Politics › Re: PDP Reacts As NBC Suspends AIT, Ray Power by TSRC: 11:31pm On Jun 06, 2019
densiks:
Press freedom does not translate to rascality which is capable of fueling unnecessary tensions and engaging in misinformation under the guise of journalism practice.

If Dokpesi wants to run a media house for pdp he should apply for a license specifically for that.
Anyone that feels NBC is gagging the press should avail himself of the facts.

If the facts don’t still point you to the burden of breaches AIT has committed, feel free to help them petition UN,White house, and wheresoever you feel can help add to the noise.
We will remind you in the future as usual, the same way we remind you guys of the past precedence when you clowns cry that the office of the president is being humiliated.

Buhari and the apc will not remain in power forever.
You will not be able to tell the new ruling party when to stop when they start their own.

Short sighted clown.

Yes.
But buhari appointed his own man who is now doing his bidding.

Their work does not include taking Nigeria back to the stone age.

MrMou:
PDP sycophants & IPIGs no dey tire for disgusting lies! Una no dey shame?
Which American broadcasting rules did CNN violate & weren't sanctioned for? You think CNN is as lawless as your beloved AIT?
Fake news for instance.

The CNN have peddled outrageous lies against the US President.
Why have Trump not shut them down?

if ait was like cnn, buhari would have arrested them for treason.

Please don't let us turn this into a political matter. If AIT violated NBC rules and regulations, good for them. If otherwise is the case, they should drag the NBC to court. Shikena
There are one thousand and one rules CNN have broken, but Trump cannot shut them down.

It does not look good.

Nigeria does not have a stronger regulatory system than America.

You are just less democratic and more corrupt.

I fear for the future of this country. I hope apc keeps winning because if pdp gets there, they will go on a vengeful spree they wouldn't have thought possible.

There are no more limits, no more red lines.
Buhari obliterated everything. Destroyed federal character, destroyed sanctity of press.

Any government can find reasons to crack down on any opposition media. And any opposition media can also use the fact that it is an opposition media as an excuse to break the rules.

Basically, anybody can say anything.
You cannot shut down a major opposition media.
A lot of burden has to be met.

Your president is setting the wrong precedence for Nigeria.

The most powerful leader in the world is facing an assault of organized media in his own country both fairly and unfairly.
But he can never, ever, attempt to shut them down.

He would be impeached under the fears of tyranny.

Why is buhari taking us backwards.?Is that we elected him to do?

Television continental has done worst but I dont see no letter for them and their license is intact.......
The pdp would just wait for their own turn, shut down tvc for being a tinubu mouth piece and sell it to dokpesi.
And we can't blame them.

But who loses? Democracy.

That was in March.

The NBC sent warning letters to TVC, Channels Television and AIT in March. Apparently the others complied and AIT didn't.

Cmon, the federal government have been looking for any excuse to get at AIT.

We are not fools here.
They were banned from aso rock, the Abuja authorities carried out unnecessary demolition inside the daar complex in Abuja.

There were already many things leading up to this.

Why can't your leaders be like Trump.? It is a low bar, but it seems difficult for your incompetent leaders to meet.

Ategberoson:
which CNN are you talking about, is it the same CNN? have you ever watch CNN airing racism btw black American and the white before?

beside the political principles that guide each country varies, practising the same Democratic system of govt doesn't translate to exercising it in the same way

AIT according to the report had been sent a notice and warning which is the Democratic way of curtailing AIT abuse of NBC rules. if American broadcasting television regulations want CNN to be banned is up to them. NBC withdrawn AIT license not federal govt withdraw AIT license. a different scenario here

I'm not a fan of Buhari but I watched both CNN and AIT. Trump likes to be in the news in everything, he's a controversial president and CNN promote much of that
What nonsense.
TV/Movies › Re: NBC Suspends DAAR Communications License Of Operation by TSRC: 9:49pm On Jun 06, 2019
naptu2:
They weren't suspended for being partisan.

The NBC sent Daar Communications a letter that contains all the rules that were violated by Kaakaki Social. It has nothing to do with APC or PDP.

The broadcasting code has rules that prohibit the use of inciting material that can lead to public unrest. AIT allegedly broke these rules on several occasions when they broadcast material about Niger Delta militants and Fulani herdsmen
Mr man, this is nonsense.
Any government can find reasons to crack down on any opposition media.
Any reason.
The difference between a Banana Republic like Nigeria and civilised countries like america where the president is on verbal war with the media is the rule of law.

You cannot do this. It is a slippery slope.

The pdp can come in tomorrow, shut down TVC, for one reason or the other.

The precedence is already there.
How can you not see the danger? Why do you hate your country so much?

Buhari government has tolerate AIT enough on their unprofessional attitude. They have fully turned themselves to arm of PDP and now that reality is stirring at them in the eye, they are afraid. When you constitute yourself as opposition of government then you suffer what opposition normally suffer.
So if pdp wins tommorow, they should shut down TVC?
Are you going to employ the people thrown out of their jobs?

You are getting somethings wrong, average Nigerian will spend a fortune to buy expensive Samsung and iPhone but eventually buy 3GB plan for monthly usage. Most people still turn off data of their expensive phones.
Nobody that buys a 5G capable phone will not be able to afford 5G data.

Did you just buy it for buying sake.?

Turning off your data does not mean you don't have data.

This is worse than a terrible idea.

I give up
I actually think it is a very good idea.
If countries can run airlines and generate significant revenue from it, then why not states?
In Nigeria, the market is large.

And depending on how professional and efficiently it is ran, it could become an international player and earn foreign revenue for the state.

The real question is will the akwa ibom government run it properly, both in finance and administration?

That is the million dollar question.

Yes IMO people are highly educated but the richest Ibomen aren't from IMO, they are mainly from anambra and Abia....the level of commerce in Kano dwarfs your PH. D collections and that's the point, Kano needs and import more containers than Imo
The commerce you have is artisanal.
Yes, it will bring money but it won't solve the real problem of the north- Lack of Education.

It is education that kills mass poverty and insecurity, not money.
Imo is peaceful and civilized, not because of money, but because of education.

Are you this ignorant or just being mischievous..... No city in South east can match Kano in anything including commerce....... Kano is comparable only to Lagos and PH. Get that
There are more PhD holders from mbaise in IMO state, than in the entire Kano state.

There are more abysmally poor people in kano than in the entire south east.

I told two ladies from Seychelles to come to Enugu. They told me they are scared of Boko Haram.

Southern Nigeria is suffering by association.

Most people buy flagship phones to impress and oppress. How much do these people spend on data on monthly basis should be the question?
You need money to oppress.
If you can afford to oppress with flagship phone, then you can afford data.

Your argument is the same mistake that Vodafone made in Nigeria.
They thought Nigerians are too poor to afford phones.
MTN came in, snapped up Nigeria and became the biggest in Africa.

Up till now, Vodafone can't penetrate the Nigerian market.

Is it the 91 million poor Nigerians that will pay for 5G ? Or the internet users that buy N500 cards ?
Nigeria is too poor for 5G - maybe in another 15 years we will be ready.
We have a lot of poor people. But the number of people that can afford 5G is also significant.

If we can buy flagship phones, why can't we afford 5G.?
