I grew up in nigeria exposed mainly to the concept of god as potrayed by christianity and islam. Lack of evidence by muslims and christians for their respective gods led me to believe their god is non-existent.

Based on your twisted logic a belief in santa clause is religion,so is a belief in unicorns,dragons and aliens. Even a belief that 9/11 attacks were not caused by bin laden is religion. . . .the beliefs mentioned above have no scientific or intellectual basis hence they are religion.

The substance of belief isn't secondary,infact its the primary seperator of religion and other types of belief.
