I was in a bus the other day, on my way to town, like any other Friday, there was traffic. The bus was loud as usual, then this car in front of uscided to move to the next lane to take a turn and the commotion started. The bus driver, the conductor and the men in the bus all joined in the series of demeaning comments targeted at the other driver. With all that noise and excitement, I just had to take a look and see who it was that had caused so much noise, it was a woman. She seemed professional, dressed for the office and minding her business, I can only assume she was going to work. The insults were taken to a whole other level when they called her out; her family and her assumed children. Like seriously, she was just driving to work. So here is what really bugged me. A lot of men out there claim they love their women, some even say they love all women, yet you call out one woman who has said nothing to you nor done anything to you except drive. You claim you love your woman yet you mark her body with disgraceful signs of hate, making her give excuses because she is ashamed of the truth. You claim she means the world to you yet you treat her like a slave, worthless and poor. You claim to love her yet you belittle her for simply trying to be your woman, you make her cry and ruin her mascara for something so simple. So, to all the men, and young boys, who sit around mocking and insulting that woman or girl who rejected you, or didn’t dress how you would have wished her to dress, for choosing to not be your personal punching bag or your Barbie doll, for being independent, for the many reasons that make you think you can simply treat a woman like garbage, please remember, you came from a woman. A woman who carried you for months and lived through the journey that is pregnancy, a woman who endured the excruciating pain of labor just so you take your first breath and live to say those foul words, a woman whose breasts you fed on and probably ruined, a woman who stayed up all night because you had a fever, a woman who woke up simply because you wanted to play, a woman who listened even when she knew nothing about what you were talking about, a woman who is your mother. She is the woman who birthed you and yet you have the audacity to call someone’s mother, sister, and daughter out of her name and drag her name down the street, because of what?? Is it pride?? Ego?? Irrational fear of emasculation?? I am curious. What exactly prompts you to just feel like that? For the several boys and some men who actively go on social media to shame women because of periods and how our bodies work, uuhhmm excuse me, are you a woman? Do you know what it feels like to go through it? Have you ever experienced it? Please, grab a human biology book and read about it, it will do you a great deal, and if not, please, keep your mouth shut about things you do not understand. We are people too you know, if we could turn the tables over and treat you like garbage too, would that make you happier? Embarrass you, insult you, threaten you, beat you, shame you, defame you, would it be better? I am really curious. |

Chuksdede:u mean u r bookin space for the live sex show? |
In Kibera, there are live sex shows on a shoestring budget. You can pay to watch live sex in parts of Makina, Gatwekera and Laini Saba. Here, several video dens ‘broadcast’ live shows for Sh150 as you watch men and young girls have sex. “Most girls who engage in sex- for-view have babies to feed. They prefer being paid for sex in public than standing in street corners,” says our source. At times, especially when men are drunk, such viewings get out of hand and some offer up to Sh500. “There can never be a problem with the police... In fact, cops on patrol usually pass by for their share of protection money,” he says. The entrance fee can be hiked to Sh200 if the girls taking part that night are fresh, youthful and probably underage. In the shows, a female usually has no say as to whether a man should have protection or not. According to the latest United Nations Population Fund report, one in every 117 females is a sex worker. The report indicates that an average sex worker earns Sh1,500 per day. Nairobi has the highest concentration of female sex workers at 29,494, while the rest of the country has 107,181 sex workers. This is a four times increase in the number of city prostitutes from three years ago. In a 2013 report by former Nairobi mayor, Nairobi had 7,000 sex workers operating at night, with each having an average of three to four clients, which translates to between 21,000 and 28,000 sexual activities a night. The United Nations Population Fund report also claims that three out of every 10 female sex workers in Africa are HIV- positive. The report adds that 76.6 per cent of Kenyans think prostitution should be legalised. KAYOLE A walk-around Innercore, especially near clubs, one is met with ugly sights of almost women standing on the sidewalks almost naked. The women hunt for men who are going home past 9pm. Kayole is another juggle that has women lining up along the flats for all and sundry. HARUNA There is a hooker zone in an area called Mbuthia where langas begin their activities at around 5pm in the evening. The flesh peddlers here are a mix of young and old. SHEURI MOYO They are now even in Nairobi’s Huruma Estate where two well- known sex joints have girls as young as 12-years-old sleeping with patrons for as low as Sh100.

annunaki2:though am not muslim but I av muslim as friends, deir some thing practice by chtistian wish is differ to bible injuction same apply to some muslims |

your reason?? |
delishpot:well u could say dat but dis is d fact |
Firstly let’s get one thing
straight: Muslim and Arab are two
different things. Arab is an ethnic
group and as such Arabs can be
Christian, Jewish, atheist, Muslim or
any other religion. Islam is a
religion. People often forget that
the largest Muslim country in the
world is Indonesia and the majority
of the world’s Muslims are not
Arab. Many non-Arab countries
around the world have large
Muslim populations including
Senegal, Uzbekistan, Malaysia,
Bosnia, Turkey, Cyprus and Ghana
among others.
With the difference between
ethnicity and religion now clarified,
here are the five things about Islam
you should know. 1. Women and men are equal in Islam: “Each of you is equal to the other” ( Quran, 3:195). It is true that inequalities exist in many Muslim societies but it is also true that gender inequalities exist in many non-Muslim societies as well. Gender inequalities emanate from cultural practices, not the religion of Islam. In the Quran, men and women enjoy the same rights spiritually, but also socially and politically. Several Islamic countries have also had female heads of state, including Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Turkey. 2. Islam shares many religious figures and historical events with Judaism and Christianity. Muslims greatly respect Jesus. He is considered a prophet in Islam. 3. Muslims fast for 30 days every year for Ramadan, which is one of the five pillars of Islam. Ramadan this year is happening during most of the month of July. Muslims fast to experience what it feels like to be poor and hungry, and to focus on their own inner spiritual journey. Fasting is a great teacher of compassion. 4. Islam is a religion with a deep commitment to social justice. In addition to the practice of Ramadan enabling Muslims to experience hunger as a poor and hungry person might, another of the five pillars of Islam is to help the poor through a donation of zakat. Put simply, Muslims must give 2.5 percent of their savings to the poor, as zakat is a requirement of those who have accumulated wealth. 5. Violence and suicide missions are un-Islamic. At its core, Islam is a religion of peace, a message reiterated many times throughout the Quran. The Quran calls its way “the paths of peace” ( 5:16) and states that God dislikes any disturbance of peace: “God loves not aggressors” ( 2:190). Additionally, there has been a fatwa (or religious decree) speaking directly against terrorism and suicide bombings, stating they are unjust, evil and have no place in Islam. People who perpetuate violence in the name of Islam are no more true to their faith than Christians who blow up abortion clinics. With so much misunderstanding in the world about Islam, I hope these simple facts serve to redress some common misconceptions. |
