Mcy56: See, no one will tell you when they buy until they finished buying........well, except me and very few here. The oga replied you already. That you should calculate dividend yield, then go for your choice stock. The next kwesion I expect from you is how to calculate it, that's if you don't know it. Don't direct the kwesion to me oo. I want to believe it involves using what the dividend declared last year to multiply the shares amount I want to buy to see if am okay with the amount. Like using N2.50k for zenith. Isn't it Modified.... Literature review shows that dividend yield is dividend divided by share price on pay day! |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Topson88: 6:12pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
RabbiDoracle: Do your dividend yield (DY) calculations using the previous dividend as a guide. If you are satisfied with the DY, then you can go for the stock you want.
For me, na siddon dey look till I see the trigger. Thanks I appreciate. I will buy half now and half if it falls and if it doesn't fall and instead keep increasing in price, I will keep my half money till August to November bear period to buy more. Like someone said it's better to lose opportunity than to lose money. ! |

Mcy56: Waiting for my boss' response. But in the meantime, this Mcy doesn't know anything much ooo.......but I think you have to find out what works best for you. Which investment strategy suits you. Then maybe you choose to close or open eyes to "noise". Look at convenient entry price and enter for either price appreciation or div. Also, set your stop loss. So that, if the stock is not moving according to expectation, you exit and wait for bottom prices. That's my layman's opinion. thanks alot. I appreciate. |

@oga rabbi, @mcy56 for some of us holding cash hoping to buy high dividend stock like zenith below 18 and gtb below 28, is it advisable to buy half now and complete buying when price drops or your advice is still to keep holding cash?
NB.. I fully understand that whatever advice and opinion I get ,I am still responsible for my choices.... gain or loss. Thanks |

Mcy56: To me 8.50 still looks okay......but it depends on how well you understand what's up with the stock. This is purely my opinion. Not heavy bids, no heavy sellers as at now but bids more than offers overall. This doesn't determine anything by the way.
*Updated: there are crossings at 8.80....... the ball is in your court thanks Mercy. |

Mcy56: Should have asked this when it was around N21. One of the reasons for giving daily updates is to allow investors take informed decision as well. Anyway, it depends on your investment objective and how strong and financially bouyant you are. No need to panic. Since you still have gain, maybe you sell and buy back if it goes lower or leave it to buy more when it bottoms out. It now depends on you. Sold! Thanks alot. |

Mcy56: Maybe you should wait for pull back. It was trading at 140 not so long a time ago. Not saying it will get back there or not, but watch out for the pullback.
One thing I know is that no one can accurately predict this market, especially during this season. Back and forth is expected because people invest for various reasons. Even Oga Rabbi's prediction didnt happen around the time he said it would happen. Merci beaucoup. |

Mcy56: Choose 'limit' so you can enter your desired price to sell. Market value will sell for you at the available market price at that point in time. Same thing applies to buying too. Thank you ma |

BAMOFIN1: You will be better of buying zenith, afriprud or ucap which have higher dividend yields than gtb, have not appreciated much relative to gtb and do not depreciate much after dividend. Gbt has left the station taytay. Buy soon before rejected TB money fully penetrates the market. Thanks alot |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Topson88: 6:06pm On Nov 25, 2019 |
PETERiCHY: Yes GTB is a good stock unlike mago mago Zenithbk but I will advise you exercise a little patience.
Make your purchases in batches from middle of december till Dec 24th.
Thank me later. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate |

I made a mistake in the phone number I filled on stanbic mmf form
Now I have been sent an email containing my e account number and being advised to pay in some amount
My question is though I have sent an email for them to correct the phone number mistake but they are yet to reply my email.
1. will I need my phone number to withdraw whenever I want after 30days?
2. Should I wait for the phone number mistake to be corrected before doing a transfer into the account I just want to avoid stories that touch the heart. |

Am new to mmf I reside outside Nigeria so might not have the opportunity to visit the bank for any issue.
On this note, which do u advise between first bank mmf or stanbic mmf?
Is it foolish to think that since first bank had stood the test of time compared to stanbic ,it is relatively safer?
Please pardon my ignorance. |
