FG is smart, #EndSARS wasn't the only demand. Many are just not happy with FG.

Celebrities / Protest Deny : I Am Nigerian First Before Anything – Davido Clarify by Trynaija(m): 10:43pm On Oct 12, 2020
There was mix feeling about Davido recent visits to IG of Police Today at their headquarters in Abuja.
Below is his statement regarding what He said :

My team and I met with the IG of police at their headquarters in Abuja to discuss the #EndSars protests and the way forward.

I want to make it clear that I never went there to deny protesting. My comment was taken out of context. I was trying to explain that I was not at the protest to cause trouble or fight as you can hear me say in the video, but rather I was there in solidarity with every Nigerian demanding an end to police brutality.

I was also explaining to Mr Frank Mba, the Force PRO, that my intention on leaving Lagos for Abuja was not to lead a protest like many had thought. I had finally secured an invitation from the IG of police to come to Abuja for a stakeholders meeting scheduled for Monday morning.

That was the reason for my trip and for my Abuja tweets.
As for the talk doing rounds about me going to ‘deny protesting’ and lie due to intimidation or whatever. It’s a shame that at this particular time lies have to be spread by blogs that should be focused on fighting for the cause, and a shame that I have to explain myself, but I have to.

Mr. Mba had seen videos and pictures of myself on social media protesting in solidarity alongside my fellow Nigerians and asked what happened as he also knew that was not the plan. I then explained the reason I got involved with the protesters and led them down to Force HQ so I could dialogue with the officers in charge who were accused of effecting arrests.

I was there until we were given assurance that all protesters were released and we left shortly after. Hence my ‘I didn’t protest’ explanation. I am not one to fear police or fear protests.
I had someone record on IG live was because as usual I’m trying to carry people along on every step. This movement belongs to each and every one of us and no one single person can claim to be the leader of this.

The room we were in where the video leaked was Mr Mba’s. We waited there briefly for the IG to see us. The actual meeting with the IG though recorded has not yet been shared. That was where we discussed extensively the issues facing the youth and facing us as a nation.

I have never claimed to be the voice of the people, nor can I claim to have been personally victimized by SARS. But as a young Nigerian, there is no way I could be silent on this matter and not help to the best of my ability- as flawed as it may come across to some. The crime here would have been inaction.
I’m a Nigerian FIRST, David Adeleke Second.
I would like to thank the IG for agreeing to meet with us under such short notice and hearing us out, the great Nigerian youth for being so inspiring and showing the world that things are changing, and in particular I’d like to thank the REAL voices of this movement- our WOMEN. They have been the backbone of the protests, and we must protect them at all costs.
Lastly, may we never forget those that have tragically lost their lives to police brutality before and during these protests.

Davido

Celebrities / #ENDSARS Burnaboy React, Launch Billboard by Trynaija(m): 5:05pm On Oct 10, 2020
Many have been calling BurnaBoy out for his choice of silence since #EndSARS protest escalated in Nigeria.

No one knows that BurnaBoy silence was that he is also busy making arrangements for voice of people to be heard.

Below is his statement :

” have taken the past week to gather my thoughts. I usually respond to these matters with my emotions and my frustra-tions, this time I have chosen to ignore the attempts; well-meaning or derogatory, to draw me out.

This is not and should not be about me, it is about a fundamental problem that affects us all as Nigerians, as Africans, and as human beings.
The state of our country, Nigeria is tricky, it has been from before i was born.

My greatest concern in all of this is that SARS will end now as it allegedly has several times in the past (I recall giving calls to end SARS during my USA tour in April 2019) and morph into a different entity down the line with a different form or a different name. In my opinion, abolishing the unit is a definite first step but we cannot afford to stop there.
The major issue is PROFILING. THIS MUST BE ADDRESSED BY BOTH THE AUTHORITIES AND THE CITIZENRY. IT SHOULD NOT BE A CRIME TO BE A YOUNG PERSON IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY.

The old adage that you cannot judge a book by it’s cover is a wise one.
The seriousness of recent events has required me to express my commitment to my people in the following format: –
1. Top of mind: First and foremost, I applaud all of the protestors exercising their right to assemble and fight for justice.
2. PROJECT PROTECT: I have created a sub-fund under my charity -The Reach called (@projectprotectng) to help protestors that are wrongfully harmed/arrested by SARS during and after these protests. This is a fund for the people by the people.
3. Miseducation foundation: This initiative will primarily be focused on upward mobility of our community to give a voice and a platform. It will be a mix of sharing and providing educational/factual historical information to give perspective on the origins of our nation and our continent. We will also focus on providing broader platforms to amplify the creative and tech community (no matter the field).
My music is my essence and it is primarily for the empowerment of Nigerians and Africans. I have always and will always continue to use my voice for this cause as I deem fit not because I am forced to but because I have chosen to.
Tiyamiu Kazeem, Isaac Mbge, Ifeoma Abugu, Chibuike Anams, Christian Ugwuoke, Aneke Okorie, Tina Ezekwe, Solomon Eze, Ayomide Taiwo, Godspower Edoha, Kolade Johnson, Chinedu Meniru, Augustina Arebu, Tunde Nafiu, Ifeanyi Ozor and those whose names are not known, may they never be forgotten.
Be safe out there family.

Foreign Affairs / Kenyan Politician Empower Graduates With Wheelbarrows by Trynaija(m): 9:10am On Oct 03, 2020
2013 promise to standard 1 kids were laptops to usher them into digital era, a dream championed by UhuRuto but the main chorus was coming from uncle Uliam. Whatever he was using then only God knows.

The year 2020 uncle Uliam comes with Wheelbarrows targeting graduates as a way of economic empowerment, is it not insults, mockery even to mention this.

Why thrive on cheap PR just to get to highest office in Kenya. The failure by Jubilee government to create enabling environment in economic empowerment by all Kenyans cannot be rectified by issuing Wheelbarrows, water tanks and Mkokoteni.

Now who is learning from who, Nigeria abi Kenya?
