So impressed. Naija got hope. |
Kinda surprised with the comments i have been reading here. A lady who stood up for what she believes, even at the threat of decampment, deserves my respect any day. Our constitution guarantees her the right to religion,to practice it and to be protected. However wrong or right the tenets of her religious beliefs are, thats always perceptional in nature, depending on which side of the divide you belong. The fact is,her religious right was infringed. People have refused to salute the flag, sing the national anthem on religious grounds and the constitution guarantees its their right and our courts have also upheld this. Enough of the castigation, she stood up for what she believed. How many of you that are condemning her can stand up for your right in the face of overwhelming pressure? How many? |
Intriguing.......... Madam Gbogborigbo.......i bow for dat name oooo. Nice effort. |
Dear Mazi, Thanks. Had a great time reading your stories.........brought back reminiscences of NYSC camp life. Once again, thanks. |
ifyebere: @oahray, u funny dude u know...lolz, Oga u're a JW jare stop covering up, as for me my home cannot b devided nd sing it like a hymn song evryday to her hearing, as a matter of fact she's comming to ma home on xmas day, I must tell u in my church if u funicate, adutery, anyfin against d bible, u'l get suspended nd not defellowshipped, d woman in d bible dat was coaught in adultery, nd d pple were ready to cast stones on her, what did our lord JESUS say to dem, "if any of u is without a sin should 1st cast his or her stone 1st on her" JESUS told her go nd Sin ŊO̶̷̩̥̊͡ more. Can't u see for a grown JW nd non JW agree to come 2gda as 1, my church or parent will never treat u as an outcast, but d JWs wil defellowship u, nd family treating u like an outcast, is dis what christ tot us in d bible. Did christ ever or its written dat he ever treated any1 like dat?. Christ had already know 2 of his deciples will deceive him (u knw d story) but did he treat dem as an outcast or stopped dem from being his disciple? Come on JWs. Una don add una own to dis 1 Oo, nd it just too bad. The only people dat will make heaven abeg make I hear word jare...@ifyebere, Still wondering how you got to such damming conclusions about the Jehovah's witnesses. Imagine the kind of words you used to describe them''deceitful occultic member(s)........that's appalling bro!. Religion is a matter of choice and every individual is allowed to suscribe to certain norms, beliefs and value system. Thus this explains why you insisted 'you can never leave your religious group for hers',yet, you would expect her to do so simply because you profess to ''love her'' now. Well, its obvious you already have a mindset about them, albeit a very biased one at that. Have you really wondered why she is balking away from marrying a non witness? Did you assume she is brainwashed? At her age? Being a witness was a decision she took voluntarily and she knows the norms and principles guiding code of conduct among members. Psychologically, that relationship of yours with her is doomed.....It was doomed even before it commenced because you would never have been able to make her happy. Do you think she would ever be comfortable going with you to your church? Participating in religious ceremonies and festivities that her trained conscience would never accept? Would you understand her joy when she participates at her religious meetings? Abstains from things you may term normal? Would that joy still be there when she would refuse to accept blood transfusions even at the point of death? Something that would seem ludicrous to you and others. Bro,please do yourself a big favour and move on,else you will come back here to tell stories that touch the heart. Such obvious imcompabilities are early warning signals that a relationship is headed for the rocks. In all things, try to look at issues from an open mind. Peace bro. Just my two cents. |
osifred: ¶ have thought this over and over again.Bro, wondering how u assumed that a long distance truck driving job requires only menial skills instead of mental skills? Just wondering....... |
vxtr: ur two pence is worth $2m, but hw come ur user name is top dog, it shud ve been top guru, anyway a dog is also intelligent. One love.@ VXTR,ur welcome bro,a broda gotta have a name, symbolic or literal. Kinda pissed off at the stupid arrogance and ego some of our half baked graduates flaunt on NL. For crying out loud, who would want to entrust a Truck worth over a Hundred Thousand Dollars to d average Naija graduates who has been brainwashed and spoon fed out dated theories in dia dilapidated Mushroom"Universities".At 30,most of them can't even drive, they don't know a dime about road usage, traffic rules and etiquettes, yet all they dream about is white collar jobs and hitting the big bucks over night. These guys have forgotten that Dangote is a private businessman running his business empire, with profit maximization as his objective. If he wishes to employ Phd holders as drivers, who cares? Its all about