The bottom line is that if he were a moslem sharing his story about how he left islam for christianity you will NEVER make that comment simple.
seriously, what part of "take everything with a grain of salt" do you and Todor not understand?

what's my business with whichever religion someone decides to leave or stay in? I dont take those kinds of internet postings that serious  and I suspect you're either confusing me with someone or wishing I was someone for reasons best known to you.

Am I clear, do you need it broken down further, or you prefer to wallow in your self deceit?

But on a serious note, its amazing to think that for over a 100 years, the democratic party was a southern party, and that it was the republicans who freed the slaves
thats showbiz for ya.

Only constant thing is change.
Literature › Re: Most Uninteresting Book You Have Read. by tpia5: 4:02am On Jul 02, 2009
I think Betty Neels was the first M & B book I ever read. The book ended with "and the teakettle bubbled away/merrily on the stove" or something. While the main characters did their thing upstairs. No details of course.

I was quite young then.

Sea surges could uproot millions in Nigeria megacity

LAGOS (Reuters) - Millions of people in Nigeria could be displaced by rising sea levels in the next half century, as ocean surges swamp some of Africa's most expensive real estate and its poorest slums, scientists say.

Africa's most populous nation, stretching from the southern fringe of the Sahara to the Gulf of Guinea, could come under triple attack from climate change as the desert encroaches on its northern pastures, rainfall erodes farmland in its eastern Niger Delta, and the Atlantic Ocean floods its southern coast.

"Lagos is a megacity with 15 million people, half of them at two meters (6 ft) above sea level, and that puts them at risk as hardly any other big city in the world,"

Scientists predict heavier rains and higher sea levels could wipe out much of Bayelsa, one of three main states in the Niger Delta, a vast network of mangrove creeks home to isolated villages and to Africa's biggest oil and gas industry.

Nigeria's oil industry increasingly is moving offshore and onshore installations in the delta's shallow swampland can be raised to protect them, meaning the impact on the sector would be limited. But villagers will be defenseless.

"We may lose quite a good percentage of Lagos ,  and probably the whole of Bayelsa," said Emmanuel Obot, executive director of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation.

"If that happens, the refugee problem will be so massive that I don't think Nigeria is ready," he said.

This is lagos, located by the sea, on the coastline of Africa, in a tropical country noted for perennial and heavy rainfall.

A low lying coastal area?

Most of Lagos is barely two meters above sea level btw.

but that Oshodi(?) road with the giant potholes should be patched sha.

Xtians just amaze me all the time!

nowhere did the bible state clearly that there was a world or a set of humans before adam. all that is pure conjecture
The leviathan described in Job is either some amphibious animal which is now extinct or is ur common crocodile. Job was a poetic book! the fire breathing blabla could have been poetic expressions and not meant to be taken literarilly. Like i can say of a face to face encounter with a lion " his eyes shone in the darkness from the fire that lay within" that doesnt mean the lion is some mammalian version of the firefly! And the leviathan didnt really fit the description of any dinasour I'm aware of
simmy:
@donnie
it is very inneficinet to chase conjecture in the face of simpler and more compelling evidence. i have nowhere claimed that i know what sort of animal the leviathan was but its 'more reasonable' to assume that it is the common crocodile. i can allow my imagination to run wild with other passages in the bible also and end up believing all sorts of trash
nothing wrong with either of your assumptions. You're free to believe leviathan is a crocodile or see it as symbolic language.

But there's no need for anyone to pick fights over it like some people always try to do with out of context quoting.

The Komodo dragon is the largest lizard alive- it looks and acts like a dragon too.

Culture › Re: Nigerians & Foreign Accents by tpia5: 3:04am On Jul 02, 2009
yeah, thats because oyinbo are lazy. they dont want to have to open their ears to someone that speaks differently than them. have you noticed the difference in service when you speak like them as opposed to speaking in your own naija accent? na prompt service o. the minute you blow naija accent for them, its like they switch off their brains, dem no dey hear you again. na so so "pardon?", "i'm sorry what did ya say?" blah blah. rubbish!
I dont know about that.  The main thing is to be able to communicate in English. As long as you can do so, you're not necessarily at a disadvantage and neither are the ones without an accent automatically ushered into a palace and fed all the goodies of life.
Culture › Re: Nigerians & Foreign Accents by tpia5: 3:00am On Jul 02, 2009
at least changing accent better sef. what about the ones that change their whole identity ? like changing the name your papa gave you. you go dey hear person wey dey bear jamiu from oshogbo go come yankee come change am to jamie or mutiu to mathew etc. i mean like WTF? if oyinbo can't pronounce your full name, then teach them
who is this person?

Arent mutiu and matthew both Semitic root words?
