In other to let you know the kind of primitive mind these same disciples had,let me review a scripture in Isaiah

Now, because some of these disciples have read that the government will be upon the shoulder of christ and christ told them he will be killed, they started fighting among themselves what position they will take in the government, unknown to them Jesus kingdom or government is not of this world.

Luke 9:46 Then there arose a reasoning(an argument) among them, which of them should be greatest.

Now, these same set of disciples with that kind of primitive mindset, saw jesus ascending in Act 1:11, what do you expect the angel to tell them?
That christ ascended without setting up the government for them?
They will surely hope that he will descend back and keep his promise in Isaiah 6:9
To keep their primitive hope alive, the angel will tell them what they want to hear(which is false news) so that they will not scatter or leave the faith in disappointment.

Now the question is, as a modern day christian with better knowledge and understanding, do you want to be like these primitive disciples who cannot even understand jesus parables talkless of understanding what the angel was saying to them?

I tell you one truth, the world keeps evolving day by day, people are getting more knowledge and understanding .

The level of knowledge people have acquired today is far above what people used to know in bible days, so you cant blame the disciples for being primitive like that.

Revelation 11:11-12.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ASCENDED up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Read the entire passage for the complete story. It's about two prophets who God will use to perform great signs and wonders before the second coming of Jesus. They carried out their ministry for about three and a half years after which they were killed. They did not bury them but celebrated their death. But after three days they rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Are you satisfied now?

The same thing applies, whatever scripture you read that looks like its talking about people caught up in the air, or sound of trumpet. Check it deeply, there are internal meaning.
The meaning may not be interpreted does not mean that there are no meaning. Our job is to search for the meaning and apply it to reality and not to take it literally like the way we see it.

This is also a parable or figurative language. It does not in anyway entails physical building or mansion or house. It is simply referring to the fact that our body is the building or temple of God, knowing that our body is present God's kingdom on earth where God lives.

In otherwords, our body is the place where jesus has gone to prepare for us.
And truly,

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

If you read down to verse 51

1 corinthians15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep(that is, we shall not all die) but we shall all be changed,(that is, our body will be changed )

There are so many mysteries or puzzles in bible pointing to one thing that was already said before, but they are all nothing, only that we need to look beyond what we see when we read.

Let me add this to my initial response. In John 14:2-3, you said Jesus was talking about the temple of our body. But you are grossly dishonest on this cause it doesn't fit in.

He said specifically that he was going to prepare a place for us. And he wants us to be where he is. Jesus is in heaven and that is where he wants us to be until the creation of the new heaven and earth. He also said he is coming back to take us. How did Jesus go to heaven? The answer is in Acts 1:9. which reads;

"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight".

They saw him as he ascended. So why do you think we too can't ascend? He is man's representative on earth. Whatever he was able to do, we can do.

And while they gazed at the sky and watch him go, two angels stood by and said,

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.(Acts 1:11)

So, you see the consistency in the Scripture. He is coming back the same manner he went. And that is what Apostle Paul affirmed in 1st Thessalonians 4:13-16.

I don't really know what you gain to subvert the heart of brethren from the simple truth contained in the Scripture.

Please you don't have to win an argument at all cost. If you know you got it wrong, just admit and start believing the truth. False teachers will face severe punishment that could cost your salvation. So many are in hell today because of false teachings they had believed.

Whenever a figurative expression is not interpreted, it is because it does not contain any ambiguity. But if it does, the Bible will give us the interpretation. So it's wrong to conclude that a statement is figurative when others think otherwise. So, it's safer to accept it in literal terms unless it is interpreted otherwise.

Jesus spoke about mansions. Are there not buildings in heaven? Do people live open air. Are those buildings not constructed by angels. There are buildings in heaven and that interpretation is literal.

Studies have show that the doctrine was developed by the ancient catholic church, the same people who thought that the earth was flat until galelio disproved the doctrine.
The catholic church uphold that belief that the earth is flat inspite evidences against it, until just recently in 1991 that they official accepted that the earth was spherical afterall.

Now that is human nature for you.
Humans tend to be dogmatic in upholding widely accepted beliefs even when evidences againt it are glaring at their faces

I really don't know what to say to you because you have already made up your mind not to believe it. Even when you see evidences, you call it figurative. If anything is said in figurative terms, the Scripture will always interpret it. If it is not interpreted, then you have to take it literally.

In John 14:2-3, our Lord Jesus said,

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Where is his Father's house? Certainly heaven. He said he will go there and prepare a place for them and when he is done, he will come back and receive us unto himself.

How will Jesus do that? Certainly not going to use rocket. We will be caught up to meet him in the air as confirmed by Apostle Paul in 1st Thessalonians 4:13-16.

How did the Saints who rose from the grave after Jesus rose go to heaven? They went together with Jesus on the day he was received up in their very presence. They were the cloud that received him.

Know for sure that this present world will be destroyed and the wicked will be severely punished. We will not be on earth when God pours his wrath on the earth as revealed in the book of Revelation.

Do you think that Jesus will raise us up from the dead and live us here? He will take us to our mansions in heaven at the sound of the last trumpet. For your information, there are already sounds of trumpet recorded in certain parts of the world. This is a warning sign that it is just by the corner.