choice, either u accept or u take a long walk. I have consistently advocated that the curriculum of tertiary education in Naija needs to be drastically overhauled. These graduates need to be taught to think outside the box,to develop work skills that are in tune with modern realities of the work place. Enough of these archaic theories and mumbo jumbo that they are being fed with. No wonder we have a lot of educated "illiterates" littering our streets in search of the Utopian white collar dream job. Finally, eyin guys, forget ur pride and ego, don't be perturbed by what people around u might say or think,go get that job, earn ur income, save some money and marry our sisters who are getting tired of waiting for ya to get a job and be responsible. Once again, just my two pence. |
Ignorance is bliss. Kinda amazing reading different opinions on the appropriateness of a graduate earning a living thru driving. For crying out loud, wat is the value of the paper qualifications Nigerian graduates carry about town? How many countries recognise dis worthless Kpali dey brag so much about? Truth be said, most of u are unemployable, lack work skills and etiquettes. Even Dangote has to train the supposedly "Graduate drivers" in question. Yet some are still deceived by the scraps they call degrees gotten from dilapidated schools that are nothing short of being glorified secondary schools. Most of the graduates that are against this scheme would gladly prefer to do dehumanizing menial jobs abroad, yet their ego would not allow them be a truck driver in Naija. What is the essence of ur degree if it can't feed u,cloth u, and allow u solve ur basic needs? Most would prefer to be liabilities and parasites on their parents rather than do a job that can take care of ur needs. Keep deluding yourself and be living in a fools paradise, expecting that dream white collar job to pop out of the sky.For those pragmatic graduates who see possibilities where others dread, pick up dis golden opportunity and use it as a take off point. Save up and in a couple of years,u'll be employing the dreamers waiting for the fabled white collar job. Go and ask Mike Adenuga wat he was doing when he graduated from school in d US? Cab driving yet that was not the end of his world,it only spurred him on to achieve more. If u like, continue staying in ur father's house, eating free Ijebu Garri and be dreaming of a white collar job, while ur mates are busy out doing something and taking responsibility for their lives. Just my two pence. |
Logic Mind: saboteur.Aro Psychiatric Hospita @Illogical Mind, obviously you really need a psychiatric evaluation and i would recommend Aro Psychiatric Hospital. In your books,i would be a good man by engaging in the killing of fellow innocent Nigerians, irrespective of the fact most of the victims didn't know Nada about Boko Haram. You can continue to vent your hate filled drivels, spew your stupid ideologies and hide behind your keyboard to brag, yet,in my books your nothing but an imbecilic internet warrior,a troll. While your at your favorite pastime, don't forget to book your appointment at Aro Psychiatric Hospital,it would do you a world of good. FYI....Im Igbo and a Xtian. |
Been reading through the posts on this board and i cant help wondering.......How did we get to this point? Where we delight in the cold blooded killings of fellow innocent Nigerians on the basis of tribe, religion and language? Saw poor, innocent people being killed in cold blood today in Angwa Romi,Sabon Tasha,Post office Junction, and i asked, are we truly sane? How did we loose our sanity? Had to hide my a young man of Hausa origin in my house today, when the the youths of Sabo Tasha were caught up in the killing spree. I looked at him intently as he was busy weeping profusely inside my sitting room and all i saw was a fellow human,an unfortunate fellow, that was only seeking his daily meal. Was even more appalled watching my fellow Xtian neighbors celebrating the killings. For crying out loud, these unfortunate victims were all innocent Nigerians struggling to eke out their daily living in a land purportedly flowing with milk and honey. Violence does not achieve anything, rather it will only bring about a cycle of retributive violence. |
@ 4evergod3, ur ignorance and condescending attitude is appalling. It sucks big time. Its obvious u still got a lot to learn about life, about courtesy, about respect for other people's opinion on a public fora. For crying out loud, every one is entitled to their own opinion irrespective of how objective or subjective yours might seem. Its all perceptional at the end of the day. Your derogatory statement about someone's parent tell's a lot about you, your upbringing, and your intellectual capabilities. Dude, you need to broaden your horizon and enlarge your world view. Now to focus on the issue @ stake, some pertinent questions need to be addressed. Who owns the University of Lagos? Who is the Visitor to the university? Who funds the university? Invariably if the FG owns the university, then they have the right to change not just the