If you read Things Fall Apart, the character that critics see as embodying Achebe’s views was Obierika.
hmm

But Achebe’s life reads more like Okonkwo in terms of an insistence of principle and absence of accommodation.
i doubt it

MY pet peeve is the acronym milf.

It took me a while to understand what it meant and i have to say, what an utterly disgusting and classless term.

But am i surprised its commonly used on nl.

Na today?

Romance › Re: Some Ladies N Bad Mouth by tpia5: 10:43pm On Apr 08, 2013
Its no big deal, the lady is simply not looking for husband yet.

There's nothing there that needs to affect your self esteem, just keep it moving and waka pass.

When she needs husband, she'll jump on any male in sight if men are scarce.

Romance › Re: I'm In My 40s and I'm Still A Sexy Woman... by tpia5:
When you base your entire life on physical attributes- everything revolves around the opposite sex and the deadbeats who know nothing else besides talking crap anyhow, why wont you consider "sexiness" a priority at any age.

No interest in anything else besides attracting the opposite sex.

Such a pity.

If some m.oron does not consider somebody sexy or attractive for whatever reason, including age, and so what? huh
Romance › Re: I'm In My 40s and I'm Still A Sexy Woman... by tpia5:
To the best of my knowledge, there's no policy in clubs stating certain ages are or are not allowed there.

The fact remains its extremely distasteful the way nlers tend to go on and on about age as if nobody in their families ever reached those milestones. They are cursed is what they're indirectly telling us.

As per older women acting as cougars, that is the concern of them and their sugar sons.

Do we not see their pictures here every other week when they're getting married to their 28 years junior, and do these same nlers not curse out anyone who raises objections to such unions.

If an older woman is gallivanting around under the impression there's something wrong with being the age she is ( maybe she's ashamed of being older), then those of you who are offended by the sight, can form your own age specific group and kick yourselves out when you reach the age in question.

As per the older women who are being abused here, well, hope you're happy being disrespected by a bunch of aging cockatoos feeling funky. undecided

Most nlers who insult people on account of their age, lack home training.

Eod.

Could also be a sign of mental problems since most of them tend to display this even in their general posts.

^get a life.

You spend too much time on the internet and still cant boast of any race at all as a girlfriend.

Might have something to do with your negativity ( overly much for your age) and juju nature?

Misogyny too

The reason why African American's Thirst to Claim Everyone is because it has been forcefully fed into their ideological beliefs
also because they're descended from everyone, or mixed with everyone.

kenraj: I have been wondering if this has given anyone a thought of ones homecoming from trip , most especially abroad to your spousspouse, fiance, parents or siblings . I am a living example where my wife picks quarrels with me if i don't inform my mom dat am coming home from my base claiming they l term her a bad wife or if i don't tell her also, she claims she s not important to me any longer.

Please share your experiences and what you feel is not right about my actions.
why should nlers tell you what is right or wrong about your actions?

are you committing crimes? huh

as per topic, you know your reasons for not telling your wife or mum of your movements. Your choice, your life.

nlers arent there with you to know what your situation is.

for others who are travelling and are concerned about safety issues or attacks from other elements, lift your situation up to God.

its not advisable to broadcast your travel plans, but if you're the type who cant keep things quiet, then pray abi wetin make person talk.

nobody can go before their time and nobody can stay past their time.

Politics › Re: South African Wives Of Nigerians Protest In Johannesburg by tpia5: 8:16pm On Apr 07, 2013
shymexx: Lmao @ the bolded... I never claimed that I was more suited to non-Nigerian women - I'm just giving these wonderful women props for showing me love and appreciating me for who I'm... and that's something most Nigerian women don't do, to be honest... Personally, it's nothing but love for Nigerian women... However, it's better to call Nigerian women out from time-to-time for their excessiveness... Really and truly, most Nigerian women overdo everything and that's why guys are trying other options....

Also, women from these other countries tend to be more cultured and traditional than Nigerian women... and no matter how you look at it, that's every single guy's kryptonite... We all want to be catered to, pampered, and loved... and most Nigerian women don't exude these qualities... Nigerian women are most times rude, arrogant, and all-up-in-your-face type of women - ain't no one got time for that ish, tbh... grin

However, when it's all said and done, I'm most likely going to end up with a naija woman, anyway... I personally can't deal with having a family with too many cultures colliding... and since Nigerian cultures are intertwined, a Nigerian woman is most likely going to get my ring... grin tongue
stop making excuses for your bad manners.

if you wouldnt describe your mother and sisters using similar language, then dont generalize for others in such fashion.

i'm not making excuses for nigerian women or claiming they're angels [they're not, we've been shown this myriads of times, especially with our public media and juju mindset], but to start listing their so-called "faults" just because you refuse to admit to the same in other women, is just annoying.

if you dont know the other side of the cultures you're carrying on your head, na your own wahala be that.

shymexx: The point is how can you be acting all stuck and annoying to us naija men and our swagger on a thousand trillion, yet you're quick to open ya legs to these other men who can't compete with ushuh That's the tedious mathematics that we're trying to understand!! grin
doesnt everybody open their legs to everybody else?

are you one of those males who say they're looking for virgins after passing through hundreds of women?

nigerians should pray for their leaders, because whatever measure is used on the leaders will also be extended to the general populace.
