I have bought items here and I still intend to buy more, I have even stood as a middle man for a friend that saw an ad here but not in Lagos State.
I can tell you that some sellers purposely posted an item they don't have here just to attract people to scam.

My advice to the guy that was scammed, it's not too late, go to your bank with your chat evidence, demand to see the manager, explain your plight to him, go on Twitter, search for EFCC Fraud desk and make a complain, you will be guided on how to make a physical complain.

the scammer could be fished out if you duely followed up.

But next time, ask when buying something and it's not in your state of residence, ask someone to stand in for you, either as escrow or just to check the item before you make any payment. If you don't have anyone in that state, you can ask a nairaland padi to help you out with that.
another thing, do a moniker search using their moniker, after the person release their phone number and account details do another search, the person might have more than one moniker but same account details, this would let you know how genuine they are, their acclaimed locations and etc.

The purpose of this thread is not to scam, but we live in a world where people has used little trust someone has in them to hurt back.

DIY still remains the best Sis. Esp if you can go to other states. Officials will treat you like someone who is learned and knows what is doing. Sometimes they think you are one of those sent to "check" the system.

Besides, the difference no be small o. You could save 15 - 30k doing it yourself.

all I was trying to point out is to make sure who ever has anything to do with NMIC does that with the nimc official not immigration officer.
I only used myself as an example that despite paying an official for my passport, I was not able to do my change of name.

Which DIY I didn't do my passport myself. my husband already paid an immigration officer for my passport, infact I have captured, I am only waiting to modify the name on my NIN, once I do that, what is needed is the NIN number.

The best best you have is, do not pay an immigration officer for nimc issues, look for how to get the nimc staff and relate with them, either DIY or not

please not just let, join hand too. I was frequently the place for over two weeks, I have heard stories that touch as well, where people pay to immigration officers and nimc officers refused to register or effect whatever they want.

best bet is to look for the nimc official and do your thing with them directly.

I saw a woman paid 10k each for herself and her child, just to register and obtain NMIc slip, yet she wasn't allowed in because the immigration officer did not settle the nimc people.
