MrsChima:
I have inlaws that are married to Yorubas (3) out of 8 and they tells me the men are very romantic and skilled with words.
are your in laws Igbo?

have several Yoruba friends...romance seems to be a desired passover with them...not sure if it is a tribal thing but it's noticeable.
in what way? huh

I think most Nigerian men are sweet talkers, as in while dating, but then, are other males not also the same way? huh

Nigerian men don't even do all the flower and chocolates stuff as much as non Nigerians.

Unless being very direct about romping in the hay is considered romantic.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Things Interviewers Say That Confirm You Won't Get An Offer by tpiadotcom: 4:33pm On Apr 27, 2015
it depends on what type of demographic they are looking for, or which demographic they want to reach.

it seems somewhere like google, for example, hires mostly younger, single and maybe nerdy/party loving types.

however, the movie I watched recently, showcased an employer who was looking for someone with a high debt profile, family oriented and mature.

so, it depends.

"The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice"

It's a line from Kendrick Lamar rap song "The blacker the berry"

Think it's a typo or he probably missed it
Its not a typo, its cultic language.

Travel › Re: Asaba And Warri: The Two Capitals Of Delta State by tpiadotcom: 7:00pm On Apr 26, 2015
ogb5:
The agitation for delta state did not start during the Babangida regime as postulated in this write-up.

The land procured at Osubi for the creation of the Delta state capital is still state government property till date.

Request for a Delta state, with a capital around Warri/ Effurun and Osubi axis was already in existence in the 70s.

The Itsekiri's opposed the the citing of the state capital at anywhere near Warri, fearing it will reduce the dominance of the Olu and also force them to lose land to the state.

And for correction, Babangida chose Asaba as state capital because his wife was from Asaba, that was the genesis of the bad blood towards Asaba. A place like Kwale would have been far better than Asaba as state capital.
Did he say his reason for choosing Asaba was because his wife was from there?

What's funny about it?

The lack of humour on these boards is actually a cause for concern.

So many dry jokes and unfunny anecdotes, one wonders what is going on.

Is humour a lost art?

your choices are yours, you dont really need anybody's opinion for your decisions insofar as you are not violating any ethical or moral codes.

.

All that matters to him(the older man) is that they have a beautiful/intelligent woman to call their own.
They would practically do your bidding.
this is rather insulting though, are you implying such older men lack sense despite being older? huh

their only reason for marrying someone would be because of beauty and cunningness of which the former can be found in practically anybody with a makeup kit? huh

Romance › Re: Why Are Ladies From Other Tribes Especially Ibos Like To Date/marry Yoruba Men? by tpiadotcom: 10:56pm On Apr 25, 2015
francizy:
There is this friend of mine that two of her sisters are married to Yoruba men. Now what do these guys see in the Igbo women? Ain't they scared that the Igbo women will help them get poor easily? Don't they feel like they may end up living in a parsimonious state just a few years after marriage? Or is it that these men are just naturally attracted to fair ladies? But if that is the case, then why do some still wanna date or marry the dark Igbo women? When you have answered all these questions then you may come to terms with the reasons why you guys like Igbo women.
don't say things you don't know because you saw just two Igbo people doing something and then you conclude all Igbo people do it.
isnt that what you just did only the other way round?

Another thing you must know is that Igbo women love Igbo men more and the stressing on the fact that Yoruba people are not restricted to marrying a particular tribe while other tribes are is just another myopic observation from someone else on this your thread. Igbos are free to marry other tribes as long as the man or woman in question is from a Christian home
in Igboland, your social status is closely linked to your marriage choices (for men).

It is very pronounced there, more than in the southwest.

stop trying to twist things plz.
