A video of residents of Ebonyi state hailing and celebrating unknown gunmen has been shared online.
Despite the Killings carried out by the gunmen in the South East, many people were seen in the video cerebrating the gunmen as they announce sit-at-home.
The gunmen who were seen in masks, announced tomorrow, 5th and 6th May as sit-at-home. The action is aimed at boycotting President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Ebonyi state.
It was gathered that the campaign took place at the popular Aba market today, May 4. However, the unknown gunmen escaped before the arrival of security operatives.
All Progressive Congress APC Chieftain, Chief Frank Sunday Oputu was shot dead after unknown gunmen invaded his residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
It was gathered that Frank-Oputu had served as the State Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP).
Sources told salemgists that the deceased was shot dead through his window by yet-to-be identified gunmen while he was sleeping.
Details of the incident sketchy but the ugly development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Bustwat.
According to him, details of the incident will be made available to journalists in due time.
Ondo state majority leader Honourable Ogunmolasuyi AKA West was chased away by his constituents.
It was gathered that he was chased away from Owo town by his constituents who alleged that his performance in the state house of assembly was very poor.
12 persons have been killed by herdsmen who invaded Tse Ibe, Tse Katsa, Tse Melayongu and Mbaakpam in Mbapa Council Ward as well as Tse Agungu Unger in Mbabuande Council Ward all of Gwer West Local Governmenr Area of Benue.
A source who is an indigene of the area told salemgists that he narrowly escaped with his life. He added that nine persons were killed in Mbapa Council Ward while three others were murdered in Mbabuande Council Ward of the LGA.
He said he lost his elder brother in the attack, the armed herdsmen stormed Tse Ibe village on motorcycles at about 4pm on Thursday.
He added:
“They commenced the attack killing only men while asking women to escape with children. They later moved in convey to Kyande settlement area where they continued with the attack. I was lucky to have escaped with a motorcycle from the community.”
Confirming the attack, the Chairman of Gwer West LGA, Mrs. Grace Igbabon said the Divisional Police Office, DPO, in charge of Naka and other security agencies had moved to the affected communities to ascertain the level of the attack.
She said:
“But my security secretary whose maternal home was affected in the attack told me that some of the recovered bodies were badly mutilated by the attackers and the people were making arrangement to have them buried. But I am waiting for the DPO to return from the said affected areas before I can make a formal or informed statement.”
A Catholic priest identified as Fr Kenan Chibawe has committed suicide after receiving a strange telephone call in Southern Province, Zambia.
Salemgists gathered that the reverend father who was 51-year-old allegedly shot himself, acting Southern Province police commanding officer Alfred Nawa confirmed.
He said:
“At around 11:00 hours police in Namwala received information that at Catholic Parish house in Namwala in which a male Patrick Kambombi aged 41 of Namwala Catholic Parish and also a Father at Namwala Catholic Parish, reported that male Kenan Chibawe Musende aged 51 a Catholic priest of Namwala parish shot himself using a shotgun and died on the spot.This occurred today on 21st April 2022 at 10:20 hours at Namwala Catholic parish house.”
“Brief facts of the matter are that the reporter held a meeting with the deceased Kenan Chibawe Musende and four others to review how the Easter holiday which was held. During the meeting the deceased received a phone call from unknown source of which he excused himself to his room within the building.Then after 20 minutes the reporter heard a gun shot and when they rushed to the room they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood along side a shot gun.”
Nawa said police visited the scene and confirmed that the deceased pointed the gun on the chin and the entire head was blown.
He added:
“A shotgun Brendah Bresecia by make was retrieved about a metre from the deceased body. The said body is lying at Namwala Hospital mortuary awaiting further dealings.“
A 28-years-old kenyan born young athlete identified as Damaris Mutua Muthee is found murdered in a house in Iten Nandi county.
According to police reports, Damaris who had been a star in Barharine was allegedly been killed on Saturday by her Ethiopian boyfriend who is also an athlete before fleeing to Ethiopia on Sunday.
Before he took off, the suspect jokingly made a phone call informing his Ethiopian friend who was busy training in the field that he has killed Damaris and later switched off his phone.
A day later, on learning about the incident, his Ethiopian counterpart reported to police who responded and began investigations.
