If like most people in their 30s you've worked in a number of places, can you kindly drop the name of the organisation you enjoyed working for the most and why so. As for me, i've always been a private enterprise guy and even though am not so enjoying it right now, am sticking around. Whats yours?

Family / Re: Divorced, What Could I Have Done Different. by traeces(m): 9:43pm On Mar 31, 2012
Well, am happily married by the grace of God and pray, hope and work towards staying so. However, in every divorce scenario, there are atleast 2 culprits. The man and the woman. There's always something we can do and even when all else fails, we can still pray.
Family / Re: Mother's Day : Drop A Message For Your Mother by traeces(m): 6:45pm On Mar 18, 2012
How do I begin to appreciate the one woman who gave everything in other for her children to be all they ever wanted to be? It is cliché for people to refer to their mothers as one in a million but am positive there isn’t a single mother living or dead who compares to you. Many times I ask God what I ever did to deserve you and then he tells me the most precious things in life are not earned- I could never have earned you.
Thanks to your resilience and doggedness even though dad wasn’t able to materially support you well enough, me and my siblings attended and are attending some of the best schools around.
You pointed us to God-I would personally have been a lost soul were it not for that sentence you made to me that day in Nov., 98 which drove me to God.
Your patience with me even when I have lost patience with myself is the greatest expression of love there could ever be.
Mama, Thanks for been my mum and even though I realise you are never ever going to read this as you don’t read, I need everyone to know that if I had to choose a mother one million times over, it still would have been you. I love you Mama.
My only prayer is that God preserves you until such a time when you have satisfactorily enjoyed the fruit of your labours.
Religion / Re: What Exactly Is The True Gospel ? by traeces(m): 5:55pm On Mar 01, 2012
Man sinned and fell short of the glory of God (ROM 3:23). God sent Jesus christ to reconcile man back to himself and to man's original position and place giving him hope for eternal life (JN3:3,16). That pretty much summarizes the gospel
Religion / Re: What People Need To Know About Tb Joshua And His Ministry by traeces(m): 5:16pm On Mar 01, 2012
Jesus himself stated clearly in scriptures for his followers not to be carried away by even his own signs.(Jn.1:50). Also the bible variously foretell the appearance of false prophets in the last days who will so demonstrate power and wonders that even the very elect will be at risk.(MATT 24:4,5,24). Since the eternal destiny of our souls is what is at stake here, we must be diligent enough to study the bible for ourselves and know what God requires so that we can look out for the kind of fruits these men's lives bear and not their giftings. This is because fruits are an excellent pointer to the nature, species and kind of a tree whereas gifts are gifts irrespective of the person bearing it and could derive thier origin from either God or the devil. We must be careful as things are not always as they seem.
Politics / What Are Your Prayers For Nigeria? by traeces(m): 4:47pm On Feb 17, 2012
We live in days and times when the much that ordinary Nigerians can do for and about Nigeria is pray since no one pays attention to our dilemmas, desires, demands, plights, miseries and protests.
So what are your prayers for and about Nigeria? As for me, I pray;
That Nigeria will be great again.
That our thieving leaders at all levels, past and present be brought to book.
That our leaders be insightful, courageous and resourceful enough to provide good governance.
That our electoral processes be systematically reformed such that our every vote counts.
[s]Sometimes i pray for the military to take over government.[/s]

Politics / An Open Letter To The President of Nigeria On Revamping The Economy by traeces(m): 9:16pm On Feb 12, 2012
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA (ORIGINALLY INTENDED FOR GOODLUCK JONATHAN) ON REVAMPING THE ECONOMY

Mr President Sir, in the hope that in spite of the widespread criticisms against your government and policies in recent times, you mean well for this nation, I write to make a candid contribution which I strongly opine that if implemented properly will translate to a real economic boom for this nation.
It is public knowledge that the economic base of all the developed economies which we as a nation constantly look up to and try to emulate is built on the private ownership of the means of production which is the only viable approach to efficient production of goods and services, economic growth and development. The government almost always never runs businesses as government has never proven anywhere in the world to be a good manager of business. On the contrary, governments focus on the task of providing infrastructural facilities such as railways, roads, bridges, water, electricity, port facilities and formulating business enabling laws and policies. Consequently such nations in the process of time become favourite destinations for international investments whether these investments are solicited or not.
I believe it was this realisation that made previous governments to privatize government stakes in businesses in Nigeria which process unfortunately was marred with so much controversies, scandals and corrupt practices. Some of the businesses that have been privatised overtime include; Daily times of Nigeria plc, The Electricity Metre Company of Nigeria, Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria, The Federal Superphosphate Fertilizer Company Limited, The Nigerian Paper Mill Jebba, The Zuma Steel Rolling Mills Jos, etc to mention but a few. Sadly, all of the above mentioned companies have either collapsed completely or are near complete collapse. I make bold to say that the only thing that all the past privatisation efforts of Nigeria has achieved has been widening the gap between the rich and the poor.
It is with this background in perspective that I hereby propose what I believe can be a fail-proof, people-oriented and revolutionary ownership transfer policy. The government in order to revive our ailing industries should expose these industries beginning with Ajaokuta Steel Mill to competition by bringing in private ownership and management. Unlike previous efforts however, these industries should not be sold but transferred to a representative sample of the citizenry, particularly the youth population. The equities of the industry whose ownership is to be transferred should be divided equally among say one million Nigerian youths drawn impartially from every council ward in the 774 local Government areas of Nigeria. In order to qualify for these selective ownership, each of these prospective shareholders should be required to contribute One hundred thousand naira (N100, 000.00) which money when pooled together adds up to one hundred billion naira (N100, 000,000,000.00) and becomes the capitalisation with which this new ownership turns around the fortunes of the company and by extension the economy of Nigeria.
Even though this plan at a glance currently appears simplistic, its gray areas can however be structurally fine-tuned such that when the plan is transparently and efficiently implemented, it will not only put Nigeria in the limelight for once for the right reasons but will leave a legacy for your government on the sands of time by which your government will be judged and evaluated for generations to come. Interestingly, I foresee other nations borrowing a leaf from us when this policy eventually begins to produce the results it is wired to produce.

Modified on 23rd March, 2018:

Natasha Akpoti in the video below suggested crowdfunding to the house of reps as an alternative source of funding for revamping Ajaokuta steel mills largely re-echoeing my boldened opinion from 6 years ago.

Business / Re: Frequently Asked Questions: A-Z Of Company Registration In Nigeria by traeces(m): 8:44pm On Feb 12, 2012
Lawyer you sure are doing a great job here especially in these days when it is out rightly difficult in this country to find people who are even marginally proficient in their certified areas of profession. That's why am so very impressed with you.
I have a question sir, I started this business which i registered in 2003 as a business name while a student. Today, it has grown and am seriously considering incorporating it as a limited liability entity but must i give out my equity just like that since i don't to just bring on someone just like that.
