It was when I was more educated and realised many flaws in the religion that scholars (whom I asked questions about Islam privately) started telling me why..

I came to nairaland thinking those scholars were biased. To my surprise most Muslims here started reacting same way. They started saying they will believe anything in the Qur'an and hadith whether it make sense or not.

They started saying it is Allah that guided them to Islam not their brain etc.

This make me realise that I was different from the beginning, but I didn't know because I have not found any flaw in the religion. I thought we were together and that no Muslim would accept Islam if it go against common sense or established scientific fact.

Thus, if dogmatically following Qur'an and hadith is the definition of a Muslim, then I think I was never a Muslim.

Muhammad died in 632 AD

Abu Bakr the first Caliph ruled for 2 years during which he started the first compilation and he completed it before he died and kept it.

The second caliph Umar ruled for 10 years from 634-644AD and he was in custody of manuscripts until he died after which Hafsa his daughter kept custody of it.

During the rule of Uthman (who ruled 12years after Muhammad had died) that is more than 12 years after the first Quran was compiled. Uthman ruled for 12years so in between those 12 years while he was ruling, people called his attention to the different ways people were reciting the Quran (which has been the norm even when Muhammad was alive and he didn't think of unifying the Quran into one dialect because Muhammad himself said the Quran was revealed to him in 7 different dialects)


But Uthman decided to unify the Quran into one standardized version when neither Allah nor Muhammad gave him such Instruction when he was alive.

So Uthman sent for the manuscript with Hafsa
"...So 'Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to 'Uthman. 'Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies."... Sahih Bukhari 6:61:510


So Uthman then ordered his scribes to write the new Quran in the dialect of the Quraysh and when they were done with their editing and standardization they buried the evidence of their alterations by burning the evidence.


"...'Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt..." Sahih Bukhari 6:61:510

Hence the Quran sent to all provinces were compiled during the reign of Uthman who started ruling 12 years after Muhammad died and ruled for another 12 Years and the compilation and editing was done within his 12 Years of rule, which was 652 A.D.20years after Muhammad had died

Also, as at that 652 A.D. there was no diacritical marks in Arabic language, it only came into existence in 8th century and the 9th century, long after Muhammad had died and long after Uthman had given out his own standardized version of the Quran

The arabic skeletal script is without the diacritical marks and vowelization:
Fathah = ah
Dhammah = oo
Kasrah = ii

None of the above dialect marks existed in the time of the prophet or Uthman in 652 AD and the present day Quran has them

That means nobody in the world has the original Quran with the original language without diacritical marks and vowelizations and that means the Quran compiled is not the same as the one Muhammad received

1) The quran was not in a perfect copy before the time of Uthman. Uthman was the one, according to the hadith above, that PERFECTED the quran. What authority does Uthman has to PERFECT the quran?

2) Uthman ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. If the manuscript of the quran was re-written, what happend to the original copies? Where can we get the raw copies before Uthman ordered the quran to be re-written?

The Qur'an was compiled by Zayd on the authority of Abu Bakr the first Khalif.

After the death of the Abu Bakr, the manuscript ended up with Umar the Second Khalif till he died.

It then ended up with Hafsah, Umar's daughter. Uthman only requested for this and destroyed other copies when he discovered inconsistencies in the recitations of the Qur'an. The copy he got from Hafsah was then copied and distributed to all Muslim province while other fragments, etc burned.

How does this go with the lies you spew above there?

The final compilation and codification was done by Uthman Ibn Affan and all other copies were burnt or destroyed. I understand the fact that Omar Ibn Kathab suggested the collection of the Quran to Abu Bakr As Sadiq (which mohammed never did) as a result of the death of the qora in the battle of yamama. The current quran is a salvaged project/copy. Zaid Ibn Thabit led the committe but the sahabas mohammed appointed for quranic collection are Ibn Masud , Ubayy ibn Ka’b and 2 others. This 4 guys were not included in the collection committee set up by Omar Ibn Kathab.

