ohnyore: my house is opposite the BTO HALL, lecture for the venue, nothing serious really happened there, it was just ACN and LP supporters throwing stones at each other, you need to see the stone fight, there were no gun shots, it was only the mobile policemen that fired several tear gas, Akure boys no sabi do wahala at all, i just tire for all of them.
sounds more like it.

but nigerian politics is too much wahala sha- i tire for them.

lord have mercy.

my grandPa sighted a dead Iguana floating by on the river but despite his best efforts to draw my grandmas attention away from the carcass( She's originally from the Town across the Niger) she sighted it and started wailing! My grandpa had to go after the dead and floating Iguana, retrieve it and conduct a little "burial" ceremony b4 they continued their trip to the farm!
na oyibo she be? huh

Jenwitemi: And how does the christian god react to flatteries? Do you know? He does get tons and tons of flatteries 24/7 from Christians themselves.. You need to ask the christian god all those questions whenever you meet him.

king Canute

Legend of the waves

King Canute is best remembered for the story of how he commanded the waves to go back in Bosham.

According to oral tradition, he grew tired of flattery by the locals. "You are the greatest man that ever lived," one would say. "O king, there can never be another as mighty as you," another would say. "Great Canute, you are the monarch of all, nothing in this world would dare to disobey you."

When one such flatterer said the king could command the obedience of the sea, the King proved him wrong by practical demonstration on the foreshore.

"Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings. For there is none worthy of the name but God, whom heaven, earth and sea obey".

So spoke the King, seated on his throne with the waves lapping around his feet. "Go back, sea!" he commanded time and again, but the tide continued as expected. Canute put it to his courtiers that the sea was not obeying him and insisted they stay there until they admitted it.
Christianity Etc › The Purpose Of Flattery [in religion] by tpia5(op):
i notice a lot of people are very susceptible to flattery and being buttered up.

of course its important for self esteem [i suppose? huh]

what's the balance between depending on flattery for self-validation, and maintaining a healthy self image without being anti-social or perceived as such [seems to be a fear common to many].

snapping someone's pics without their consent, and uploading photos to the web with the intention of blackmail or otherwise haranguing them, is a criminal offence.

my two cents- of course its a free world oh.

could have been an oversight, or maybe not.

i guess they preferred him to be exactly as his fans remember him.

interesting vista of possibilities, and i guess this opens a vast new array of material which the "other side/s" can use to influence people.

putting it nicely, and i'm referring to holographic projections.

used to be sci fi and disney stuff.

i saw it on star trek voyager sha, years ago.

as per #2

# 3 can supercede that.

not every target market wants value per se, or maybe its just that the definition of value can be contextual and subjective.

^why jumping on all men when at most you'll only date a limited number.

they are individual personalities, not a herd per se.

i mean the ones you date will have individual personalities and everything still depends on what type of male character you feel you are attracted to.

the thread is lefulefu-ish.
Romance › Re: Rich Ladies - Does Being Financially Stable Make U Hard 2 Get? by tpia5: 3:03am On Apr 18, 2012
I used to think girls find it easier to up their ante socially than guys
true as per socially [not financially because guys in general have some clout in that area], but the males are catching up. Once a woman looks pretty with enough makeup or whatever, she can generally pass in high class society as long as she keeps her mouth shut and doesnt draw too much attention to whatever makes her different from the status quo. The same doesnt always apply to males.

men generally want to marry "up", or whatever they feel is up, while women have more freedom and flexibility in this area. They can marry up or down without receiving too much stress so to speak. Just my opinion, could be wrong.

once again, referring to regular relationships, not out of the norm ones such as the two timing husband of five wives already who wants to adds more to his harem.
Romance › Re: Rich Ladies - Does Being Financially Stable Make U Hard 2 Get? by tpia5: 2:45am On Apr 18, 2012
that's ok, dont you think? huh

or are you referring to goldiggers?

i think an ajebutter guy and an ajepako girl would be a very bad match. Especially if its one of these extremely butty-ish guys wey be like adie agric-ish types.

ajebutter girl can still manage somehow with ajepako male, if need be.

speaking in the nigerian context- dont know what holds outside nigeria as per such things.

I know guys who do not date girls outside G.R.A and above kind of residents
Everyone should stick to their comfort zone imo.

nothing wrong with that.

unless you mean the guys are goldiggers or something, but na them sabi sha.

i assume you're referring to guys from such areas sticking to girls from the same.

not necessarily a bad thing? huh
