Do you know how much you get paid for an hour work minimum without a degree in Sweden? $13, how about with a degree? $13. How about a technical education of the required field you work in? $15, $17,$18,$20, how about with years of experience and technical education? $100k per annum. Your country is messed up, out there no one cares about your degree, as long as you know how to do the job, that makes you qualified. Nigeria is messed up and incredibly corrupt, the reason why a lawyer can be the minister of power and housing. There is a huge difference between being educated and owning a degree, you simply have a flawed mindset of what a dropout should look like. I have a friend who dropped out of a uni in Nigeria because he is too intelligent to be schooled by Nigeria's applauding educational system. He went to a technical school for an IT course in the U.S.A and landed a job with a tech startup in bay area California (Silicon Valley), today he earns about $100k per annum. Of course, if he returns to Nigeria, he will be tagged an illiterate, why? over a worthless piece of paper that can be bought in Nigeria (literally), but in a developed country he's regarded a man of intellect. Back then in school I once had a heating argument with the most intelligent boys in my class, over an incredibly stupid statement. "Airplanes fly with black magic and demons make them fly", believe it or not, there are idiots like this with a first class in Nigeria, graduates who think javascript codes are spells or mathematics, graduates who think it's right for a military man to slap you for answering a phone call at a military checkpoint. You need a man who values education, but a degree? I'm not sure you know the difference.

Hello, Ladies. Interesting views so far, I must tell you. I don't intend meddling with all the ladies throwing around arguments. Please take note of the following:

1. Possession of a degree does not, in anyway, make you think better than someone without it.

2. Marrying a man that possesses a degree does not guarantee you a happy marriage.

3. Bagging a degree is not the true definition of education. Simply put, you're not better educated than one without it.

4. It's not every man without a degree that is jealous of a career-loving wife.

5. 99% of the people that have interracted with me in all spheres of life in the last 12 years (including you) did not know that I never had a degree (till today) .

6. I do not have a degree. What I possess is NCE. With it, I taugh in schools, worked in the financial services sector, worked in the construction and building sector, etc. before resigning into self-employment in October, 2015. Currently in Church, I oversee hundreds of very learned personalities, yet if they are told today that I'm not a graduate, they will say, "it's a lie." Today, I run my own successful school and farm. My in-laws to be do not even bother asking if I'm a graduate or not. Infact, they do not even know and even if they're told, they'll never believe it. My father-in-law to be is a serving Navy Capt. in the Nigerian Navy. I'm marrying their daughter by God's grace next year. I have never stepped outside the shores of Nigeria. Even though I don't possess a university degree, my wife to be does not even bother. It's very good to be a graduate, but that's not all to life.

Away from the topic, the country is more in dire need of sensible and reasonable people than educated people. There are enough graduates though we need more too. Many of the leaders are educated even with foreign degrees but they behave like animals. An uneducated but reasonable person that has opportunity of being exposed will be eager to plant the comforts of life he's been exposed to in a foreign land into his own country, at least to earn a good name.

Wow! This is a very nice topic. In fact, it is actually good and helpful to me.
I do not possess any university degree, I have dropped out from now fewer than three(3) reputable institutions in this country due to financial constraint.
I wanted to obtain a university degree and I tried all I could, but all my effort proved abortive. My mother is poor, my father had died long time ago, I had to fend for myself. So, it is not my fault that I do not have a BSC or its equivalent degree.
Why then am I unsuitable to marry a degree holder, why can't I marry a wife who possess a university degree?
Is BSC degree a prominent criteria in marriage?

there are so many non graduates out there with a better sense of judgement on handling life's issues and even some professional issues that a graduate will fail woefully at. getting an education is just to give you a sharper edge in you chosen field not to make you intelligent or wiser than the next person

real education is that which sharpens your mind and views not the one you sit in class and struggle through courses to be given one sheet of paper for ya effort that's just formality

I had a very bad case in one of the ex governors' house. I was accused. These two women were PAs and they were asked to cordinate a panel to investigate the case thoroughly. The police were trying to nail me,they even asked those women to allow them torture me that I will confess but these women stood by their words and said no,that they won't allow them to torture because they were very sure that I was innocent. I was freed.
