You're just a hypocrite as are most NL men. It's not your type I blame, it's the women who stick with the broke ass men that I blame because trying to please a Nigerian man is like filling a basket with water..... pointless. You're giving excuses specifically as to why men leave not just their girlfriends but girlfriends who were their backbone financially when they were broke. Why is it when the men become rich that they know the ladies are low in financial and emotional IQ? So they didn't know before? And if a woman leaves a man for a rich man she's a gold digger right? But when aan does same it's the woman's fault? jezuzboi: That's unconditional love you're talking about, not emotional love. But we are humans and we struggle to love ourselves unconditionally like God loves us. Knowing this, we should always try to help ourselves love ourselves. Like my Mummy G.O would say to ladies, "if the man is the BREADWINNER, you should be the "AKARA WINNER" |

It is absolutely not possible that every single player in that team understands yoruba. I get your point but he general instructions in yoruba. It is not possible that they all understand it. naturalwaves: A non Yoruba player might be with the ball and still understand Yoruba perfectly even way more than English. An Igbo guy born and bred in Lagos with little or no much schooling will understand Yoruba and Nigerian pidgin way more than English.........if he spoke with a non- Yoruba guy in Yoruba language, then, he must really know that such player understands perfectly. |

You're right no doubt and that is only true when that particular player he spoke to understands yoruba. But like I said earlier, a non-yoruba player was with the ball when the coach gave an instruction so how can communication be effective in that instance. naturalwaves: I do not agree wit this. It depends on the content of the instruction. In football, it can be of 2 types; group specific instruction or player specific instruction. If the instruction is player specific, an instructor or any member of the coaching crew can communicate in any language he feels the recipient will understand it most and sink it well. If the instruction is group specific, it can be communicated in the lingual franca for uniformity. The fact that someone speaks a local dialect therefore should not be a problem.
I heard someone(a member of the coaching crew) speak in Yoruba to Olusegun, telling him "you do not need all those thngs you are doing". He said " o needi gbogbo iyen". I guess the message was for him to be more focused, calm and sharp in front of goal. In 2007, it was a delight to see some of our players communicate in Nigerian Pidgin. |
