jaephoenix:The same Oxygen ,but no more in its primary form ,gas which is colourless and not seen. That's the difference . The same thing like water and ice |
Aemmyjah:. O boy,Please don't include me in your argument with others. I only responded to what you asked about oxygen and it wasn't meant to criticize you in any way. So I don't understand why you're now responding this way. It appears you're mistaking me for another person. Check very well. This is triplechoice. Ok. Please tell me what I don't know about oxygen? |
Aemmyjah:I don't understand why you're asking me this? Oxygen in the atmosphere is not visible to the human eyes. What's seen as blue Oxygen is only found in a places of abnormal temperature and pressures. |
jaephoenix:The truth is that Oxygen is colourless. What we see as blue Oxygen is only found in abnormal temperature and pressures. It's like water. It's colourless but as solid Ice we can describe it as white. Oxygen in the atmosphere is never seen because it's colourless. |
Aemmyjah:You misunderstood me. You're correct that Oxygen is gas and I affirmed that. |
jaephoenix:Oxygen is gas. The other forms of oxygen you have mentioned is due to certain conditions acting on it to turn it into either solid or liquid. |
Aemmyjah:You're correct to say oxygen is gas,but it can be solidified and liquefied and when that happens you see it. |
jaephoenix:I haven't disputed evolution nor accepted creationism as credible . I only expressed my opinion about what I think is the cause why some persons here assume wrongly about others. I said they don't know enough but think they do about the next person before passing judgement. That is cognitive bias. And also that the habit of labelling others as this or that is a lazy way of winning an argument. Both the theist and atheist are guilty of all of these. |
Wilgrea7:@ the bolded ,atheists, (not all of them),also assume they know what every non atheist should believe or what every religion in the world teaches,,and it's "pitifully embarrassing" too seeing them passing wrong judgement on others who don't share in their non belief or challenges them on something they have said. To them, if you reject or question evolution theory then you're a gullible theist who believes in creationism . In my opinion, the behaviour is fueled both by cognitive bias and the desperation to win an argument using under hand tactics. If it's the later, then no amount of education can stop the person. It's the lazy man's method of winning an argument without much sweat. You will observe that those who label you a believer in evolution theory do so by highlighting its limitations while ignoring what has been proven to be true about it in order to dismiss it as mere theory and then call you ignorant and stupid for subscribing to it It's the same treatment they have received from atheist who question their sanity for accepting creationism is what they want to revenge. I have experienced the worst from some atheist here who are very quick to assume that anyone challenging them or saying something in support of what they rejected must have done so because they believe in a God. The education should be for everyone, me included. Don't be so quick to assume about the next person or about anything else until you can be sure to some extent. If you do ,it shows you're not thinking but just reacting based on what your learning or past experience have taught you. We haven't experienced it all or learnt everything. BTW your definition for atheism is incomplete. An atheist is not only the person who doesn't believe in a God but who also don't subscribe to the supernatural Any atheist subscribing to the supernatural is confused in my opinion. |
Zionmdde:. But no evidence the pastor has said any of the above about mixing it with your faith before it can work. Instead he has made his followers believe that he has infused it with his own faith by praying over it. So, if it doesn't work, he should be held responsible. It's his own faith which cannot be "ascertain" he is selling to the public, and that's why it's fraud. If it's the individual's faith, then he should simply direct his members to pray over any drinkable water and use it. So if a pastor said if you give you will receive a thousand folds and you give and nothing happens, will you will sue him for deception? Please direct this question to those foolish enough to hand over their money to a pastor for it to be doubled. Even hospitals are not sued when patients die after assurance of treatmentHospitals don't give assurance of treatment that cannot fail. Hospitals aren't offering magical or supernatural cures that's not expected to fail. And they aren't sued because everyone understands from past experiences that there are no guarantee treatment anywhere that cannot fail sometimes . When treatment fails there's usually an explanation why it has failed which we all accept, and because of that no hospital or doctor is sued. Negligence is what can lead to suing. Please to use what I explained above to support the pastor. Faith healing is not the same as orthodox medicine used in hospitals. The former has to do with God and not infallible humans. |
