ijawkid: Paul here was referring to the spirit,soul, and body of the composite christian church and not the souls,body and spirit of individuals..............Its quite amazing wen i see pple blatantly twisting the bible to promote a false doctrine frm an organization. Lets look at this scenario: i am lecturer in a university and after lecture i told my students 'may God bless u and protect u'. Frm ur analysis above, Paul was actually saying 'may God bless and protect the school' and not the students. The problem is still the scrpited response from the watchtower passed down to the publishers as a default response to certain question; and dats not good at all cos its open to acceptin evrything whether true or false without independent jugdement. To put it clearer to u, Paul was praying for the xtains and not the 'composite church' as u cunningly and technically put it. Man is composed of the spirit, soul and ur physical body (u can call it a container dat houses ur spirit and soul). Dats the major reason while u r asleep and in dreams ur body (or vessel) is lifeless while u can still engage in 'normal' activities as if u r in a phyical world (but in dreams). This is just to point out the fact the man is made of the spirit, soul and body as put right by Paul the apostle. Dnt twist or misinterprete. |

The problem here is the generic interpretation of the bible according to JW. If JW accept the person of the holy spirit as a living being, they will find it hard to refute the doctrine of trinity. Even if u dnt accept the doctrine of trinity but accept a simple bible verse and the teaching of Jesus whom we say we serve. Cos if u call the Holy spirit an active force like an electricity, radar, batterry or wind, u not only give a wrong interpretation of the bible but make Jesus a liar for using a masculine and animated adjective for the holy spirit. There is nothing wrong if one chose not to believ in the person of the holy spirit, but u need not quote unsupportive verse of the scriptures to drive home a false biblical belief\teaching. The language is plain and simple, 'i will send the comforted who the world do not knw', 'i will send the messanger who the world do not knw, frm the father. Kindly note, the spirit of God can possess a million pple at a time. It is still one spirit that is at work. Lemme giv u a personal testimony, sometime in 2007 i visited a pastor friend, as a well were talkin he told me dat the spirit of God told me i will travel oversea (even tho' i neva planned or tot of travelling out of Nigeria). 2010 a different man tell me same thing (despite the fact the i didnt ask him anything or even had any plan or money for travelling). Thats hw the holy spirit works. Pple need to go back to the gospel according to John and read ALL Jesus said\teached about the holy spirit and not wat an organization made dem to accept as gospel truth. |

I dnt see NK making any physical provocation cos they understand the danger too well. China is a rising power, but have not yet tasted real wars agaunst the 'big boiz'. So they are not vry dependable partner in term of global conflict. The Russians are only using dem as a buffer zone in the pacific in case of any eventuality. Russian, much like the west, do not want war, tho' they hav all the means to fight any major battle on a large scale. God forbid, in the event of any confrontation bw NK and the US their likelihood of direct engagement is less dan 10% cos it will surely turn nuclear bw the super-powers. Above all, the issue will die down in a month's time or less. While fresh sanctioned might likely be rolled out against NK, the negotiation dat will follow will still be like before: DENUCLEARIZE AND RECEIVE GIFTS. 3 Likes |

This topic/event is as interesting as dangerous. To me there is a behind-the-scene events being cautiosly played by the US and China. The chinese are using the North-koreans are as litmus test to the US commitment in the korean peninsula and the entire south east asia where china never want any foreign military presence and interference. This is particularly the unresolve issue of Taiwan which the china regarded as their pple and their territory as well. If washington can be muscle/force out of korea, the Taiwan issue wont be a problem any longer. The chinese will easily annex Taiwan fully to Beijing and the power equation in asia will quickly shift to Beijing which the American do not want and cannot not accept except for military defeat. Tho' the Chinese are vry strong militarily given the arsenal at their disposal, but they are not tested power in a major military engagement. All the parties involved are vry vry careful not no escalate the situation (aside frm harsh rhetorics frm pyongyang), non want any serios military confrontation cos they are knw the result, TOTAL DESTRUCTION of both sides of the koreas peninsula. The games here is bw Beijing and washington. The chinese are not comfortable with the strong US presence in the south east asia, while the Americans are afraid of the growing chineses military that must be contained at all cost. I dont see any hostility aside frm the rhetorics and war freenzy going on in that part of the world presently. |

