in Yoruba land. An average Yoruba prefer to respect an agbero than a professor. I have a lot of them as friends both the bad ones and the good ones.

Brown I'm in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State .... that's what I've experienced too. Just be a trouble maker in the community and you'll be highly feared and respected. It's same thing everywhere

Personally I love to be quoted or criticized for my comments constructively, I love to reply too, I love to test different people's level of intelligence and that's why I comment on important topics or topics that will likely hit FP. Some people use those symbols to "book space" so they'll have enough time to write reasonably before posting. People read mostly the first or probably the second pages of a post