name of any federal university but also determine who heads the institution....its governing council, its chancellor. Yet again,I ask, does the change of name of a university affect the brilliance of a brilliant student? Does it affect the dumbness of a dumb student? Yeah I 've heard people talk about brand name,in dis case the Unilag brand. Obviously we are forgetting certain core constituent of a brand,in this case, value derived or attached to the brand. Let the employers of labour determine the value of the Unilag brand....its student. Its not all about having swag or the name being razz. Let the market determine the value and quality of graduates churned out by the school. While ur at it,remember Unilag didn't make the list of top 1000 universities in the world. Food for thought. I rest my case. 4evergod3: @Deedee49 |
pDude:Omo the MOG just dey hammer dey go.......more tithes, more bizness and profits for him family na. ![]() Everly if mugu no fall, guyman no go chop.Somebodey chout 'alleluia, alleluia',the Lord is good all the time and the MOG must dey chop from the pulpit. ![]() Ndi Muo..... ![]() |

Imagine flaunting the proceeds of our stolen wealth in our face........driving a Hummer while millions of kids die of Malaria and bad governance brought about by people like her husband in power. Abegi next person........... |
occam: Ladies saying poor guys are more loving than those with extra cash are LIARS. Guys don’t believe this. Maybe they’re managing you until they find a correct guy. Don't buy this Nollywood story, romeo and Juliet nonsense. |
Biko kwa, When shall it not become? Let all i am carried vibrate bembestically in Swahili languaje so that ewulwu's shall be thrown into confusionary conference via anya nma lele. |
Abeg make una free the people joo. Abi dem no go hustle? Una big men dey Abuja dey steal money and una dey yearn kalambo. Let the Govt of fresh air create jobs, provide electricity, good roads and quality infrastructure for the common man,abi na only english him sabi speak. Guys dey dey hustle to survive, taskforce dey show themself.E no easy to hustle skunk for igboro o.If na lie make u try am. |
@Jujufada, well said bro. Only u forgot to add that the rivalry,"notice me and show Ur self",exhibited by the candidates is appalling. Like Dunddy said,"let the man that needs the job have it". |
Hmmmmmn BAT Assessment has come and gone. Guys dey shine eyes, carry hope for hand. What an irony. Kudos to the guys and babes that did their assessment in Lagos today, men i doff my hat.Una tight.I really enjoyed meeting u guys. |
When leaders lack vision, foresight and fundamental knowledge of the requisites of leadership, they invariably loose focus and sense of direction. While the people Amaechi governs, wallow in acute poverty and misery,he seeks to buy a new Plane. While developmental projects abound to be executed,he seeks pleasure. Ofcourse his "hired praise singer's",would see no evil nor hear any over this action by their Inept Governor. After all.it is their time to "chop and clean mouth". Wonder what most of our Governors have in their head? Stones instead of brain? Or are the clowns that sourround them as stupid as they make them out to be? Wondering what his next comical relief would be? Cos his Fellow Governor from Imo state has already stolen the award for the week by appointing a special assistant on Lagos for Imolites, Make una continue the looting cos the money no dey finish. |
@kizini, Gbam.Your point was detailed, precise and fantastic. Im so impressed. |
@lanrewajew , How far? Enjoyed your write up.Nice point.Oshe gan. |
@1stCitizen, its obvious your deep seated bias and hostility against the witnesses has beclouded your thinking, which ordinarily ought to be rational.Well i understand, behind such deep seated prejudice lies low self esteem and insecurity.Permit me pls,to expantiate your world view, Basic Assumptions: Religion is a choice and humans as free moral agents have the right to "decide, infer, opine and practice the religous doctrines and beliefs which they voluntarily suscribe to". People have different value systems which determine their behaviours and attitude. Based on these assumptions,we can then logically deduce that: The witnesses as religious entities have certain rules and regulations which regulates all aspects of their organization and the dynamics of interaction within such organization.Invariably these belief system serves as a code of ethics which members suscribe to. The OP alluded to his "ambition and dreams of fulfilling his aim of being a pastor in his religious organization",which "would not permit him to contemplate leaving his church,"despite purportedly "loving the witness lady.Therein lies the dilemma, Does the witness lady also have the right to hold on to her religious beliefs teneciously? Or is she inferior to the man and as such, has no right to hold her religious inclinations, especially "when it exhorts her to marry only in the Lord"? Even if the OP goes ahead to marry her,he is definitely in for a suprise cos they wont bond. Her happiness, emotional stability and religious propensities will be affected and this will, defintely exact a heavy toil on the marriage. As to your derisive comparison of the witnesses to 'Boko Haram',in regards to having an open mind and being tolerant,i say kudos.Yeah kudos cos it only displays your crass ignorance of the societal rules of comparative criticism. You dont criticise what you know nothing about. You dont sit in the comfort of your house and spew thrash, rather you investigate and gather facts,so that you can see the larger picture. Once again,i rest my case. |