The amount of casualties the Russians suffered clearly does not mean much when they were still the largest army in the world.Yes, it terms of conventional forces the Soviet army is the largest then, but not in nuclear forces, after the war. Towards the end of 1942 the tide of war turned against the German both in the atlantic and the eastern front. All by the effort of the allies. The russians were doing the bulk of the fighting no doubt (they lost more than 23 million men compare to US who lost roughly 450,000 and the British 520,000). Lets say there was no initial allies support to the Russians in terms of arms, medicine and food supply, all the population of stalingrad would have starved to death during the 400day siege and the Germans would hav easily marched to moscow. The allies did assist the Russian not cos they love them, but to ensure that Russia do not collapse paving way for the Japanese(who are active belligerent against the allies) and the German forces to to meet in far eastern russian to mongolia. If that had happend the Americans will surely be defeated as well. Josef Stalin (or the Russians), before the war, was German ally before their (German) invasion of Russia, hence the western allies were reluctant to give them full support to end the war quickly. Thats y the Russian did the bulk of the fightings themselves. But without the initial allies support at the begining of the German offensive, the Russians would hav collapse by the end of 1942. If the British had accepted Hitlers peace plan of 1941 so that the Germans would concentrate fully on the Russians, the result would hav been the opposite in the east. |

Are u not a Nigerian? Do u knw that most of the UNIZIK students dat made Nigeria proud would have all failed pricewaterhouse coopers executive trainees exams while their counterpert frm UNILAG would be sucessful (if the test is conducted by Nigerians)? Stop talking as if u live in Vatican city and be truthful to ur self for once. The country is corrupt and we need a paradign shift to move forward. |

pleep: So true, i thought i was the only one who believed this.The Russian alone wouldnt have survive the Nazi onslaught without the support of the US in the supply of food, winter cloths, arms, and transport trucks (to move soldiers frm siberia to stalingrad as fast as possible to replace all destroyed platoons). The Russian airforce was a big mess at the start of the German invasion as their airforce almost collapsed to the superior German luftwaff, but the more experienced British RAF came to the rescue. And remember, the Germans were fighting the US airforce and the British airforce in the west and at the same time facing the Russian tanks and steam rollers in the east. If the Germans do not make the mistake of fighting a war on two fronts, there is no way the Russian CAN single-handedly beat them. And for your information the Russians alone had one-third of the entire casualty during the second world war. The defeat of the Germans was a joint effort of many countries and not only the Russians. |

Most Igbos in the south west live in Lagos and not ogbomoso, akure, ile ife, ibadan or other yoruba towns. The reson being that Lagos, as a former capital territory, provides more job/business opportunities than all the states in naija. Since u dnt belong to, or associate with any xtain org (or/and mention one if u do, which i think u wont as a hyper-hypocrite), do u think u hav a moral right to judge or criticize anyone/organization? Just like a student who always say: 'i have not seen a school that teaches her student very well', 'i cant go to school cos all my teachers are not qualified, i am even knw berra dan dem', 'the text books used in all the schools are out-dated, so i wont go to school', 'the school building are old'. Any student lookin for excuses here and there as a reason for not wanting to go to school end up academic failures. The same thing in spirtual matters, anybody looking for excuses here and there in order to bring the church into disrepute is a failure spiritually. No human organization/govt is perfect as long as they r not run by angels or spirit being but mortals. Or do u think u can do better as a spiritual leader? Then start a ministry and lets see hw it goes, i will personally be in support of the ministry if its to be for the edification of the body of christ. Bros stop all this criticism so that ur tongue is not broght against u in judgement. U look more intelligent than bein a mere critic in the gospel of christ. |
