Op, your wife is clearly the problem here and you're to be blamed for that, i understand you love both women, but at the same time you ought to let your wife know she can't disrespect your mum. You didn't handle the situation well from the start, that was why she took it this far.

We all know how grandparents are with their grandchildren, talk more of your son being the first grandchild, that woman only wants to be a part of the family and wants to be happy.

Explain to mum that you love her and of course you ain't stopping her from showing love to her grandson.
