I've made friends with a few Nigerian guys on this website. They are handsome, intelligent, and caring. When I asked why they are single their reply all 5 of them was because Nigerian women expect money and I am just starting up in life. Maybe the Nigerian women could take this constructive criticism from your men and maybe change a little. We are the next generation let's do things differently.

A friend of mine blotted one statement when we were arguing on this same issue. She said she prays her daughters will not take her husband's dark colour. They should be fair so they can sell market.

I remember delta soap creating a calendar and all the women were light skinned. As a Nigerian child then, I did not even notice any conscious effort to have only light people on the calendar in a COUNTRY POPULATED BY DARK SKINNED PEOPLE . It was a marketing tactic to tell women that if you use delta soap your skin will be light. Mind you delta soap is not a bleaching agent, but it preyed on what the society considered as beautiful.

if there is constant pressure on blacks to lighten their skin, that should tell you there is not necessarily an overall preference for light skin.