This led to situation where Ubayy ibn Ka’b and ibn Masud refusing to drop some ayah in their possession and out of anger Omar Ibn Kathb said any ayah any of them refused to drop have already been abrogated. To cut the long story short, both Omar Ibn kathab and Abu Bakr died before the quran was finally compiled which handed Uthman Ibn Affan the task of completing the collection and compilation and burning of copies of the quran he didn't approve.

Nigeria is a country with freedom of religion. Some states have the Shari'a laws applicable in full. Some only partially while it's not applicable in some.

Shari'a law is a distinct and universal legal system.

There is no any state in Nigeria where sharia law is practiced in full. Sharia law is only applicable to muslims and non-muslims are not judged in sharia court.

Uthman Ibn Affan was also responsible for burning copies of the quran he didnt agree with. He was also murdered by fellow muslims who didnt agree with his leadership style and for his role in the compilation and documentation of the quran.

Great summation. Every culture has a name for their supreme deity, the Arabs inclusive. The Arabs of all faith call their god Allah because that's their official language and a generic name for their gods. There is nothing strange and special about that, and using Christian Arabs to sell Islamic Allah is very ridiculous.Both the Christian and Islamic Allah are two distinct personalities, having different characteristics. Their only common denominator is answering the same name which is Allah.

It is never on record that the Christians of the 6th and 7th century called their God Allah and the opposite is true. All the old church incriptions, from Syria to Ethiopia, confirms that they called their God Jehovah. Most of them started using Allah, mostly from the 10th and 11th century AD because Islam had gained preeminence and the language of study and commerce is Arabic while most population subconsciously started to refer their gods as Allah.

If the preeminence religion in Arabia is Hindu, most Arabs today will call their God Vishnu. It is just a commonsense.

Comparing freedom of speech with holocaust denial doesn't make sense but Muslims use it to stifle an honest discussion about the Islamic blasphemy law. This is pure crooked and dishonest. Muslims kills for blasphemy and nobody kills for holocaust denial.

If you say Islam can't be criticized, except based on Islamic standard and requirement then you are a hypocrite. Why will Muslim draw a line on how Islam can be criticized by non-muslims? On the issue of freedom of association, I can't say much about it because almost all religion preach against free association with people of other faith. If you want to make an honest and constructive comparison, you compare Islamic human right with Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and other belief systems with a large followership. The Quran in 9:29 ask Muslims to fight (not love) anyone who doesn't believe in allah or the last day and force the people of the book to pay the Jizya, in humiliation, except they become Muslims. Is this not human right violation?

In Islam, Muslim men can marry kafir woman but kafir men cannot marry Muslim women, is this not human right violation?

Mohammed said in the hadith 'I will expel the Jews and the Christian from the Arabian peninsula', is this not human right violation? Between the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims who were in Saudi Arabia first?

In any Islamic state, a non-muslim cannot testify against a Muslim, is this not human right violation?

A Muslim who left Islam cannot inherit from his father's property, is this not human right violation?

If a Muslim kill a non-muslim, in an islamic state, they Muslim will be asked to pay 'blood money' to the family of the deceased but if a non-muslim kills a Muslim the penalty is death, is this not human right violation and inequality before the law?

This statement is hypocritical. You choose the Hadith that suits you and reject the ones you don't want. Sahih means authentic hence it is called sahih bukhari. If you are rejecting some hadith you don't like then it is no longer sahih.

Now, for the sake of argument, your Quran doesn't recommend killing blaphemers and apostates but your hadith does and all 5 schools of Islamic jurisprudence cite the hadith to recommend killing blaphemers and apostates, are they getting Islam wrong? Why did they reject the Quran and follow the hadith?

Again, the 5 solat prayer is not in the Quran. The number the Quran recommended is 3 while the sunni hadith recommended 5 solat prayers, why do you follow the hadith and not the Quran in the number of times you pray?

The challenge is that Muslim made Islam flexible; they choose whatever suit them and have a ready-made answer to whatever inconsistencies before them.
