maziude: Hello guys,
Not to sound too blunt or insensitive. This is for those who ask information about which school to apply to and how to start admission process.
STEPS
1) Your first task is to use google or other search engine to search for universities or colleges.
2) Check if they have the programme you need or want to study.
3) Compare and contrast schools and programmes, check fees and other things.
4) Contact the admissions or programme offices, explain what you want and ask questions, they would be able to give you a better answer.
5) Then if you need opinions from people with past experiences, you can come to the forum with these sets of new information you have gathered and ask for opinions.
6) If satisfied, apply, Else, go to step one.
7) If you get an offer, go to 8.
8 ) Gather your documents depending on your situation.
9) Apply for permit.
10) Pray for approval.
11) If approved, congratulations, Else re-strategize and go to 8.
The above steps are basically the steps required for admission and permit application.
PS:
I had to make this post so that the silent readers and new comers will know the general steps required especially for admission. Please do your homework first, then come here to ask for opinions or advice.
Warm Regards. Hello, Also worth mentioning, only stick with the schools that have DLI numbers. |

nalizzzy: Please I will like to know if d reason for rejection is general or personal. bcus my sis said wen dey reject u. dey put a general reason inside de envelope 4 all delayed visa Hello, Every application is treated based on its merits so general is hardly a term I would use. If one is denied, they list a number of reasons, some of them may be vague but when ones situation changes for better, reapply and address those issues raised no matter how insignificant they may seem. Past denials don't usually affect other applications. |

bobman: Oga sir I don't know about SOWP...am still expecting my trv from the VO Hello, Kindly see my responses below: 1. SOWP = spousal open work permit which means the souse (husband/wife) will be given a work permit at the port of entry and the open mean he/she can work for any employer. 2. The spouse will have a worker status in Canada hence is not permitted to enroll in any institution. 3. Visa and permit duration will be same as that of the primary applicant (Full time student). Note: Ensure passports are able to accommodate at least 3 years. 4. It is much better to have a wedding certificate (from a court not church) of about 1 year at least or risk being labelled a sham. 5. Do read up the application process on the CIC website as its too lengthy for me to type and I'm not permitted to make my seemingly usual reference. Hope this helps. |

platypelloid: Hello House I applied for a school in Canada last week . I used my GTB master card to pay the said $100 application fee.
I got an alert on my phone from GTB that $100 is processed for transaction.
The money did not get to the school account!!!!! I can't withdraw the money here in naija. I complained to the bank they said if nothing happens by Monday that I should contact them
Pls house what can I do? This is disgusting. The application probably may be closing now Since 5 days ago that I applied.
I need the house advice on this!! Pls Hello, I don't know about getting your money back but if a current student refers you, in most schools your admission fee will be waived. Nigerian students usually have school groups on Facebook, You could try that if you want. |

MeinKampf: Good day house, please what happens in a situation where as at the time you made your application, you were employed and you stated it but during the course of waiting for a decision, you lost your job? Are you supposed to do anything in case the embassy wants to verify your job status? Hello, I don't think you need to do any thing, you've probably accounted for all your years from primary school to date which is their greatest concern, you did work with your ex employer for X number of years until recently hence your ex employer should tell them same. |

biolar2017: Do they asked for it during the submission of the forms online or after ? There are two ways to do medicals, either upfront or when cic requests it, I guess the form request you described is for upfront (which should be optional, its makes the visa process faster) but its up to you to decide which one you want to do. Do read up http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp |

mzhorlah: hello, please I need someone to reply me. thanks is it possible to seek n get Job/employment in Canada from Nigeria here n then later apply for Masters programme. will be anticipating opinions Hello, That is a really tall order. Its technically possible but highly unlikely as you MUST be exceptionally good enough for your prospective employer to go through the hassle of proving to immigration that they can't find your skill set in Canada. I'll suggest you go for study visa or express entry, checkout Canadian visa guide mobile app for more info. |

mesh2003: I have a degree in Chemistry but I worked as a business development manager for 3 years in Nigeria. I applied for a 2 year PGD in Global business management in North Island College in 2014. I got a student visa and I finished my program last December. I have a good full time job today in Vancouver. YES MY DEAR ITS POSSIBLE TO GET YOUR VISA. Just prove that you have been in business since your graduation. Write a good SOP. I wrote that although I studied chemistry, I have been in the business environment since I graduated and I want to get the theoretical knowledge of what am doing and how it will help me in my career goal as a business analyst. I had a 2.2 in chemistry and it was difficult getting an admission for an MBA so I went for a PGD. I will go for an MBA after I get my PR. Believe in your dream and package yourself. I ended up winning best international student award in business school and I also made the deans list. It is possible to do that and almost any other course, just find out the job prospect before you decide. Remember Canadians care more about your experience not your certificate. |

abelajayi: pls what are the common work a student can engage-in that one can easily use for current expenses. Hmm, My dear, it can be very hard. Its mostly unskilled jobs through job agencies, examples include sales clerk at wall-mart and the likes, Machine maintenance at Toyota, production line jobs (terrible) etc. Though its not all gloomy, some do pay well mainly if you secure a job without agencies. With the right skills and certification, you can actually get good jobs as a student, just pray your school work load will giveS you the time to work. Start writing your resume well in advance NOT CV. |

gr8tstar: Please I need an honest reply. How easy to convert family tourist or visit visa in Canada to student or any other visa. The aim is to stay in Canada after entering through the visit / tourist visa. Thanks. Hello, There can't be a generic answer to your question as every application is treated independently and based on its merit. Technically, it is possible to change status while in Canada but be careful not to take up employment without a work permit. Read through the CIC website to find out the requirements for changing status or use the mobile app Canadian visa guide to ask questions and navigate the CIC website faster. Pls note, when travelling as a visitor DO NOT travel with your credentials, its raises a red flag and gives away your true intention. Hope this helps. |

Please kindly put me through You should be able to download the form when u click the request for . . . Take the form to any of the approved medical centers along with your passport for identification. The hospital will collect the form from you and send your result directly to the consulate in Ghana. If you are doing medical up front then you`ll get a copy of the result from the hospital which you will upload along with other documents. I think that`s how it goes. |