Quest7777:The crime he committed is this, The soap was taken by the pastor to Nafdac for approval for sale to the public ,without him declaring it as cure for anything. But after securing the approval , he started marketing it in his church as a miraculous soap with nafdac approval on it If this is not criminal behaviour, then please tell me what eise it's? |
Zionmdde:You don't understand how Nafdac operate or what they do. The certification given to the miracle water by them is to assure the public that the water is safe for consumption (u fit drink ham, e nor go Purge ur belly) and not that it can cure any anything. That's all. But the pastor, unfortunately, s telling his members that it can cure them . That's the fraud and deception. |
Zionmdde:If it's foolishness, then why encouraging others to be foolish? The man whom you're defending is not being honest about the product he is selling to his members and the general public. He doesn't want to tell the truth that the product can only give hope and not any real cure . That's deception and you are here defending him. There's a reason doctors offer hope to their patients. It's to aid the healing process which has been triggered by the treatment they are about to give or have given to their patients. The pastor is only offering hope in the form of ordinary water, labeled miracle water to deceive, and nothing else as cure. |
Zionmdde:@ the bolded , you're encouraging others to gamble with their lives. "at least 5 from 100" doesn't prove the efficacy of the so called miracle water. if your child is down with a severe bout of malaria and typhoid, would you because of what you have argued administer the miracle water or use orthodox medicine that can effectively do the job without any kind of faith ? |
babasolution:There's no objectivity in your submission here and that's why you have put the word, " contributes" in quotes . If it's "probably being manipulated" according to you, then the religion is not to be blamed but the "certain groups" involved in the manipulation. You can't present this line of argument in a law court and expect any judge to rule in your favour. Provide evidence from what the religion actually teaches to prove it discourages its members from pursuing Western education. That's all Any other thing is your own personal opinion. I'm not defending Islam as a Muslim. I'm not one of them but only trying to focus on what I know is true about the religion. It doesn't discourage anyone from going to school or investing in it. |
babasolution:Not true that religion or Arabic religion is the cause for the lack of interest and investment in Western education in "black countries " There's no religious text where it's written that people shouldn't acquire Western education or invest in it Those who aren't investing in it are doing so for a reason : They're afraid of losing the control which they have over the very poor and uneducated masses who they manipulate for their own selfish ends. it's very easy for religious leaders armed with a wrong interpretation of scripture to convince their uneducated followers, who don't know the value of education or have the means to acquire it ,to abandon the idea of going to school. That's what's happening within the Boko Haram sects and others like them. In Christianity, the Jehovah witnesses leadership are discouraging their members from acquiring higher education . But it's mostly the poor members who take the advice seriously . In Islam, wealthy Muslims or those who can afford it don't discourage their children from acquiring western education because they know that nothing in the Koran bars them from sending their children to such schools.. Mind you logical ,analytical, and strategic thinking doesn't have to be from Western education.I haven't said it must be from Western education. I only gave an example of what can be done here for progress to happen. But if your mind isn't beclouded by religious inclined thinking ( superstition) it can also produce good resultsFreeing one's mind from superstitious beliefs is not an easy task if one hasn't acquired the critical faculty skills needed to do so. So, what you're saying here is hardly possible if people don't learn first what it means to think and how to think very well. |
Somebody once said that,"If you want to put out a fire , you don't blow at the smoke". Provision of good quality education for the masses and the reduction of poverty in Africa is what will lead to progress and not just the eradication or banning of religion. Europe didn't ban religion before they started making progress. What they did was to focus their attention on providing good quality education for their citizens to help them develop their critical faculty skills so they are able to use their brains the right and not submit it to religious leaders for manipulation. That was what they did. African leaders should emulate them if we want to make progress If you eliminate religion and don't educate the people nothing will change . |
Tightpussy2024:Ok. But the topic is not mine. I'm not the creator of the thread. |
