I read with a very sad heart what was written above. the way souls are being condemned to eternal torture by the same God that Christians claim loves soul so dearly and this is where we differ. ECKANKAR teaches that God loves soul dearly that it gives soul total freedom to live it life at it deems fit. soul came from heaven to earth to learn how to love and to reach spiritual maturity after which soul goes back to heaven where it came from. no one is hell bound.

God has given each soul perfect freedom of choice to choose when it wants to come back home. there is no compulsion, there is no threat and there are millions of chances and opportunities which are of course endless. soul is also very free even not to believe in the existence of God. it really does not matter to God.

My friend, the position of eckankar really sounds soothing. Unfortunately, The person God publicly and severally declared to be his beloved son in whom he is well pleased and whom we must hear and follow is Christ Jesus not eckankar. So you see following or believing anything Christ did not practise or approve even if solomon or anybody for that matter practiced it is wrong.

So if for all intents and purposes, you are now an atheist, it is sad but true that you are not walking in faith as such unless you return God, am afraid you are not presently heaven bound.
1 Tim 2:19 says "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the lord knoweth those that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of God depart from iniquity."
So you see the grace of God that saves us actually saves us to good works.

Again I put it to you my dear friend that until you approach God in faith, you will continue to misd him because the physical can only connect to the spiritual through faith.
Also, you need to know that God is not responsible for your choices and the choices you are making today determinants of your fate in eternity. If only you were approaching God in faith, you would have understood long ago that what he requires of you is nothing beyond you really, just faith (Rom 10:3,4,8-10)
Finally, am not a christian because I chose to ignore my doubts. I am a christian because when I brought my doubts under the scrutiny of the light of God's word, they vanished. I looked for them but didn't find them.

The fact is that u have chosen to believe that the bible makes sense to u, note the word CHOSEN. U fail u accept that a whole lot of pple whole have different upbringing(cultural, parental style, friends etc) and different biological make up might not find is sensible.

Do u think u are wiser than the God u worship? Wasn't the one who (according to u) created everybody? Didn't he know this will b the outcome of his creation? Isn't he the one who gave all the atheist brains to reason as they do? U mean to tell me tht God xpected everyone to think like u? What if at the end God tells u that he is proud of atheists because the used their God diven brain and u chose not to?

Just the story of adam and eve is filled with contractidtions yet u find nothing wrong wit d bible and expect others not to. The same bible u claim to believe in has different interpritations(this is evident in the number of churches or even here on nairaland- frosbel believes in hell others don't).

What exactly do u want from pple? What have u don to make pple follow u? Does u religion make u supernatural? U claim to be spiritual, yet u fall seek, u read to pass exam, u hustle to make money, u lose loved ones to death and cry like any other person.

Now to the point, By training am a core scientist and very widely read. My training predisposes me to ask questions and question answers until I arrive at questions that are unanswerrable and answers that are unquestionable. However, God helped me. I realized years ago that science as wonderful as it is has its limitations. There are plenty phenomena it hasn't been able to evidentially explain. There are several theories or positions it held few years ago which in the light of newer discoveries no longer hold. What's more, it can only investigate the natural, physical world. Nothing more! It has created absolutely nothing. All true scientist and science itself are bewildered by science's discoveries some of which were actually mistakes.
There is hardly any atheistic position I haven't read, understood and found credible and completely satisfactory answers to from the word of God. And I tell you the truth, anybody could find this answers satisfactory as well except that they are beyond science and logic. They are spiritual.
"My thoughts are completely different from yours," says the lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."

If we must find God, his terms is that we must come in faith for faith is what connects the physical to the spiritual. That was how those who walked before us obtained God's approval and until we have faith, we will never be able to trully understand (Heb 11:2-3)

The bible contains the word of God. It has the letter and also the spirit. The letter kills, it is the spirit that gives life(2 Cor3:6)

I have noticed however that you don't read and understand posts before you reply to them. Take your time, read over and over again until you understand then respond. Remember, it is not all about winning an arguement, what's at stake is actually the eternal destiny of your soul.
Am happy that all informed atheists are in agreement on the one fact that all bible stories could be traced and proven to have happened in history. In Numbers 21, God was leading Isreal out of Egypt, In the wilderness the people spoke against God and his servant. God sent fiery serpents among the people so that much of them died. When they confessed thier sins, God forgave them and provided for them a way out. God's solution was for Moses to make a fiery serpent and put on a pole. If a serpent bit anyone afterwards AND HE LOOKED UP TO THE POLE, he survived. Now that's beyond logic or illogical as you will prefer to put it. But it was God's method nonetheless. If anyone chose not to look up after being bitten by a snake probably because the solution was 'simplistic', he died.
God in his characteristic way has made Jesus the answer to all of man need. All he requires you to do is believe. He won't come down from heaven neither will he release someone from hell. In fact you might not get the privilede of a "damascus road experience". But believing leads to life and not believing leads to death. The ball is in your court.

I perfectly understood you. I just needed you to understand also that the source and foundation for faith in God and disbelief in every other gods is perculiar to me and others like me which means my faith in God cannot and should not be likened to someone's disbelief in God.

There is something God has given you that nobody can take away from you; It is the power to choose. That's why you can choose to insult God and the sky over your head will not necessarily fall on you.

You remind me of those when we beginners in mathematics. Everytime we attempted a mathematical problem and arrived at answers which differed from those provided at the back of the textbook. We just concluded the authors had to be wrong. But overtime as our understanding deepened, we found that we and not the authors were wrong.

The term inbreeding is not contained anywhere in the bible from Genesis to Revelations. It is only a scientific term which means breeding within a small group so if the unlimited God of all the earth chose to give adam and eve children via inbreeding, how is that our business?

Well I don't seem to see any problematic question with the begining of the bible. John 1:1 says, "In the begining was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." In Psalms 119:89, the bible says, "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven."
So where is the problem?

Logicboy, I don't have any need to convince myself about the existence of God. It is a truth I have stopped arguing with and I need you to understand that the bible adequately answers all your arguements. I won't be a Christian if I didn't find the answers I sought.
