Literature/Writing AdsIntroducing Nigeria's First Literary Cafe. by Topsido(op): 3:20pm On Oct 03, 2012
In Nigeria, there are many places for the lovers of music, wine and other forms of entertainment to unwind or socialize but there is hardly a place for the lovers of books to share information or pick a book to read under a relaxing and socially stimulating environment. The Literary Café or LitCaf Nigeria can be described as the social club where books are the liquors, where the music is not deafening, where the lights are not so dimmed, where the dancing steps are the gesticulations of individuals who have come to socialize under an intellectual milieu. It is the

place where the pickup line of a gentleman to a lady is not just ‘can I buy you a drink’ but also is ‘have you read the book by John Maxwell?’ The Literary Cafe is different from private library in being sensitive to the things that will make book reading an enjoyable experience to the people. Unlike libraries, there will be in the literary cafe soft music, chatting, eating, and even the chance to meet with invited personalities on occasions.
Other services beyond the physical cafe, which we also provide includes the planning, research, writing and representation of work. We promote worthy books with indelible values. Please find below how you may like to engage us in the things that we do.

Sam_Ikenna: If one man's ambition is capable of breaking a country then that country shouldn't be one in the first place. lets say Nigeria is about 160 million, which means 160 million different kinds, shapes, colors, and sizes of ambition. If GEJ's ambition can break up 160 million different kinds, then maybe we shouldn't have crammed 160 million heads together.

In his book, 'ETHOS: What Africa may learn from Trinity' Temitope Apoola has done an exceptional amount research, bringing together a rich and varied tapestry of insights from theology, science and philosophy. This work will be of interest to scholars from variety of disciplines who wish to be challenged to think deeply and critically about the relationship between religious notions of God and scientific notions of creation; and the implications of these for ethical thought and moral action in society.

LiteratureETHOS; What Africa May Learn From Trinity by Topsido(op): 5:19am On Apr 13, 2012
http://www.amazon.com/Ethos-What-Africa-learn-Trinity/dp/9789190093/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1334202113&sr=1-1

When I first began to read this very well researched and presented book, I felt like the subject was somewhat meaningless to me. That is not because of lack of interest of Trinity and the believe in the oneness of God, on my part, but because, as a philosopher who is fully involved in most religious criticism epsecially against the doctrines of the church, the trinitarian Doctrine means nothing to me except for what its influence in the ecclessiastical systems of the church accomplished. The development of the trinitarian doctrines in the Christian churches that follows the ecclestestial system. For me, the dogma is meaningless and it is only the fact that it was only a concept developed in the “theodicy” of the church to enhance some philosophies behind the trinitarian doctrine of the ecclestestial church and the concept of the oneness of God.

I see the Catholic dogma as nothing more than an ancient idea canonized by the members of the councils in the Middle Ages. I have not seen any first century Christian, let's say St. Paul, mentioning the word “ Trinity”, but as a scholar of religious studies who have studied the traditions of the church I really ended up enjoying “ETHOS; What Africa may learn from Trinity”. The author clearly showed that classical philosophy can be applied in the study of Trinity using reasoning tool “R”, the small “r” and Prudential Acquiessence. Yes I quite agree that epistemological principles must be applied to grasp the full meaning of Trinity from a classical point of view, even though the originators of the dual nature of materials and metaphisical things agree with that.

Furthermore, Philos, Heraclitus, Aristotle and Plato were once on the quest for the existence of a diety from traditional perspectives of the Greeks but Tope Apoola showed how classical reasoning can help an average African Christian to understand the mystery behind the trinitarian monotheism as well as to see true reason in the concept of dualism by studying the Logos. I think Tope did a great job of showing the difference between tradition and the classical ideas of the trinitarian doctrines. This book is very well written, excellently thought through and wonderfully illustrated as well. As I read, I thought several times that this writer had done a lot of research and defended his premise very well indeed. I highly recommend that you read ETHOS by Tope Apoola because it shows with classical and intellectual honesty that Trinity is not a dogma one must reason from a traditional perspective. I felt that this book showed that Africans must be freed from enslavement of tradition to enhance their civilization through the knowledge of the classical concept of Trinity. I, Author Nwaocha, the Great Mind, strongly recommend this well researched work to every African.

CareerRe: How Much is a Good Salary in Nigeria? by Topsido(m): 4:19pm On Mar 25, 2012
tanimola22: Oga you are loaded O. 26Milla is not easy O.

Some arithmetic:
2k Dollars=260,000 say 1 dollar=130

Food:
2 pots of soup every week=4000*4
Bag of rice, beans, garri, salt, pepper=max 30,000

Clothes:
Some of us don't really shop every month.
You=25,000, wife=20,000, kids=20,000

Fuel:
20,000 for generator
30,000 for your motor

Gas:
Not too expensive. Say 11, 000

DSTV Cable:
40,000 should get you a number of quality channels. But you first need to buy the decoder and all. These are additional one off costs.

Recharge Card:
Monthly: you-2000x4, your madam-1500x4, your kids-500x2x4 (they must learn how to manage. This is not America)

Say N219,000=1684,6 dollars. Please go over the arithmetic and correct any errors in computation.

It should not be too far away from the above if you and your family can avoid extravaganza. Other things like soap, air fresher and the likes won't cost more than 50K. Patapata add 500$ to 2000$ and you should be almost fine.

Speak to asset managers like ARM and co. I won't say you should just put your cash in the stock market.

3M and 1M can get them into very nice schools. British International Secondary School and co don't cost more than 2.5milla per year. There are many others that cost less than 1 milla per year and they are very good.