Tightpussy2024:Don't look at the title of the thread alone to pass judgment. Read the full article first through the link shared before you react. It's not demanding that women marry poor men or date them, but highlighting the major reason why some or most married women can't tolerate poverty or temporary hardship in their marriages but can do so with their parents. |
1Sharon:If the husband becomes very wealthy a year after you left, what would you do? |
Augustine2244:You should have read the full article in the link. The op is not encouraging women to marry poor men, but highlighting the major reason why a lot of women from this part of the world can easily tolerate poverty with their parents, but find it very difficult to bear temporary hardship with their own husbands and offer any kind of support to help them bounce back from it. Women are known to support their parents wholeheartedly no matter the situation, but when it comes to their own husbands it becomes a boring job . Why? That's the question . According to the op,societal programming which makes some women see their husbands as the sole provider in the family is the cause. For me, those who have been programmed that way are the ones who would easily abandon their marriages during such difficult times ,but would want to return immediately after when things have turn around for the good for the man. Such behaviour should not be encouraged . |
Na wah. Nobody wants to read the full article in the link before reacting to the thread. |
OldBeer:You can't be sure about somebody you know nothing about. |
Newwavetech04:The Op will certainly ignore the news of our girls , D, Tigress, triumphing over the australians , his white gods, because it doesn't agree with the falsehood he is ignorantly trying to push here. I always consider Africans who hate on their own race as very stupid and ignorant. There's no scientific evidence anywhere that supports the foolish talk that blacks are born mentally inferior to the whites , or that they're cursed. |
Afonjah:1. Bring your proof that it was grown men over boys and FIFA disqualified them for cheating or shut up. .2 . The Brazilian team we defeated was made up players of Portuguese and African descents. In fact most of the team members were Caucasians. Or are Portuguese not white? 3. The Spanish team was mostly made up players from real Madrid and Barcelona and was one of the most feared team before that tournament. But in spite of the intimating credentials that they possessed, our super eagles ,whom you regard as mentally inferior, came back twice from behind to still defeat them , yet you don't want see it as a display of a superior mental strength over the whites you worship as gods. What happened yesterday between Australia vs Zambia is normal occurrence in football . It happens all the time and that's why we love the game.It has nothing to do with the colour of the skin . In football, we say, anything can happen. A lapse in concentration , change of tactics and skillful display by any team member can dramatically change the game , and that's what happened . A Football match is a contest between two opposing teams of equal or unequal strength and not between two opposing race to determine who's racially superior. If it were the latter, the France national teams would be barred from playing unless the field only white players. You really have a problem of being blinded by racist hatred over your own race due to lack of knowledge of what makes a human being mentally tough, and because of that you're using random results from football matches to pass very wrong judgement against your own race. You're cursing yourself but you simply lack the awareness to know it. SMH |
Afonjah:You're obviously a kid who started watching football just yesterday. 1. Damman miracle. Nigeria vs Russia 2.Atlanta 96 Nigeria vs Brazil . Semi final. 3. France 98 Nigerian vs Spain Google the ones above and stop the self deprecating remarks. |
abbey621:. Name calling and boasting about what you have achieved in life won't help you prove your point. Nobody can confirm on an anonymous forum if you're a PhD holder or not. You haven't provided any evidence to confirm that. I can equally brag about my own achievements ,but won't do that because I'm not an egomania like you. Yes, the Nigerian economy revolves round the dollar, but since you're completely out of touch with the reality here ,you're not conscious enough to know that in our local markets people buy food stuffs with naira and not dollars. People also buy fuel with naira not dollars. In fact the federal government has made it illegal to buy and sell in Nigeria with the US Dollars and any other foreign currency. The minimum wage to be paid is in naira not dollars, and if you convert the 70k to dollars it's even less in value than the 30k Buhari approved 5 years ago, yet you're deluded to think it's huge money that will results into too much money entering the economy to make traders doubled their prices. If you have a PhD at all, then you must have acquired it from attending a very substandard university. .. If inflation