violent: ah!...You study in the states and have probably spent a large chunk of your adult life reading Wall Street Journal articles, Financial Times or the Washington post...I get how out of touch you must be with the Nigerian situation, having been exposed to a world in which competition is rife for the top-of-the-class talents and the industry can actually afford to train and compensate such talents adequately. It's simple, if the society demands quality, it must be willing to pay for it, in terms of improving education standards, available infrastructure and adequately rewarding sound talents.

I get how frustrated it must feel to learn that there's actually another world out there where millions go though learning in the most intolerable environmental conditions and are forced by the society to obtain degrees either by hook or crook means which they themselves cannot convince themselves why they must obtain those degrees.

I get how out of touch you must be with the Nigerian situation if you've actually attended in the very least, a modest education and must probably think every other Nigerian had the same opportunity as you. It must be frustrating eh?

I'm not the type to justify mediocrity, but the reality is what i have mentioned in my first post. I'm convinced it is a little far fetched to demand so much from people whose environment, opportunities, and exposure offered them so little. It will be completely bizarre to expect the same sort of results from someone who schooled in one of the classrooms below with another who attended Eton college, don't you think?
not an excuse!!!!!

people schooled in those environments in times past and still didnt sound like illiterates when they wrote articles!!!!

stagger: Stupid journalists everywhere. Pilots hardly look for work for long because their skill is so specialized and highly sought after.
envy really prevents a lot of people's progress.

i've said times without number- when people make it their job to constantly be sniffing another person's butt, dem go just craze sooner or later.

Christianity Etc › Re: How Is Jesus Son Of David? by tpia5: 9:28pm On Sep 22, 2012
joseph and mary were most likely from the same clan, or tribe, and therefore probably shared the same lineage.

so, mary's genealogy would be more or less the same as joseph's own.
Christianity Etc › Re: 7 Ways People Enter Into Evil Covenants by tpia5: 9:17pm On Sep 22, 2012
technically its called covenant but actually, a situation in which one party unknowingly enters such and is bound by rules which s/he might not have consented to, is slavery.

key word here is non-consenting.

also, the party involved might not be aware they are to all intents and purposes, the slave of the other person who terms it a covenant.

and that's why the consequences of breaking the unwritten agreement [or not following the orders as laid out], are usually implied to be very harsh.

he's not in the oil sector where losing your job is a serious problem.

he's a pilot and so, will get a job elsewhere.

i'm just surprised he's working for this airline?

would have thought he'd be with a place like british airways or something.
Islam › Re: Why Do Muslim Guys Prefer To Date Christians Girls? by tpia5: 6:49pm On Sep 22, 2012
I am not nigerian but lived in 4 continents. the simple answer is mutual, the christian girls see a brand of innocense in the muslim guy, mainly because muslim come from a sober lifestyle, and the muslim guy likes the christian girl because she comes usually from a more worldly society and can show him the world and speak the language of the world. other christian girls will find most muslim guys either naive, silly or just uncomfortable with the religion. other muslim guys dont in the first place date, and will find most christian girls too promiscous.
"naive" muslim guy? huh

never met one.

I think your analysis is a bit flawed although since you say you're not nigerian, maybe your context is different.

but maybe others might agree with you.

i personally wouldnt say they're "naive", or "innocent", but just careful, thuogh i could be wrong.

in what way is Islam going to bring about a new world order?

If by new world order you mean conquest of non-muslim nations and compelling them to convert to Islam, then i still fail to see how that's something new given the fact that many Muslim countries now were once Christian.

if, however, by new world order you're referring to the Muslim world itself, then that's an entirely different implication.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
four different personality types are mentioned here.

1. sheep

2. wolves

3. serpents

4. doves

characteristics of each one:

1. Sheep: very gentle, easy to direct, and generally trusting. Not necessarily known for being alert to danger.

2. Wolves: bloodthirsty, cunning, restless, implacable. Extremely selfish, or self serving, meaning a wolf always considers its own self only- no other interests can supercede its own.

3. Serpent: sly, deceptive, cunning, it will not tell an outright lie but rather a half truth, which will ultimately be more deadly than an actual untruth.

Has a form of wisdom meaning it's an expert in reading thoughts and desires and in addition, will always be on the lookout for how to twist these. A destroyer.

4. Doves: reliable, steadfast, gentle, can see far distances (re: noah's ark), can be used to guage a situation due to their intuitive abilities. Harmless, meaning they are not out to destroy, or destructive.

i think the phrase "new world order" are pretty much self explanatory.

how you're mixing it with Islam is what is not yet clear.

I mean, i dont want to jump to the obvious conclusions which might not make sense to everybody.
