Jakumo:
Surely you must be referring to Calcutta, which certainly could be likened to Lagos on steroids.  There is NO location in the United States that even REMOTELY resembles Lagos in any way that I can discern.
your opinion which you're entitled to.

i have seen lakes in the US that remind me of lagos.

it doesnt follow that you've seen the same.

you might only be familiar with lagos slums, as i pointed out before.

the portuguese, who are also oyibos, named it lagos for a reason.
Politics › Re: Why Is America So Blessed? by tpiah: 4:28am On Oct 15, 2010
one thing you have to admire about america is the topography sha.

very impressive especially seeing all the lakes and so on.

kind of like lagos but on a much grander scale.

the parts of lagos crisscrossed by lagoons that is- not the slum areas which in any case are a relatively more recent thing.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Pride, Does It Exist? by tpiah: 4:26am On Oct 15, 2010
High school children (age group 13-18) are required to do 24 hours of community service each year, which amounts to about 2 hours per month. These kids clean public parks, stadiums, swimming pools, and help the elderly walk in the subway stations amongst other things.
this makes sense and should be emulated in nigeria.

isnt that how davidylan started the thread to fight spikedcylinder and now he's saying he was sleep typing.

i saw a website sometime ago which was devoted exclusively to eastern europeans searching for their nigerian or was it african fathers.

dont know if there's a similar one for other countries.

^^seriously, i'm telling you to watch yourself.

lord knows i try to be patient with you people but you're hellbent on working my last nerve.

i just try to bear with you all because of the nigerian factor and so people dont say i'm one of the ones always pulling other nigerians down without apology.

but really, some of you deserve it. Not to mention you do worse and are engaged in some of the ugliest things known to man.

so far on this site, i've had hackers trying to steal information on my computer, i've had one i.diot calling himself blacksta saying he's photographing me in my bathroom, another one called sauron who has my n.aked pictures which i sent him, etc etc.

dont think just because i act dumb, that i dont have a fairly good grasp of what's going on.

i'm telling you once more- watch yourself.

my last word to you on this matter.

Romance › Re: Give Me Beauty Or Get Out Of My Sight! by tpiah: 3:10pm On Oct 14, 2010
beauty is relative.

one size does not fit all even though it's true there are some universal standards of beauty

they developed wings of fat hanging from their arms and their skin was traced with silvery stretch-marks - attributes considered the height of feminine beauty in Mauritania.

But they . . . said they were trying to lose weight purely for health reasons, not because it would make them more attractive.

Dr Mougiya said he encounters the same attitude when he holds seminars trying to persuade obese women to slim down.

"They tell me that if they lose weight their husbands will leave them because everyone knows that in Mauritania men prefer a fat woman."

Ahmed is the eldest of three daughters and the only overweight one. Her 22- and 26-year-old sisters are no larger than a size 4. In America, they would be envied for their tiny waists, yet their mother sees them differently.

Asked which daughter is the prettiest, she waves her hand dismissively toward the model-thin sisters, saying, “Definitely those two are not beautiful.”

Her oldest daughter, like her, has garlands of fat on her belly and voluminous thighs.

“This one,” says the mother, “has the face of a queen.”

anyway, like i said, if you people are trying to open gate for kidnappers and bombers, then the state security services had better be on your trail or else. undecided

it's not that hard to track an ip if they really set their minds to it.

hiss.

correct your english- simple.

stop embarassing the whole country with your bullheadedness and savage nature.

this is why some of you are considered unteachable.

too vain, proud and boastful over nothing.

next thing we'll hear is " i can pay your salary" or some other such rubbish.

pick up a frigging book and teach yourself how to spell!

^^first time i'm hearing of the lady.

but i read the thread as well as the articles quoted here.

and watched the youtube video.

the girl can sing no doubt.

but it was rather risky going on national tv when her papers werent in order.

anyway, i'll be surprised if she's actually deported.

and the show organizers should vet people properly next time in order to avoid this type of publicity.

A real American tells the truth about America, a fake one, a Nigerian American tells lies about America
cant argue with that, really.

The land itself is fertile and ideally placed to produce agriculture. There is lots of water.
very true.

no ther country in the world would allow 12 million illegal immigrants to cross their border, with more jumping the fence every day , try this anywhere else and you will get hanged or shot on sight.
also true

The US is great because they use their science and technology to explore and invent, not cut roosters heads off, running around dressed in masquerades, governors bathing in babalawo leaves, rituals, not touch and follow.
gbam

1.the name united states of america adds up to 77 which is a very powerfull number (power and leadership usually associated with the combination of people and nations )and when you break it down it it equals 5 which is a blessed and lucky number in numerology.
2. when you calculate USA the shortened version of united states of america it =10 or 1 which is associated with leadership and rising to the top in all endervours.
3. they were born or had their independence on july 4th 1776 or 07/04/1776 which when you add them up again equals 32 or 5(7+4+1+7+7+6) which by the way has the same meaning as their name explained above. someone born to be powerful, succesful with leadership qualities to lead people or nations or combination of both. 1 and 5 are very powerful numbers in numerology and in this case for the usa their birth and name are both very powerful and lucky numbers so therefore you can see y their are very powerful
plain weird

I live in beautiful areas Always
lucky you.

The founding fathers were extremely smart people who left England to form a country they envisioned, a country that inherited the good qualities from England, and eviscerated the bad qualities.
heh

yeah, I Hate the White people here,

But, I'm NOT moving to Africa, either
that's a given

In Nigeria, we are largely religious with only a small % of those who can match their talk with their walk. If we uphold the law and do the right things in the eyes of God as a nation, God will lift us.
the problem with nigerians is they think you have to be strictly religious before you can be a normal good citizen? huh

whereas in the west this is not so.

WHEN WE GOT TO CHATTING
AND HE KNEW I HAD LIVED IN NIGERIA HE NEARLY POURED HIS HEART OUTEXPRESSING
ALL THE LONGING AND PAIN THAT HE WISHED HE HAD LIVED IN NIGERIA FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS
DURING HIS TEENS, HE IS A SUCCESSFUL BROKER BUT HE SOMEHOW FEELS
A PART OF HIM IS MISSING, THE TRUE IDENTITY AND EXPERIENCE OF BEING
NIGERIAN IN "CULTURE" AND NOT JUST IN "NAME"

DONT MIND ALL THOSE NIGERIANS THAT WERE BORN AND RAISED ABROAD WHEN THEY
SAY "THEY ARE BETTER OF CULTURALLY/MENTALLY BECOS THEY DID NOT LIVE AND SCHOOL
A COUPLE OF YEARS IN NIGERIA!
seems it's more a matter of perspective then.

you just mentioned two different examples but you favour the one who felt emotional about nigeria because you can relate to him better.

usually, people attach all sorts of horror stories to being born and raised exclusively abroad. Drugs, alternative lifestyles, jail, ne'er do well, disrespect for parents, etc etc.