The Police are looking for her boyfriend while her body has been taken to the nearby hospital mortuary.
The gun battle between security men of the Joint Task Force and unknown gunmen in Imo state led to the death of many people.

As at the time of this report, the actual number of casualties could not be ascertained but it was gathered from a source that Orlu Local Government Area experienced unrest through out yesterday, April 17.
The source told salemgists that the shooting started from Banana junction and then extended to the popular Nkwu-Ito Junction and its environs.
He said Vehicular movements were restricted while vehicles and other property were reportedly affected as the unknown gunmen shot sporadically before the security operatives challenged them.
A soldier serving in Yobe state was caught in Imo state with his other two gang members over kidnaping.
It was gathered that the suspects were caught with military uniforms and they were fully armed with Ak-47 riffle.
During interrogation, the soldier said he is from Abia state and he is currently serving in Yobe state. The other two suspects confessed that they were from Imo state.
A Cameroonian woman gave birth to a baby at internally displaced persons IDP camp but decided to dig the ground and bury the baby.
It was gathered that the woman who is displaced by the Anglophone Crisis buried her child in Banekane, a neighborhood in Bangante in Cameroon’s West region.
The baby was rescued after the kid was found buried under a tree not far from where her mother resides.
Salemgists gathered from an eyewitness that during the night of Friday 8 to Saturday 9 April, around 2 a.m., the lady sneaked out of home to an uncultivated field to put to birth. After giving birth without any assistance, the lady in question proceeded to burying the newborn, before cleaning up herself and returning home.
The eyewitness said she did this without the knowledge of her husband she left at home sleeping with their other kids.
He said:
“For all of the following day, Saturday, the act went unnoticed. It was only until 48 hours later that a neighbor’s attention was drawn by cries of a wailing baby”
The kid was discovered with one of her hands and legs hanging out of the grave.
How she managed to survive however, remains a mystery. Her husband on his part, is said to have questioned her given that he had suspected she was pregnant some time back, from her bulging belly.
The 33-year-old lady at first refused, but later confessed and narrated the entire act, following threats from her man.
The lady in question is reported to have narrated that she was ashamed to have another baby when the one she was carrying was barely a year old.
The mother of three was spared by a mob that turned up at the scene and is currently nursing her newborn baby in hospital.
Two Reverend Sisters whose names are not yet disclosed burnt to death in a road crash in Anambra state.
It was gathered that the two reverend sisters burnt to ashes alongside their driver, a man and his wife.
He tragic incident reportedly occured after their vehicles crashed at the Nawfia axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Anambra state.
It was learnt that the Reverend Sisters, Principal and Bursar of Handmaid’s Secondary School, Amansea, Awka North LGA, and their driver, were traveling to Amansea in a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to the school, and were coming from Ifite-Ogwari, Ayamelum LGA, where they went to purchase bags of rice for the school.
Other victims in a Toyota Highlander were identified as Mr Emmanuel Okeke, former Anambra State Government Storekeeper, and the wife, Salemgists learnt
Confirming the ugly development, Mr Ifeanacho Okeke, the brother to Emmanuel said he spoke with him around 5pm yesterday, but he learnt that his line and that of his wife were not connecting around 9pm. This made him to began a search for them, leading to the sad discovery early this morning.
An eyewitness, Mr. Chinecherem Okonkwo from Nawfia, said he arrived the accident scene yesterday night during light rainfall when the vehicles were still burning, but it was late for any meaningful help.
Family and friends of a young man identified as Isaac Chukwu AKA Ochudo have taken to social media to mourn him after he was killed by unknown men in Ebonyi state.
Salemgists gathered from a source closed to the deceased that he was killed just few days away from his wedding.
The source who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that Ochudo was killed just 9 days to his wedding, adding that he was making serious arrangements for the wedding before the incident happened.
Details of the incident is still sketchy but salemgists learnt that Ochudo was about to close from his shop when the gunmen attacked and killed him at the spot.
A brother to the deceased said Ochudo who is from Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State he was killed by suspected assassins.
He said:
“He owned two shops, one in the street where he sold provision and the next one at the international market, Abakaliki. He was assassinated in one of his shops at night after he had closed at night. He and his wife to be had locked their shop only for him to enter inside his car, some unidentified men on the bike rushed and shot him twice.”
