Salam Aleikum Warahmotullah, muslim brothers and sisters. I am Ismail Abdussalam. |
Often times, I see most of our brothers and sisters arguing with the christians on different issues...and I wonder if it is even necessary. Have seen it happen here on Nairaland several times and have also witnessed it happened offline too!!! I see that some people would say the matters being discussed warrant such arguments sometime and some just don't see anything wrong with it. After reflecting and thinking over this MATTER, I decided that I needed to create a post to address the issue. Though I am not a scholar or very learnt in Islamic jurispudent, I have learnt one or two things about Islam. Now to the issue at hand, I have not seen where it has been endorsed by the prophet in his sunnah or anywhere in the Qur'an that muslims should engage in arguments with christians. Now don't get me wrong here, I know during the life of the prophet, there ensured some forms of disagreement between the kaafirs of Mecca where they confronted the prophet with their poetic and well concocted lies. The prophet did not engage into any form of arguments deliberately. Now you will see people arguing here and there unnecessarily. There is not point in trying to pull down a full grown tree with mere hands! It's never possible!!! I implore my muslim brothers and sisters not do engage in any futile arguments with the christians. It will create nothing good but only one thing...HATRED! If I have missed anything, I stand to be corrected. Please don't insult or derail this thread if you don't have anything reasonable to say. Plenty room for constructive criticism though... |

"A muslim's issue is always a happy one. When Allah (SWA) bless him/her, he/she is happy (grateful). And when Allah (SWA) afflicts him/her, he/she is patient" ~Al-Bukhary and Muslim~ "Don't harm your brother with your tongue" ~Al-Bukhary~ |

noetic2: This is a dishonest attempt not to clarify the GREY areas of the haddith whenever u raise them.My understanding is that the hadiths of the prophet (SAW) is very self-explanatory. However there are surely GREY areas as you have mentioned. The reason why I said GREY area is because we all understand things in different ways. That is why you get conflict and disagreement sometimes among the sahabah. I would have given an example, but I don't have much time. Now the issue is this: no one can just come here and just explain the hadith according to their own understanding. This will lead to lots of confusion that could lead many astray. Before someone can explain hadith of the prophet, there are certain stages the person must have gone through. For example, a scholar is qualified to do that but not just any muslim. I hope you understand this. Misinterpretation of the ahadiths of the prophet may lead people astray. Moreover, the prophet said "Anyone who lied against me will be prepared a seat in hell fire" (May Allah protect us from that). So what should be done. The best is to take any hadith you found here and take it to a local scholar, WHO IS TRUTHFUL AND TRUSTWORHTY. Get an explanation from him. Just my 2 cent sha... |
The straight answer to that question is a resounding YES! There are so many sayings of the prophet that promises the sahabah and this ummah (muslim community) that they will see Allah (subhanahu Wata'ala). In one of his ahadiths (sayings), he (SAW) said that on the day of judgement, muslims we see Allah just as you can see a FULL MOON on a dark night. Come to think of it, if you are opportune to see the MOON when it is full, you know how clear, bright and illuminating it is. Nothing will block the view and it will be as clear as day light. That is exactly the way muslims will see Allah on that day. I PRAY THAT ME AND YOU BE AMONG THOSE!!! In another hadith (saying) of the prophet, he narrated the ordeal of the muslims in jannah. He said that Allah (SWA) will appear before the muslims (in jannah) in his glorious and majesty. Allah would now ask them (the muslims in paradice) that what else do they want so as to complete their happiness (which they had been promised in this world). They (the muslims) will now say that, hmm! What else do they want, there is nothing else they want than jannah which they have been granted. Allah will now tell them that he has granted them Ridwan'Allah (that is:- he is completely happy and pleased with them). The last hadith is where the prophet said that there is a veil that will shield Allah from his creations. But on the day of resurrection, after judgement has been done and the people of paradise have been sorted, the veil will be eventually be unveiled and the people of paradise will MARVEL at the appearance of Allah. |