A lot of christians think that certain verses of matthew 24 was referring to rapture, but when you look at the scripture properly or read between the lines, you will discover that rapture was never the case. For instance, these scriptures were mere figure of speeches or parables which actually meant what will happen when Jesus was coming to die for the sins of mankind 2000 years ago, not what will happen in our future as rapture.
Because at the end of the parable, Jesus categorically says "this generation shall not pass(referring to the generation of israel at that time, 2000 years ago, not today.) until all these things be fulfulled


Matt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Now dont mistaken this to be coming in the clouds of heaven, it is a parable and it means HEAVEN ON EARTH or put it this way, God's kingdom on earth.
If you read other parables of jesus and relate it, Jesus described Gods kingdom using events of humans on earth. (Matt 13:24, matt 13:31 & 33).
So the clouds of heaven there literally means activities of humans on earth like sowing seeds, leaven hidden in bread, investing money as shown in the parable of talent (money)

Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Sound of the trumpet here in another parable :it literally means using trumpet as a means to notify and call people to become Jesus disciples in those days (2000 years ago before jesus was crucified).
The elect there, refers to Jesus disciples or followers.

It also occurred to me that the sound of the trumpet here has nothing to do with the sound of the trumpet in 1 cor 15:52 and 1 thes 4:16. They are not the same event

Matt 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Everything prophesied here in this matthew 24 have been fulfilled in that generation (2000 years ago).
The trumpet sounded that generation(people were called by trumpet to follow christ that generation and be his disciples),so. It has already been fulfilled

Matt 24:40 Then shall two be in the field(referring to people of that generation 2000 years ago, not today or our future) the one shall be taken, and the other left.
2000 years ago before jesus was crucified, there was the situation where two people working in the field were called to follow christ and be among his disciples, one obeyed the call and became part of jesus disciples and the other rejected the call and was left behind.
Matthew 4:22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
That means, their father was left behind while they were taken.

What are we saying in all these?
The idea that rapture is going to take place in our current day future is a big scam.
It all happened and was filled 2000 years ago, that generation did not pass until all those things mentioned in matthew 24 was fillfilled.

Instead of jailing them, why not rehabilitate them. Empower them through skill acquisition training. Some of them are forced into prostitution because of the state of the nation.

Nigerian-born scientists, Oluwaseyi Shorinola, Emmanuel Balogun, Rufus Akinyemi and 27 other early career African scientists were last week in Naivasha, Kenya honoured with $391,500 each for a two- year research project aimed at developing the continent.

The African Academy of Sciences, AAS, and the Royal Society’s FLAIR supported by the UK’s Global Challenges Research Fund is designed to help talented early-career researchers, whose science is focused on the needs of the continent, establish independent careers in African institutions and ultimately, their own research groups.

The scientists were selected from a competitive pool of more than 700 applicants. Their research is diverse, ranging from providing renewable energy solutions and addressing climate change, to tackling food security and targeting health and environmental problems for people living in African countries.

In a chat with Health & Living, Shorinola who will be relocating to the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya to carry out his research, said his work would focus on rapid mining and mobilisation of beneficial gene alleles to improve wheat production in East Africa. According to him, the food security challenge anticipated in Africa in the near future is clear as in less than four decades from now, Africa must feed an additional 1.3 billion people more than half of whom will be living in urban areas. “Wheat will play a critical role in ensuring food security in Africa as increases in urbanisation has triggered changes in food consumption patterns with a shift from traditional food to easy-to-cook foods that are mostly derived from wheat.”

“Wheat production in Africa is currently characterised by low yields, high susceptibility to diseases, and poor end-user quality due to the use of poor quality seed with low genetic potential.

“I propose a low-risk, high-reward and excellent scientific approach to mobilise, evaluate and discover beneficial genetic variation to improve wheat production in East Africa.”

Also, Dr, Rufus Akinyemi who is from the University of Ibadan is looking into the genetic basis for memory loss after a stroke. According to Akinyemi, people of African descent are particularly prone to worse stroke outcome.


Dr Emmanuel Balogun from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is identifying a compound to neutralize the sleeping sickness parasite, (trypanosomiasis).

Balogun said he was motivated by the fact that Africa loses about $5 billion annually to trypanosomiasis.

According to him, sleeping sickness and nagana affects humans and livestock respectively and have been identified as two major diseases that have partly contributed to the poverty and underdevelopment in Africa. His dream is to develop affordable drugs for such neglected tropical diseases.

Reacting to the programme, Professor Felix Dapare Dakora, President, AAS, welcomed the FLAIR grantees to its postdoctoral family.

“We recognise that well-planned postdoctoral programmes are critical in promoting scientific and research excellence and leadership in Africa and so I want you to be catalytic in inspiring African institutions to critically think about the role of and defining postdoctoral programmes that suit their needs and purpose and can be instrumental in driving socio-economic development on the continent.”

On her part, Dr Judy Omumbo, Programme Manager, Affiliates and Postdoctoral Programmes, explained that FLAIR grantees would have access to AAS’ wider programme of support to develop them as independent research leaders including leadership, entrepreneurship and media, science communication among others.
