Nairaland General › Removing The Anonymity Of The Internet by tpia5(op): 9:12am On May 07, 2011
should people's locations and ip addresses be displayed along with their posts?

i think that might be necessary sooner or later.

for example, something like danasoft does, where the site displays your info as you log on.

check it out.

**would have added a poll but i dont see the poll option.

the nigerians in south africa are south african, not nigerian.
Politics › State Of The Yoruba Union by tpia5(op): 8:58am On May 07, 2011
what is the current state of the Yoruba union because the way i see it, there are far too many souls within who have only one goal, which is to hand-deliver yorubas, to the highest bidders.

i do not think our forefathers [or the british colonials] were wrong when they decentralised the administrative function and bolstered [to some extent] the self government and self determination of the various groups which make up the southwest. That way, one region would find it more difficult to impose on the others at least militarily if not politically.

Given the rampant activities of slavers at the time, who roamed everywhere and penetrated even to the furthermost villages in every region, i see the reason why it was necessary to keep people on their guard.

now, i've noticed quite a few of our "brothers" tend to have no ultimate vision beyond selling yorubas to different purchasers.

for some, it's benin, for others, its whites, ghana, arabs, etc.

now, what exactly is the gain here, assuming you really believe in what you're doing.

is this promoting infrastructural development and good governance or is it simply a way to line your pockets with filthy lucre or to shine your overbloated ego.
Nairaland General › Re: Buzugee/Nairaland, So I Want To Talk About Living Abroad by tpia5: 8:43am On May 07, 2011
the "people" [can one call them that] i'm referring to know themselves.

some of us spend a lot of time and effort countering the bad rap our so-called "brothers" are bent on giving us as a whole, and i really dont appreciate the kind of s.tupidity and wanton idiocy shown by certain quarters who undermine others' efforts in the name of whatever.

there are many foreigners following this site as i've pointed out long before now, and some folks need to watch themselves because you cant come in here and claim to be representing or speaking for a particular group then start undermining the same people as if you're under a curse.

i ordinarily wouldnt bother with the type of arrant rubbish i'm seeing but it is getting too common and certain names keep popping up too frequently to be ignored.

the other day some of them got unexpectedly called out by their offline buddy who deliberately exposed them for reasons which should be obvious to anyone who knows how things roll nowadays.

i do not like it when people confirm bad stereotypes and especially when you say you carry dagger on behalf of your group [and who sent you message!!!!]

^Stop reading or responding to my posts, thank you.

Nothing personal, but you're starting to sound like a broken record and i have no idea why you keep replying my posts at random when i'm not doing the same to yours. As long as you've corrected your original errors from when you first joined the site, i think we're done.

Now, kindly stop catching feelings on behalf of some useless males or shemales here because this particular one is going to get even uglier than he is now.
Nairaland General › Re: Buzugee/Nairaland, So I Want To Talk About Living Abroad by tpia5: 12:24am On May 07, 2011
Seriously, is there no shame in some people's game?

When i talk now some people will say i have a problem.

Shouldnt we care about how we portray ourselves to the world because other tribes arent this careless and lost.

I know i do try to portray a positivee image for all and sundry, even backstabbing cretins who can sell their mothers for money, but i think people should occasionally recognize that and stop running thier mouths anyhow, because if i should start what nobody can finish, you'll all start catching feelings and saying tpiah is doing this and that.

Politics › Re: 15-year-old Naija Girl Is Harvard/ivy-bound by tpia5: 11:47pm On May 06, 2011
Things like this used to be the norm back in the day, in nigeria.

So while the girl's achievement is commendable, her parents need to be extra careful not to let the praise get to their heads because sometimes people are tricky.

There were a couple of thailand(i think) girls in the UK many years ago, who were hailed as math geniuses and child prodigies.

The last time i heard of them, they were p.rostitutes.

My point? Shine your eyes.

Not all that glitters is gold. I wish her well but folks shouldnt get carried away.

And yes, this kind of thing didnt use to be uncommon in nigeria. Black people being dumb is simply a myth which unfortunately many blacks are buying into, not to mention some have sold their souls for money.

^Big lie.

The picture was first posted by an latvian lady who said she was dating a nigerian.

Why she posted the photo i dont knowz- maybe to convince nlers of something? huh

On the offchance that's your wedding photo, then it should remain in your family album instead of the internet dont you think.

All these congolese.

The man is overjoyed he's marrying a white woman. Please let him be. Btw i doubt he's nigerian- on the unlikely chance he is, definitely not from my area but people from his LGA (wherever that is) know themselves i'm sure.

He looks like some other african country but he might possibly be nigerian perhaps? huh

The nigerian men are quite westernized and more in touch with their feminie side these days.
Lucky woman- hope my man cries like that at my wedding but for where. Aint gonna happen. To even get a man sef is a big problem.
Food › Re: How To Choose The Perfect Steak. by tpia5: 9:20pm On May 06, 2011
Look for a steak that has marbling. It is the thin threads of fat running through the meat that makes it Prime and gives it that incredible flavor
true.

in nigeria, the cow hump would be the equivalent cos it's considered a very tasty part of the meat.

i know that doesnt sound very fancy but carry on abi you don vex.

it was impossible not to fall in love with Jide
I moved in with Jide as his place was closer to my school.
Occasionally in the beginning, I noticed some traits I didn’t like.
At a point, I think I might have decided to turn a blind eye to the things I didn’t like, knowing that he loves me and he takes good care of me.
Now, I’m five months pregnant and we are getting married in a month time
alrighty then.

@ omolola

from what i've seen and know, the guy most times is the one who might change his mind after his parents have gotten used to the girl.

it could swing either way, as a matter of fact.

but if you're not comfortable meeting his parents yet, then maybe you should let him know.

just my opinion- you do what's best for you.

interesting how people assume you have to be religious in order to not play the field.

some men arent religious and still dont like or do such.