is kept very low it's not bad when compared with deflation. That's the context . The opposite of inflation is deflation. You don't know what's deflation hence the reason you're rejecting the new information I presented to you. Go and Google it and learn so you don't continue to argue from a position of ignorance.Zero inflation will results in the weakening of a country s economy. Go and confirm this, Mr PHD holder. .. I don't have any reason to shift any goalpost. You're the one who has been doing that because you're unable to provide evidence from the past to support your very wild speculations that once minimum wage is increased in Nigeria prices of goods services will multiply. Now the latest is to lie about what I originally said.. Where did I say deflation is good? Please show me? Your head is really not there at all. I made a comparison of inflation and deflation to show that the former is not bad when kept very low. Comprehension is really your problem. .. You have given up on yourself, not me. What do you know that you want to educate me with? There's no single logicality and clarity in most of the things you have tried to explain here, yet you want to delude yourself to think you can educate anybody? Your over bloated ego is really working against you .I'm done with you . I have wasted my time. |
TimiRume:Why should people doubt it ? |
Sermwell:. You did no wrong. Don't allow anyone to intimidate you to apologize to the pastor. |
press9jatv:I believe some persons here would prefer to give you a slap instead of a" sport" because what you have up there is a product of your overactive imagination . |
abbey621:. You making too much noises and not making sense. What I meant by inflation not being bad was explained by me ,yet you have gone ahead to reply with nonsense to confirm your inability to comprehend what's clearly explained for you in simple English language. Are you even aware there's something called deflation which is the opposite of inflation? If you knew that, then you would have understood what I was driving at when I said inflation is not bad. The expression,"not bad" in the context I used it ,means it's something that naturally happens in every country where' economic activities are going on . In other words ,it is normal occurrence and so cannot be completely eliminated or stopped ,but only managed to keep it from rising too much. You can only manage it to keep it low ,but not to extent it results into deflation which is not also good for any country's economy. Instead of you to focus on one thing by supporting your wild forecast about inflation with unambiguous facts and evidence from the past as it concerns your country , you're all over the place using another country having a different set circumstances to do so. For instance, what's the sense in using America whose currency the, dollar, is more stable than the naira, to ask the silly question of why their minimum wage hasn't been increased for years . It hasn't been increased because their currency is very stable compared to yours. So no much need. I will be wasting my time if I continue the conversation with you. You have been arguing from a position of stubborn ignorance . Your "clueless" name calling directed at me, is a projecting of yourself. You think that help will help you prove point? It won't. |
abbey621:Your problem is comprehension. I didn't say illegalities is the cause of inflation but that spending money gotten from illegal means recklessly and consistently on goods and services is one of the factors that can result in inflation. If you cannot comprehend this simple explanation written in simple English, what else can you understand? Besides I have also said there are other factors responsible for inflation unlike you who insist one only one thing, minimum wage. That's the only thing you know and have been blaming inflation on. Name calling won't help you to prove your point. You're only projecting yourself by referring to me as clueless. I won't call you clueless but continue to inform you of the correct thing so you learn and stop the negative forecast about inflation. Inflation is normal in any country where economic activities are going on. It's not a bad thing. Nobody can stop it. It can only be managed so it doesn't get out of hand and cause problem for the economy. The 70k minimum wage which is to be paid to few workers in Nigeria won't result in too much money entering the system. What you have been doing is to use what's obtainable elsewhere where a significant number of workers earn minimum wage to forecast what will happen in Nigeria. That's very poor and it shows you're not thinking it at all. The government that has agreed to pay 70k which is very far from what labour asked for, consulted with economic experts to know the amount to pay that won't cause problems for the economy. Maybe you think you know better than them with your halfbaked knowledge |

I noticed how no one so far, doubted the op's story which screams made up but would speedily gun for anyone's neck with a good testimony. Not saying there are not so many crooked self appointed MOGs out there.
