"My son" (said the Tarkaan) " by all means desist from kicking the venerable and enlightened Vizier: for as a costly jewel retains its value even if hidden in a dunghill, so old age and discretion are to be respected even in the vile persons of our subjects"

A Stitch in Time by Ann Rinaldi

" It's what you've been trying to do all along" he elaborated, "make up for matters that can never be right in this family. Things happen to people in life, Hannah. Terrible things that change people, that sometimes ruin families. You cant set yourself up above such things and try to make them as before. It doesnt work"

" What's the harm in trying?" (she asked)."Especially if some good comes out of it?"

"The harm, Hannah, is that you hurt everyone trying. You open up old wounds. You go against the tide. You prevent the healing. And who's to say good will come out of (what you're doing)?"

It doesnt change the truth and neither will it change your judgement.
Christianity Etc › Re: What God Has Joined Together . . . by tpia5: 6:13pm On Feb 14, 2012
I am totally against so-called christians whho make it their mission to wander around like satan seeking whom to destroy.

Its very unfortunate that the worldly attitude of being anti-marriage and anti-family is the same spirit of ungodliness professed by many if not most church goers.

I find it sickening the way people tend to behave sometimes.

Unbelievers at least have the excuse of not knowing Christ. What excuse do most of these so-called christians have?

And this attitude is found across all levels of the church- what a disaster and shameless state of affairs.

When good becomes bad and immorality is the norm, then i wonder why people will keep fooling themselves that they are christians.

Just go hang out at clubs or strip joints already, take drugs, drink and stop denying yourselves of anything at all since your hearts and minds are filthier than people in other lifestyles.

That is my two cents and i'll be back with more.

Anyone who doesnt like what i say can attack me if they're so inclined.
Christianity Etc › Re: What God Has Joined Together . . . by tpia5: 4:01pm On Feb 14, 2012
Its just human nature to constantly try to break apart marriages.

Christians are no exception and in fact many churchgoers make it their mission to destroy homes.

I'm a christian but i'll still tell it like it is.

And poster plz do not develop an attitude because i'm posting on a thread started by you.

Politics › Re: Ojukwu's Burial: Crowd Control As The Greatest Challenge During Burial by tpia5: 12:34pm On Feb 14, 2012
I checked the thread to see suggestions on what to do about the crwod control and all i saw was people wailing and getting all emotional- same as with most ojukwu threads.

Well, understandable given the huge loss incurred by the civil war, but practical suggestions are what is needed now since a foreseeable problem has been identified.

Islam › Re: Who Should Go To Hajj, Mum Or Wife? by tpia5: 12:21pm On Feb 14, 2012
His mum should go.

A lot of people have a deep desire to visit the middle east which they've been nursing since like forever.

Because that's where the major religions started and it makes them feel closer to God.
Education › Re: Can Educators Reveal Their Experience With Nigerian Students? by tpia5: 11:51am On Feb 14, 2012
Of course there was no widespread use of cell phones or internet back then sO i dont know how it is to be an educator now.

And like some have pointed out, the govt has a long way to go when it comes to facilitating infrastructure and the learning environment.
Education › Re: Can Educators Reveal Their Experience With Nigerian Students? by tpia5: 11:47am On Feb 14, 2012
I used to be an educator and i cant really complain about the students.

True, i had the occasional joker/unserious student here and there but most faced their studies. I guess environment matters a lot, as well as the attitude of the teacher.

I would have liked to try teaching in the less developed parts of the country or in underpriviledged areas but unfortunately i didnt get to do that before leaving nigeria.
Christianity Etc › Re: Christianity Vs. The Old Gods Of Nigeria by tpia5: 4:52am On Feb 14, 2012
The only ancient relics i can travel to look at are the egyptian artefacts, in egypt.

I'm certainly not keen on going somewhere where i'll be getting evil looks from locals on account of my not being from the area.

So, if you dont put your artwork in a book for others to see, then i'll take it to mean you dont want me in particular viewing them.

That's all.
Better call foreigners if you need tourists.

if they're not friendly then just leave them alone.

personally, i prefer such types to the ones who pretend to be friendly even when they dont like you.

the latter are far more dangerous.

its good your wife greeted them and the baby. You've done your part and thats what matters.

People will simply see you as a walking atm machine only useful for making money.

@ arrived

well said.

The time spent crying about not having a boyfriend could be better spent doing something constructive, but that's just me.
