Ivynwa: Nsogbu! Wahala on top of wahala.
Can somebody share a consoling version. A story that goes like "the plane fell apart and many people scrambled out" how we wish that happened.

Ivynwa waves with tips of her fingers
Hello Tpia!, Howdy?

Mbatuku2, I understand your point on variety in dishes. I must admit that is a fault yoruba women need to work on but not that they can't cook, Yes they can cook in general.
you dey craze.

why dont you ponder the faults your mum needs to work on?
Politics › Re: Eyewitnesses Say Injured Foreigner Walked Out Of Plane by tpia5: 2:53am On Jun 06, 2012
another account said two white men jumped out of the plane before it crash landed, but unfortunately they were directly under the spot where it came down.

mbatuku2: I thought many of you would be able to read my mind without me spelling everything out. What I mean is not having many mouth-watering delicacies.

Ofcourse, it's expected a yoruba woman should know how to make amala and ewedu. So those times I said 'yoruba people cant cook', I was emphasizing their lack of varied dishes.
yes, na so you go chop till they sprinkle something inside food for you.

Stop maligning people unnecessarily simply because you're looking for a yoruba man to matchmake with your female tribesmember from anywhere. Its annoying and you should fear karma.

Seriously, i have nothing against the woman personally, but the killings and murders associated with this regime are something else. Is it every regime that's like this?
Politics › Re: Who Closed The Airspace On Sunday 3 June 2012? Is 1st Lady For Dana Crash? by tpia5: 9:02pm On Jun 05, 2012
If the plane didnt explode until 20 or 30 mins after the crash, why didnt anyone exit via the emergency doors?

oyb: the buck stops at 1914

unless its credit for projects conceived and implemented before gej, but completed in his tenure
maybe the buck should stop at the year somebody got the bright idea of selling their colleagues to the impressive visitors in the giant horses that sailed on the sea. Who gave out a lot of trinkets.

what happened is known to God, but i find it hard to believe there was no prior knowledge there was going to be a mass killing.

even on nl some had already prepared themselves in anticipation of the news, and in real life too, same thing.

here, there were threads from alleged women who insisted they could only date widowers and no one else, etc etc and all manner of creepy ghoulish posts and posters.

likewise immediately after the crash, people started opening fake threads claiming to be relatives of the victims.

there was also a fake bb page of some girl making the rounds. A man too. Likewise, there were a number of obituary threads making the rounds, and God is punishing you thread. Seriously, it still amazes me how people will openly gloat and plan over the demise of others who they dont know from adam, yet they still consider themselves human. O ga sha. God punish devil o. What you sow, you will reap.
Politics › Re: Who Closed The Airspace On Sunday 3 June 2012? Is 1st Lady For Dana Crash? by tpia5: 8:22pm On Jun 05, 2012
I just confirmed Patience Jonathan was actually in Lagos on the said date
i saw a thread alluding to her presence in lagos a day or two before the crash.

someone was complaining about traffic, i think, and there was a post explaining the first lady was there.

GEJ ever distance himself from sad news and death?
this egbesu cult that seems to be affiliated with him- is it a death cult?

And we need to bring the first lady to order. She seems to be going to lagos everyday these days.
i was wondering why she spends so much time in lagos.

is something scaring her in abuja or is something going on in lagos?

but if she feels uneasy in abuja, i'd expect her to be more comfortable in port harcourt since i'm not aware she used to spend a lot of time in lagos before moving to aso rock.
Politics › Re: 2 Hours Shut Down Of Airport For Patience Jonathan Caused The Crash - Breaking by tpia5: 7:55pm On Jun 05, 2012
baby christening?

in lagos?

for someone who i assume lives in abuja?

why couldnt her PA do it in abuja abi wetin dey lagos wey dem no get for abuja?

i really hope the story is in error.

why would MMA be shut down for two hours for no valid reason? Would officials at that level use a general airport or a private airstrip?

mbatuku2: Just to generalize a little, it's a common belief among Igbo people that yoruba people cant cook, and more specifically yoruba women.

Probably, it's one of the reasons why an Igbo man might want to stay clear off yoruba women. (My theory, though!)
evereybody always says their father's farm is the largest and likewise people tend to feel their mother's soup is the sweetest.

key word here is SUBJECTIVE.

yoruba women dont cook igbo soup same way you dont see igbos cooking ewedu.

doesnt make anything good or bad, right or wrong.

that's like saying americans cant cook because you dont see them cooking fufu.
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by tpia5: 7:45pm On Jun 05, 2012
afam4eva: I think the reason why Igbo men usually don't look outside for a wife is because their women have all the qualities that they could possibly look for in a wife. It's only when you don't have something at home that you go outside to get it.
so how do you explain the huge number of people with igbo fathers and non-igbo mothers? huh
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by tpia5: 4:41pm On Jun 05, 2012
igbo men look at character and attitude mostly when they go after a mate, because that is what they have been told all their life that physical beauty is nothing compared to inner( character, attitude, etc).
you got it backwards (intentionally?).

igbos value beauty greatly.

yorubas are the ones who esteem character more.
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by tpia5: 4:39pm On Jun 05, 2012
mbatuku2: I think the only complaint here is yoruba women cant cook.
is that so?

so if someone opens a thread saying igbo women cant cook, should that be considered gospel?
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by tpia5: 4:38pm On Jun 05, 2012
PhysicsQED: huh

Can you actually back up some of the generalizations you make once in a while?
If you're not an expert on Igbo culture and Urhobo culture, how can you just declare them to be "the same"? In fact, if you're not an expert on all of those cultures, how can you just claim that they're the same?

I would have stayed out of this thread, but the statement I quoted above needs an explanation.
you're too eager to pick fights over anything edo/bini.

Compared to yoruba culture, edo has more in common with the cultures towards the east, than southwest.

in any case, edo doesnt always mean bini- there are other tribes who lean more towards igbo/southeast/southsouth in nature.

cant argue with that anyway.
Culture › Re: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by tpia5:
i dont see anything surprising about igbo males marrying ibibos, urhobos, ijaws, edos, or any other group towards the east.

The culture is the same, so what's the big deal.

Yoruba culture, on the other hand, is very different from the Igbo one. Compatibility might be an issue especially if the female is the non igbo- too much of a problem adapting, imo. Unless the man knows and was raised in yoruba culture, and even then, still not easy.

as per men throwing themselves at women or women throwing themselves at men - what's new or tripping you about either? huh

most definitely when i see you in church, we should try to be more civil to each other. Just a friendly warning which you are of course free to disregard! cheesy Make una carry una coven go meet person wey like winches oh! grin That person certainly aint me because na JESUS I dey follow, not jezebel.

My post was referring to your seemingly half literate viewpoints you've been spouting of late. You dropped the ball honey- you were on a roll (somewhat) before, until you went gaga.

Are other people using your id or do you simply like discarding civilization once in a while ( or frequently). Although even an illiterate wouldnt consider a baby grasping something, as a wonder? Have you never seen a baby before or you just consider all babies your enemy? (Minus this miraculously willy wonka baby of course).

Wow, see the dangers of the internet. Deols who used to appear learned and with a modicum of common sense, has really shown herself in a different light. Amazing. People who choose their life partners based on a web or nairaland personality, una dey try sha! Anyway, like attracts like. I've always said its rather strange when people rely on the web alone for social stimulation. Shows something is off somewhere.
