If the govt weren't so desperately after looting this nation dry, they could simply partner with the owners of these facilities and capture the Oxygen for use whenever and wherever required. I'm certain these organizations will be glad to partner with FG.

I also do not wish to believe that there will be no interview for this recruitment. However I've witnessed close family & friends get good government jobs like CBN, FIRS, NPC etc without any form of interview or test, just congratulatory text messages (not even e-mail) with dates and locations to collect APLs.

So I have this American patient who I recently came across. He's a fat dude who is like in his late 40s but has a very jolly and likeable character. I introduced myself and we got talking afterwards.

After a while of chitchat, he asked me where I was from. I told him to take a guess and he said said, you sound like you're Nigerian. I told him (regrettably) that I was Nigerian. He started smiling and told me that he had a Nigerian girlfriend and that we both had similar accents.

He then started telling me recent occurrences that had befallen his girlfriend in Nigeria. He said the lastest story was that she was in Abuja and as she was on her way to the airport in a taxi, the taxi had an accident and she was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. He said that the hospital demanded money before treatment started and he had to hustle about $4000 and send to her in order for treatment to start.

He said that after a week of her being in the hospital, they wanted to discharge her despite her still being in pain. Because she had exhausted all the $4000 on treatment, he said the hospital had threatened to discharge her on the streets and he was trying to borrow more money to see if he could send it to her so they could continue with her treatments.

He furthermore told me that the girlfriend said that she was a Nigerian American citizen who was currently stuck in Nigeria due to her passport having expired and also due to Covid lockdown at airports in Nigeria. He said she had asked him for $300 to renew her US passport from American embassy in Nigeria.

Another thing that he told me was that just before covid struck, there was a similar pandemic which happened in Nigeria early this year and that his girlfriend had contracted the disease and he had to send her $2000 for treatment. Right now he said he's broke but is waiting for like $2000 disability check from the US government next week which he will send to her as soon as the money clears.

As he was telling me this tale, I was so angry with Nigerians and how they take advantage of people in love to scam them. I wanted to swear for the scammers


I'm at a dilemma here. Do I tell him that he's being scammed by Nigerians or do I continue to be professional and just ignore it. Because I don't want him to think I'm involved with it because these oyinbo people can turn everything on your head and accuse you that is your people in conjunction with you that are scamming him. They are that crazy.

The good part of me wants to help him but I'm hesitant that it may turn out bad for me. Please matured responses.

Please you shouldn't hesitate to tell him. Let him know that it's a a very common scam tactics in Nigeria used in defrauding foreigners online. Imagine someone's life savings will be sent to one cheap scammer who will use the money to impress some runs girls.

Please take my sincere advice, DO NOT QUIT THAT JOB. I know you may be thinking that I'm saying this because of the salary but absolutely not. A 300k job in today's economy is change & I'm currently earning a lot more than that. You're under pressure, see it as a challenge to develop your skills till you surpass your colleagues and they no longer see you as incompetent. To achieve this you will need to change your approach, you must be humble, co-operative even when it doesn't suit you, listen more and argue less, above all you must be teachable and dedicated. There's time for everything including when to throw in the towel but I think in your case it isn't yet the time. Life isn't pleasant and challenges are meant to build character & resilience which is inevitable for survival in the world today. Some of us have faced worse conditions, from racist colleges to outright wicked bosses and these experiences have helped shaped us into what we've become. Quitting will only make you a loser and from what I perceive you're not one that's why you've gotten as far as you have already. Don't let them win, there's time for everything. Quit only when you know you've developed your skills sufficiently and your colleges come to you for help or better still quit when you have an better offer based on your value and what you bring to the table not just empty certificates or connection. If you want to stay long in the game, you don't fake it to make it, you simply put in work and make it.

It's more than a week since I got her the phone and I noticed she hasn't changed... I thought about giving her a second chance and then she did something that annoyed me. I sent a very angry voice note and some messages but she didn't reply for about a day and I thought of it and noticed she was playing a game, so I said I would play along too...

So I acted dumb and called her to apologize that I said what I said out of anger (To me I really mean it) and explained to her that I listened to the notes and didn't find it interesting (I never did), so what I am doing now is I want to get what I gave her back because noticed a very big change and again because she might be telling her friends that I don chop this guy (which I don't like hearing), so after our argument, I already predicted that she'd want to ask me for something after two days and truly she asked me this morning for money to buy slippers of 4k... I didn't want to show any signs that I am aware of what she's doing.. so I told her.. let's be looking sha (which means I will get it)...

So I planned to play along and take her out of our environment to somewhere that's calm, so I would then collect the phone back from her and give her her sim card.

P.s. I predicted it might play out like this but wanted to test her to see... Could have gotten her an iPhone.

Yeah I know the guy might be guilty but I believe the police delayed taking the dude to the hospital which might have led to his death.

Displaying an unconscious man like bush meat on the floor instead of rushing him to the hospital first to revive him. Gross negligence to life by the police as usual.

If I am that dudes family, I will sue the police for murder. I believe he was kept in a cell for the first two days instead taking to the hospital. They only rushed him to the hospital only when they sensed his impending death just to save face and cover their negligence to life.

This is the most sensible response I've read so far. Clearly, this is nothing short of murder and the DPO should be charged with 1st degree murder or worst case manslaughter. This mans only offense is overdose of a legal substance (Tramadol) or drug-abuse. As for the kidnapping indictment, it is left for a competent court to decide if he's guilty or not. Besides even if he was found guilty, he's punishment wouldn't have been a death sentence. Anyway Nigeria is a Jungle where anything goes and the animals living in it just move on and get along.

This trend has been going on for years in Catholic churches but one can only look aside on any thing pertaining Roman catholic idealogies of their long aged magnitude of haphazard kind of worship.
But recently Redeemed churches too joined the age lond trend and the occassion is a sight to behold seeing different people with cultural attires displaying all manner of antics in church.
A man even demonstrated some usage of charms and herbs on stage citing it as a cultural believe before christianity and at the end cultural dance was exhibited by various groups.

My question is,"where has some of these churches lost it?

There's absolutely nothing wrong in celebrating ones culture and heritage as long as it is moral, doesn't contradict the Word of God and doesn't involve any form of idolatry. No culture is superior to the other and as such Africans including African churches should put and end to this "Colonial Mentality" (Kolomentality) of undermining our deep cultural heritage by preaching heresy such as: God only recognizes white (traditional) weddings in church and not traditional weddings where in most cases Godly prayers are rendered to the couples.

The only mistake I think he made was turning down facebook's offer of $5bn because you see, Mark Zuckerberg understood what you don't when it comes to global app marketing, and Mark discovered that Snapchat's marketing game (temporarily for the rich ONLY) was tight. Unfortunately for Snapchat, now they have Facebook as a competitor who have already embarked on a massive campaign to bring them down with Facebook, Instagram and Whatapp 'Stories' doing almost the same thing as Snapchat.
