honeric01: Inferiority complex, trying to prove a worth by all means...HMMMMMMMMand dis aptly explains the poster's personality |
afam4eva: If this is the case then we should not blame people like Theodoore orji of Abia state for the security concerns on Aba and it's environs. It's not right that a governor cannot be the chief security officer of his state. If there are security concerns in the state, it's the governor that will be blamed and not the president. So, i belive the various state government should have some power to tackle security in their states else, there's no use for having state governors in the first place considering the fact that they were created to replicate what the FG is doing in their own state except for defence. The FG should be more concerned with defending the territorial integrity of the country and not stripping governors the power to secure their state.honestly there's logic to every argument on dis issue....m not against state police as a policy, i agree its a more effective way of policing d communities but for now our governors will misuse the opportunity to get undeserved 2nd term, intimidate opposition and anoint successors even against the wish of d people, u know dis is true. i think d disadvantage outweighs d advantage for now. |
Reference: That is because the police is under the executive which is a vestage of colonial rule. The police is the enforcement arm of the judiciary and in some cases share equal independence with the legislature right up to the police chief which is an elective office. Change the constitution, guarantee the independence of law enforcement, decentralise authority and see how this country move forward. But will corruption allow them?plenty sense in dis and dis explains why state police should not come now until these structures u talked about (constitution amendment n independence n election of police chief) are put in place. |
soma042: go phuck ur self, who cares abt ur hatred.u can at least make ur point without highlighting ur stupidity |
afam4eva: THis argument about governors abusing state police is so lame. Can Jonathan tell us if he's abusing the federal police or not and why he thinks the state police will be any difference. We have to decide whether we want to run a federal system of government or a unitary one because it seems some of our politicians don't know what a federation entails. They know that if they allow state police, the power of the federal government will reduce and the states will assume more powers. If we're not ripe for state police then it means we're not ripe to be a nation. My brother as much as i respect ur views...i think u shld still look beyond what we were taught in d textbooks, fine d power at d centre must be reduced drastically and transferred to d people not to the governors that in most cases are worse off dan even gej Nigeria is so complex to stick completely to a governance principle at least for now.......many bad people in d system including u and i always looking for d slightest opportunity to beat d system. terrible, power-hungry monsters called governors...we cant afford to help them by ceding security agencies power to dem |
i hate GEJ, i dislike his ways and mode of governance but on dis let us be frank with ourselves...State police will be abused by governors.....these governors are the monsters that wont make dis country grow....that their devilish Nigerian Governor's Forum already appears larger dan the President's economic team. it is whatever policy the NGF approves of that the retarded GEJ pass on to his team to work on (especially d ones with political implications)...its easier to fight a monstrous president than to fight 36 beasts (yes 36 including those hypocritical ACN governors...all of dem na d same) |
President is abusing Federal Police |
