Ok, unfortunately for Muslims in Nigeria today, the people that call themselves BH have taken it upon themselves to tarnish the reputations of Muslims by their constant killing of innocents and quoting of Qur'anic verses out of context to 'back up' their evil ways.
so what exactly do you want the christians to do?

or why are you refusing to acknowledge their own losses and persecution while throwing a pity party for yourself?
Family › Re: Cultural Differences Matters A Lot In Marriage? by tpia5: 8:00pm On Jun 26, 2012
Beowulf: The highlighted part had me reeling with laughter but is very true. I have this Yoruba colleague that is as culturally inclined to Yoruba stuffs like I am to Ibo matters. He told me that he found it strange that I was usually the only one that fights his corner during arguments about Yoruba culture against the "sophisticated" Yoruba ladies in my office who deride him as "village Ekiti man". We find ourselves these days comparing notes on similar aspects of our cultures and the areas of divergence helping understand the other side better. I could identify with him because I have the same issue with the "sophisticated" Ibo ladies in my office who see me as anachronistic accusing me of wasting my education and calling me "importer" grin
things like this are what make it easier for the men to simply date outsiders, no doubt.

i dont know sha- i grew up listening to musicians like elemure ogunyemi [i think it is], orlando owo, obey, sunny ade, fuji, etc.

so, i dont know what its like socially for men who have these interests, and while i dont stock up on nollywood, i meet people all the time who do- including non nigerians.

personally, being local goes beyond things like that imo- attitude and behaviour are what should be the qualifying factors if i'm not mistaken.
Romance › Re: How Do You Handle A Guy Who Wouldn't Let You Break Up With Him? by tpia5: 7:52pm On Jun 26, 2012
She decided to explain everything to her bf, all the reasons she's not in love anymore all but the dude is proving difficult. He says, he just can not let it go. He just can not. And he is serious. He seem too in love to quit. Infact he proposed on the very day she broke up with him. After she said everything, what he had to say was "will you marry me" with a ring out of the blue. He was extra romantic to her, and he didn't even seems to care about the break up. He say that he haven't done any wrong to just let it go like that. I told her to cut all communication with him, but he turns up everyday, to her house. My friend is beginning to get scared. She don't want to call the police on him because she don't want to be that cold. He embarrassed her at social occasions cause he poses as her bf. He keeps calling her "my woman" "my baby" etc etc.
does the guy need a green card or something?

strange behaviour- hope he's not a nutjob.

ok, why do people keep going on and on about all these things when Jesus himself expressly told his disciples about false teachers who if possible would deceive even the very elect, not to mention the bible itself is full of warnings about the same? huh

Romance › Re: 75% Of Women Are Unlikely To Date Jobless Men by tpia5: 7:14pm On Jun 26, 2012
more women are getting good jobs these days, while quite a lot of men are falling behind in this area.

so, not really too many choices per se.

if you dont date a jobless man, somebody else will.
