She might have done what she did to draw attention to herself . I believe she knew before hand the footballer"s past history with injuries or knew he was already nursing some injuries and would be playing despite that with some pain killers. Sports men are known for doing that all the time if their participation is vital for the team success.. But it's very risky as the injury can become worse due to the intensity of event.
And so, with that information that she had, I believe she decided to gamble and win some attention for herself by pretending to be the one responsible for what she anticipated might occur during the game.

If you truly choose love then you do what God says, you give, you care. If you are not afraid of the consequences for wickedness of your own actions can you truly say you care or you love, even if it's not some punishment, but the consequences of, if I don't treat this person they will suffer and die, if I don't give this meal, they will be hungry, if I steal this money some will be in pain.

The psychological phenomenon which you indirectly referred to is called group think. There's no malevolent spirit behind it. . The mind is the cause.
Everyone is susceptible to group think. And religious people, contrary to what you think and want others to believe, are the ones mostly affected by it.
Anyone who strongly identifies with a group, religious or nonreligious , is automatically drawn into the group consciousness which then influences one's behaviour at the unconscious level ,making one to think ,say and do things in alignment with the group beliefs and aspirations. The consequences are the reduction of the individual's critical faculty and loss of personal identity which is submerged under the group's identity.
So don't celebrate yet because what you have identified in others is equally affecting you, if not worse. You reason like your peers and act like them without being fully conscious of it.