People im absolutely amazed at the misconceptions, hearsay, and fallacious stories being bandied around about the witnesses. For crying out loud, the OP solicited an advise on what to do and not the various diatribes and drivels some of you have been ranting all over. Most of the arm chair critic's that have suddenly become "professional psychologists and psycho analysts" should give the witnesses a break, Its all about making a choice, either to practice what their religion preaches or to back out.Nobody is forcing nor has forced any one to become a member.Guys pls respect the beliefs and doctrines of witnesses. @Op if ur religion is dat important to you and non negotiable, why do u think her's wont be to her? Marrying a witness wont bring you solace cos there's a disconnect between the spiritual orientations you both profess. If you really love her and have her interest at heart ,u should consider the implications of what it might result for her emotionally, psychologically and otherwise, Ur gonna be cutting her off from her family and her belief & value system. For those of you who arrogantly term the witnesses as "sects",kindly consult your encyclopaedia and see what your mainstream religious cum business organizations were termed decades ago. Those witnesses y'all lampoon have won countless legal cases the world over and have established the legal precedent to live their lives according to the dictates of their doctrines. Its called tolerance and openmind but i'll rather call it "common sense" when speaking on issues ur not well informed on. I rest my case. |
@Seanetto,Guess u've got a morbid hatred for Igbo's.Aint u tired of spitting ur hate filled drivel against them.Guy i bet it must be boring even to u to keep repeating meaningless rant always. And while u are at it cos i guess its ur occupation, its ''Igbo's and not Ibo's". O ka re. |
Mine was on Tuesday.Any how i wish u success bro. |
Was wondering if u were the guy i was chatting with on the interview day. U were wearing a black suit. |
Tunde were u interviewed in Abuja? when? Are u in kaduna? |
Tunde relax, urs is definitely coming. |
I'm amazed at U guys.Somebody was killed in the line of duty and some of you are blabbing and giving it an ethnic coloration.Could happen to any of u,Ur relatives, cousins, whatever. Aint some of u got a shred of human conscience. For crying out loud,he was somebody's parent,a father who had blood flowing in his veins. Internet warriors, Arm chair critics, "busy doing nothing while Rome burns". |
There is absolutely nothing wrong in joining the Nigerian Police force, especially as an officer from the rank of an ASP.The salary is commensurate with what you get in other ranks in the force.Belive, me there are a lot of decent, polished and educated people in the NPF. Corruption is a reflection of the malaise of our society as a whole. It affects all aspects of our culture. |
Interesting posts, I believe the most important thing is to see the interviewer as a human being and not fret unnecessarily.Be composed, relaxed and answer the questions put to you in a relaxed manner.Never appear disorganized nor allow the interviewer detect your not confident in yourself. Got a job immediately i came out from service.Still remember what happened at the interview vividly, was being interviewed by 5 people and was asked a question on marketing segmentation and retail channel development.Noticed one of the interviewer"s kept trying to throw me off balance,he had issues with my presentation,he disagreed with my market penetration strategies and insisted they were not realistic.I politely but firmly stuck to my points cos i knew what i was saying and had facts to buttress my points.A 45 minutes interview ended up lasting 2 and half hours. They ran me through the whole gamut of trade marketing, retail channel development, branding, product development, brand deployment but men i was well prepared and gave them more than they bargained for.At the end of the interview,i knew i had a job on my hand cos the head of marketing told the die hard interviewer that i was correct on all the points i raised. He even asked me who was my favorite marketing guru and i told him Philip Kotler and the man exclaimed.Next day i was called for medicals and got the job. My point? Know your field exceptionally well.Upgrade your knowledge and be confident in yourself. After all,the worst that can happen is you may not get the job but your self esteem wont be bruised by die hard interviewers who may want to rubbish you. |
