yes, you're fine but you have this "look" of someone who's used to being around white people. More specifically, white girls. I could be wrong but I think you guys' expressions are a dead giveaway. same applies to black/naija women who only date white guys.

Me I dont know how you'll marry naija oh. Go ahead and surprise everybody. cheesy If you can.

Where did you get the impression that any poster on this thread implied that Fela was from a poor family?
from the Wole Soyinka reference.

I wonder why people keep assuming Soyinka, Fela et all, are from poor families? huh

just an observation.

she is fat, but not fat in an obvbious way, anywyas tpia, jennifer aniston and angelina jolie are not fighting over Brad pitt, if they were i think we will all know that, besides that was yday's news, ini edo must have been desperate to marry a guy like that, he is , (no comment), but gud luck to her tho,
true. Their supporters were actually fighting more than either of them.

well, Ini Edo looks happy at her wedding, so good luck to the couple.

Seriously, sometimes its not easy being beautiful. Who says beautiful people dont also cry?

She doesn't even appear fat to me. Why are people saying she's fat? She has a chubby face, she's not skinny, yes BUT she is so not fat.
she used to be skinnier.

I think most people were just shocked to see her get bigger. She's quite heavier than she used to be. If she'd always been plump, then there wouldnt be so much surprise, imo.

She could either be pregnant, it could be a cultural thing, or she didnt watch what she ate in America. American food can catch you unawares if you're not careful. The naija foods in America have huge amounts of calories.

If her weight bothers her or her husband, she'll just have to hit the gym and watch what she eats. If not, then its no one's business, really. Unless there's a health problem.

These days, I dont have a problem with dreaming, Even Obama becoming a USA president was a pipe dream.
you know how it is with a Raisin in the Sun

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Have you ever watched Shark Boy and lava Girl?
CultureRe: Solve The Nigerian Problem By Banning Our Local Languages. by tpia: 6:12pm On Mar 06, 2009
I found this 1979 ethno-linguistic map of Nigeria on the web:

https://img101.imageshack.us/img101/5787/720pxnigerialinguistic1.jpg

I dont know if its over simplified or something, but its still interesting nonetheless. There may be 250 tribes but I doubt there are 250 languages in Nigeria.
CelebritiesRe: Ini Edo Is Married by tpia: 6:01pm On Mar 06, 2009
the make up is much but its still tastefully done. Tyra Banks and most other foreign celebrities apply theirs with a shovel- the cameras just dont show the close ups. cheesy cheesy

Most of those girls on ANTM are wearing gallons of makeup, yet they still look good.

na wa for this love triangle and the nairaland avenging brigade!!!!!! But this man sha- how is he snagging these fine girls? Is he rich or is there something else?  huh

This is just like Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie fighting over Brad Pitt who would also be ugly if he werent a celebrity.

Examples may be found in USA, where her citizens comprise Italians, Irish, Jews, English, etc who have lost their roots and wholly accepted one american way and culture.

It then becomes possible for Arnold Shwarzenegger or Barack Obama to get to the top because no one is insisting it has to be my village kinfolk that must occuppy this position.

If Nigerians spoke just one language (English or Pidgin for example), then gradually we wont be worried about whether its a Northerner or Easterner at the top. We would then be more concerned with the integrity and capability of whoever gets voted in.

Does anyone follow my train of thought here?
I totally get your point.

But assuming this western style can work in Nigeria, is a pipe dream.

Most Nigerians feel they'll die if they dont do their culture.

In all fairness though, WWI and II had a lot to do with how the US is today. I just read this book which explained a little bit about what some US nationals went through during these wars. Especially the ones whose home countries were at war with America- eg Italy and Japan. It was a very difficult time for such people even though they had US loyalties, since many of them were treated as enemy combatants anyway, in the interest of national security.

why must you always mention Delta state everytime. Are you the only person from there, or are you the only cultist in Nigeria.

Please face your satanism and leave your state and tribe out of it- why are you so bent on giving the place a bad name.

Most traditionalists also serve satan in one form or the other- so stop parading yourself as if you're so unique.

Funny enough, Ojo is my next door neighbor in the village, I should be rooting for him. But truth is, he is a non performer, charity they say begins at home. But the road in his area is the worst in the country. If you've been in the highest corridors of power for over 6 years and your immediate constituency cant feel any Federal presence nor feel you as an individual, that for me, is FAILURE!

maybe the man is afraid of you, hence his absence from home.

if una go dey take bad eye look person everytime, why im no go comot imself from una front.

anyway, I'm sure its probably bad luck to abuse a bride at her own wedding- bad luck of karma that is.Not for the bride but for the people doing the abusing. This isnt Jane Eyre, abeg. Most people here would still want to get married someday.   I've never in my life heard someone being villified like this just because she got married. Even when the man is taking on an additional wife to the other ones at home- people still dont cuss out the bride in this manner.

At the end of the day, its their life, not other people's own.

I wonder the basis of this thread and whether its even necessary anyway it just seem to explain how some of us Nigerians think, you want to put Ojo for president a man that has being in almost all regime of governance, a man who is neither hot nor cold, a man that just obeys orders and never stood out for what is right, a man that never bothered to resign when things were going wrong in any govt, some1 that does not even know where he stands. This man just keeps on playing safe to keep on enjoying the privileges’ of governance. Not being biased but in my opinion I want a Man to be the president of Nigeria whom you can easily know where he stands and not a chameleon.
the major thing I'm seeing here is some Nigerians do not want an intelligent person ruling them.

thats all.

Someone doesnt have to carry issues on his head just because he's Nigerian.
