FamilyRe: How Many Ladies Can Act Like This Lady If They Catch Their Husbands Cheating? by tpiah11: 5:47pm On Oct 27, 2015
this is Jamaican culture, not Nigerian.

you folks should always state your point of reference when posting conjured scenarios.

in Jamaica, if a woman is dating someone, she will be physically attacked or killed by her competitors when they are interested in her man, or when the man cheats.

I was told this by a born and raised Jamaican.

DollyParton1:
I know what you were trying to pen down in your initial post. You just did not put it right.
Actually, his lack of male child means the throne has moved away from his own lineage for ever. A male child means, the throne might still come back to his lineage, in the 10 or more generations. It is a maybe tho.
The chance is very slim as most Yoruba thrones has many ruling houses who are entitled to the throne, and these ruling houses have couple of different royal families within them. Which keeps growing by the day.
you are confusing Yoruba culture with the western one or maybe the midwestern/northern one.

In Yorubaland, there is no rule which says a king must have, or be succeeded by a son. It can happen but it is not set in stone. Rather, the kingship is rotated among different royal families as you have seen here.

The king's daughter actually is the one who holds a very critical position, in the southwest.
CelebritiesRe: I Sold Pepper Soup To Raise Money For My School Fees - Annie Idibia by tpiah11: 5:32pm On Oct 27, 2015
I had no break time when I was in secondary school because I had to go to the market during breaks to buy pepper soup things from the market and put in the fridge for my mom to cook and sell in the evening. And after school I would assist her in selling
this doesnt describe underpriviledge.

But nowadays, ladies no go like fall their hand by doing what Annie did to survive. They only see her now with all the wealth and they either want to be like her or hate on her.
Every wealthy person didn't just become rich...they worked! lipsrsealed
tuface doesnt date, impregnate or marry women from underpriviledged (ie poor) homes.

if they are working, maybe in their family's business or with their family's connections.

I'm sure he saw many akara or groundnut sellers in Lagos, but he did not go near them.

Abomination. None of his ancestors had one wife.. .
how do you know none of his ancestors had one wife? huh That's an assumption with no evidence to support it.

the ancient Ife art shows a king with only one wife (interpret that however you like), so its not necessarily something never seen before.

Many of the Yorubas to the west who predate Ife, only have one wife.

My point is, it is not always set in stone.

ezeagu:
Where did they get this from? Nigeria, well, eastern Nigeria doesn't even have any slave castles.

The reason why many Jamaicans feel more connected to the Ghanians is not necessarily because of culture, or Nigerian evilness, but because of the living culture of the Maroons which they can still see and hear today, unlike Igbo culture which is hidden inside overall Jamaican culture. The other reason for the connection is because most Jamaicans think that they are mostly from Ghana because of 1. the popularity of the Maroons 2. because of the exaggeration of Ghanaians in European books and 3. because of Jamaican ignorance to the rest of the continent of Africa. An average Jamaican does not know that unu is a Igbo word, or obeah is Igbo spirituality or that akara is a Nigerian snack. Jamaicans even shout 'awoh', grin which just shows how ridiculous it is to feel more connected to Ghana, I mean, many Jamaicans look exactly like eastern Nigerians.
do they?

many of them look Ghanaian though.
