Cork in particular, let us know when you have a life because you're quite irritating but you seem to be the only one who doesnt know that.
Nairaland General › Folks, If I Dont Call Your Name Then Dont Call Mine by tpia5(op): 5:21am On Feb 09, 2012
I know you all envy me and want to be me but i have no idea what to do to help your low self esteem and self hatred.

Ask God why he created you you and me me.

So, the likes of cork (who i virtually never respond to on this forum and who never feels at ease if he doesnt respond to my own posts), lasinoh/blazay/militia/almondjoy/whatever, and whoever else has a fixated obsession with me, try to find something to interest you in life besides me.

Am i clear enough or am i inaudible.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It God's Will For Us To Be Rich? by tpia5: 12:34am On Feb 09, 2012
Prosperity has many definitions, or contexts.

Godliness with contentment is great gain, and at the same time the bible says its God's will that we prosper even as our souls prosper.

Personally, if my being rich entails doings things that go against my convictions, then i simply dont have the drive to pursue such "riches" further.

Hercules

Politics › Re: The Yoruba Kiriji Wars (1877 - 1893) by tpia5: 9:38pm On Feb 08, 2012
that statement by hercules can only mean one thing:

fulanis have invaded yorubaland.

i hope i'm wrong.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It God's Will For Us To Be Rich? by tpia5: 9:34pm On Feb 08, 2012
^^true.

however, it might be God's will for some to be rich, doesnt mean everybody has to be. [even though we all want to be].

besides, riches dont consist of material things alone.

quite relative, imo.

The site has to be better regulated before that happens or else it will only be used for spreading hatred.

That's the way it IS taught, at least as far as i know. Fact remains it ended in a stalemate, never mind the errors on this thread.

That's why relying on google and nl alone cant give a full or accurate picture of history.

Anyway, another side effect of those wars was they contributed greatly to the mixing of yorubaland because populations of people were transplanted from their home areas, due to slavery or migration, to start afresh elsewhere in yorubaland. Some returned home after the wars while many did not.
Romance › Re: When A Mother Decided To Find A Wife For Her Son. by tpia5: 2:10am On Feb 08, 2012
Is the girl not the type you usually date, or what exactly dont you like about her.

imo, it depends on the qualities the girl has- just because your mum brought her doesnt automatically mean she should be disqualified.

If however you feel strongly about your mum interfering in your personal life then dont string the girl along and let her find her own man.

@ topic

maybe folks should have civil/kiriji war renactments like Americans do.

You sound like someone who bases his knowledge on hearsay and google.
Not actual familiarity with the subject matter.

Imo, the pictures should just be removed because i fail to see his point.
The bronzes in questin are not idols and there are many threads discussing them in the culture secton.

Cant remember seeing him contribute there.
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Begins Manhunt For Members That ‘betrayed’ Abul Qaqa by tpia5: 12:18pm On Feb 07, 2012
Parents from one place, offspring raised in another place, etc.

Is any of this a reason to go haywire?

Or is something lost in translation when people are mixed?
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Begins Manhunt For Members That ‘betrayed’ Abul Qaqa by tpia5: 12:16pm On Feb 07, 2012
These people claiming mixed ethnicity or who are descended from non-indigenes of a particular place, need to get their act together.

Far too often, they are used by criminal masterminds to wreak destruction and spread lawlessness all over the Place.

I'm not sure why they (mixed populations) are so susceptible to manipulation but whatever it is, they should try and get their act together and stop being so easy to control.
This kind of thing usually brings problems and hardship on others who have nothing to do with them, and even entire demographic populations in general.

Nobody said it was easy being torn between two worlds but for goodness sake make the best of what you have and let go of the chip on your shoulder.

Even the US has mixed people (not referring to biracials alone) under surveillance because quite a lot of them have been hobnobbing in questionable manners.

See this boko haram for instance. You hear of father from one place, mother from another place, etc.
Politics › Re: Arrest Of Non-Kanuris Divided Boko Haram - Abu Qaqa by tpia5: 12:02pm On Feb 07, 2012
Na wa o.

Lord have mercy, smh.

Why is boko haram filled with so many foreigners to begin with.

And are these foreigners giving boko haram info on their home areas?

What a shame but no be today sha. And what kind of person joins that kind of organization knowing full well he has a family? You are killing other people's families while thinking yours will remain safe?

The dangers of extremism.

This is why westerners say look before you leap. If you allow yourself to be dragged into a terrorist organization in the name of being religious, then na your life be that oh. You wont get it back.

Obasanjo office ke?

It seems they also opened an office for "church affairs" as well. With focus on a particular church which is well known.

Seems jonathan pissed them off. Or is it tipped them off.
Romance › Re: Ladies, Are Older Men Much Better In Relationships Than Younger Men? by tpia5: 11:41am On Feb 07, 2012
It's the height of folly (not to mention laziness) to assume just because a man is older, therefore he'll be better at relationships than a younger one.

Quite hilarious, really.

I suspect this has more to do with inheritance issues (older man vs younger- do the maths for the woman in question).

The only area in which a scheming woman might have an advantage when choosing an older man over a younger one is the older man is likely to be less picky and choosy about who he dates, than most of the younger men.
Romance › Re: How Can I Get Him? by tpia5: 11:35am On Feb 07, 2012
When you grow older you'll understand wanting someone doesnt necessarily mean you have to get someone.

Besides, the saying be careful what you wish for, is literally quite true.
Romance › Re: Why Are Nigerian Girls So Money-conscious? by tpia5: 11:31am On Feb 07, 2012
Money has wings.

Rich today doesnt mean rich tomorrow.

People choose armed robbery and scamming as their occupations for a reason which is cash flow and bigmanism ie keeping up with the joneses.
Culture › Re: Myth or Reality: Yoruba is closer to the Edos culturally than the East is. by tpia5: 11:03am On Feb 07, 2012
the dangers that people are exposed to online, and on this nairaland in particular, is just too much, really.

if you dont know what you're doing, won kan ma f'ori enyan gba paaro ni. ie they'll just scam you till you drop dead.

so many people being led astray because they lack knowledge.
