You reek of pride and arrogance (sorry to say) if you still don't get what you did wrong. Now the dust has blown over, don't you feel pretty sad you had to lose your job over something so petty? There would have been more opportunities to take a stand for yourself but pride and the fact you didnt wish to for your boss to disrespect you especially in the presence of women made you feel you must have something to say. So is it right for you to be disrespectful to your boss in the presence of staff? Very few people will stand for that even if its not a one man firm! You need to watch how you speak back at people both big and small even when provoked.

There are other ways you could have handled the situation:

1. Have a word with the lady in question and explain to her that you get cold most times and thats why you need to put the ac on and off intermittently. Invite her to come and sit on your chair and see what you mean. Be nice smile not flirty; most ladies like things like that and your message is usually passed in such circumstance. If you guys have a fall out subsequently on the same issue, she would always understand where you are coming from.

2. Speak to your immediate boss and tell him how difficult it is for you in that corner. Can you move around to another part of the office to avoid the cold? Can you regulate the AC during certain periods of the day? Can it be put off at certain times? Involve him so when you choose to do something, he has your backing.

3. Whenever you feel the urge to burst loose and vent your anger even if you are right, WALK AWAY. Just walk away, the office is not your home where you can flex your muscles and exercise your vocal cords. Your family can put up with that but no one at work needs that drama even a lazy Nairaland loving boss!

Goodluck with the search for your new job. And you should visit the literature session too; you have good writing skills.

This topic just got me remeniscing of all I went thru from inception of the pregnancy til when my daughter was put into my arms.

Its a total joyful experience watching her grow. From the first words she ever mnumbled to her very first steps I witness her take. Then what about her first day in school What about watching her run off to join in the assembly What about watching her at the assembly from my office window every morning (cos her school is next to my place of work)? What about having breakfast together before school What about sleeping on my stomach everytime What about when she pushes her mother away from my body n cuddles up with me? Then what about when she's ill Taking her to the clinic n making sure she gets the best of treatment n what about she doesn't like taking those drugs And what about times I had to spank her I feel for her but I had to be strong emotionally and afterall we r still best of friends lol. I cud recall when she was about 11 months old she wanted to write cos she saw me writing, he wudnt allow me concentrate until I had to put her on the table. Can u guys imagine, I tore a piece of paper for her but she wanted the book instead so I gave her the book and took the sheet of paper. Lol I gave her pencil but she wanted my biro so I ended up with the baby's stuff n she ended up with mine only to be scribbling rubbish all over my book lol. She's all grown up now she's the one teaching daddy how to pronounce words, spell, dress, brush etc

Jesus Christ! This is a blow for me cos ive been following this thread. It was doing great on day 26, so what could be the cause. Someone said its the fertilizer but i dont recall anyone voicing their concern (about the applicaton of fertilizer) at the start of this thread or perhaps i missed it.

So sorry op. I hope you can salvage some, please keep us informed whatever the case may be and dont be discouraged.
